Anyone like/dislike it? I personally loved it. I thought it really did a good job of bringing graphic novels and films together, and it just really funny and enjoyable. I like the books too. I don't know, what do you guys think? Positive or negative, I'm really interested!

I thought it was an awesome movie! I can't wait until it comes out on DVD, 'cause I want it. :D I thought it was a really great way of meshing a graphic novel with a live-action movie. I thought it was very cool graphics-wise too.

I've been wanting to see it again so I can talk more about it, because it's been a while since my first viewing, so I could use a refresher. I haven't read the graphic novels... Any good?

Yeah! ^_^ I really like them. There are actually a few parts that were funnier in the movie, but they're pretty great. I'm only on the third one at the moment, though.

Maybe I'll check 'em out sometime.

Man, I'm surprised that no one else is a fan of Scott Pilgrim! It was so awesome. XD

Sorry, Squish is my mule. Should have clarified earlier. XP

I saw the movie before reading the books and I didn't like it much, besides the part with Nega-Scott and all the parts with Wallace. However, I went back and read the comics/books and loved the series, though I still am unsure on the movie.

One of the things I love about the comics is that the illustrations are so good that even just the expressions on the characters crack me up. x]

I know, right? Sometimes just the way a character would grin, or a surprised expression, could just get me laughing so hard. I also like how simple the artwork is.

I know! Usually I hate it when movies try to imitate graphic novels, but I thought they did a really good job with this one. It was really video game-cool too. ^_^ I loved all the references to classic games.

I thought the movie was pretty epic, and that it lived up to it's subtitle "an epic of epicness". I wouldn't mind watching it again, either. Video games in real life make me happy. :D

But I'm a bit saddened that it didn't do that well in the box office despite the acclaim it got from critics and viewers alike.

I'm saddened too, and actually pretty surprised. I would have thought that a movie like this would just rake it in. I wonder why...

I think someone explained to me that although Scott Pilgrim was a cool movie, people liked the idea but not enough to go to a theater to actually watch it. Not really sure how that works... ~_~

lol, it wouldn't surprise me, actually. The video game/graphic novel crowd is pretty notoriously apathetic and lazy (myself included, I guess).

I guess, but the minor gaming references makes gamers chuckle to themselves, and the movie's funny in its spontaneity and little comic-styled onomatopoeia.

And even if it didn't appeal to the gamer/graphic novel community, I thought it could attract other crowds too, but it didn't happen... ><

Yeah, I don't know what's up with that. Even if you're not really into graphic novels or video games, it was still a funny and enjoyable story, the acting was good, and I also thought the CGI worked really well in the action scenes. I still haven't read all the books, but I'm on the 3rd volume and I'm already really impressed at how well they captured most of the plot, details, etc. from the original story.

I kinda blame the advertising for the reason why the movie did so poorly. It really didn't do a good job selling the movie (in the sense that it didn't make the movie all that appealing to people) which was a shame because it's a really good movie.

You know, I think you might be right. I actually don't think I even heard much of anything about it before it came out, and even then I had no idea what the actual story was or what to expect going in.

PS: love Yosuke Hanamura.

Ah, I guess so. I only saw subway ads and thought "Ok, a guy with a bass guitar." Then I read the caption below it ("An epic of epicness") and thought "Ooh, how clever."

Then I dismissed until my brother told me how awesome it was.
I wonder if the advertising crew for Scott Pilgrim expected people to recommend the movie to their friends and then have a chain reaction, because it didn't work... :/

I just saw this movie at school the other day. Someone was playing it on one of the TVs at school. I had intended to rent it to watch in the comfort of my home so I tried not to pay attention to it, but it was so interesting I couldn't tear my eyes away and ended up watching the whole movie!

I plan to rent it again and maybe even buying it eventually!

There really wasn't a lot of advertising for this movie. The only reason I originally wanted to see it was because some of my friends suggested it to me. I ended up never going because I was too busy. :/ Looking at it now I should have seen it at the theater. It would have been awesome.

lol, I watched this this weekend, actually, because my dad brought it home and was like 'here you go, random movie present'. I thought it was fantastic! It did such a great integration of comic and film that I was just wowed. It's so great, I love the scene setups, the crazy depth cues in some of the scenes, and the fighting scenes. it's fantastic. D: love it.

The comic books were the first books to actually make me laugh aloud, and the movies were just as majestic~♡
But to those who complain about Michael Cera always playing the same character - good acting isn't making yourself seem like a different person, its making it seem like your in a different situation then you really are.
