Dameon sat behind his office desk doing some catch up paperwork from the last case he and his team had dealt with. It had been a long one, lasting for just over three weeks and they were all rather tired. This work had to be done though. If it wasn't done now then it would get shoved to the back of the desk and would most likely never see the light of day again for at least another few months and he had a feeling that the section boss wouldn't be too impressed if he did that. So, with a heavy sigh, he set to work finishing the last few pages before moving the paperwork to the 'completed' file on the right hand corner of his desk.
Now that that was out of the way Dameon looked out of the window and down at the bullpen where the rest of the team was assembled. There were only four of them in the team although there was usually six or seven. He didn't care though. His team worked just fine the way it was and he would not allow the section boss to try and bully her way into allowing a stranger to join the team without his permission. This team was like a family and he was intent on protecting taht family. Just then a call came in. The phone rung twice before he picked it up and listened. He sighed slightly, annoyed taht the break was officially over for the team, before shutting off teh phone call and walking out of his office and down the small set of stairs to the bullpen.
"Everyone to the briefing room," he said loudly. "We've got a new case, just arrived from New York this morning."
Alexis Magnus turned from her computer and gave her boss a curious look. She tossed her long, black hair over her shoulder and smirked at him. She guessed from the slightly tired look on his face that he'd just been finishing off the paperwork. She was gald she wasn't the unit chief. She'd never be able to handle all taht paperwork. She was more of an action kind of girl and sitting behind a desk all day, filling out forms and writing reports really wasn't her style at all. She'd much rather be on the shooting range or something. It was far more interesting in her opinion anyway. Oh sure there was the usual work to be done after a case but that wasn't nearly as much as Dameon had to deal with so she was thankful for that at least.
"Be there in just a minute," she called back, turning back to her computer and quickly finishing up the paragraph she'd been working on and then saving the document. It was nearly done so she'd hand it in when they got back from this latest case. Then there would be another report to write...joy! She glanced at the other two team members before standing and following Dameon to the small briefing room at the back of the bull pen with a moniter set up to show details and images of the latest case.

Christopher was at his computer looking at facts on random things. He has finished all of his work already and was in the mood to learn more. He had been research facts on soil movements and how soil can in bed it self in the skin helping reliving time of death of a victim. That was until Dameon came down with a case. He quickly shut off his computer and made his way in to the other room. "So what are we dealing with this time?" He had his note book out and pencil ready to take notes. For some one in this line of work he was rather calm and very inquest on what the case would be. He love to catch the unsubs with using his brain power.
Amy Ritter usually did not go to the meeting in person. Her skills usually had her video conferencing over a computer or phone do to she was always researching data on her computers. Those this day she had been caught outside of her work space coming up for energy drink from the venting machine. Amy listen to Dameon and followed after Chris to the next room. She started to drink her energy juice as she listen to what was going to be the next case.

Once everyone was seated Dameon turned on the power point and began to run through the case. He frowned as the first slide on the power point showed five males, aproximately between the ages of twenty-five and thirty if you went by their appearance but that was unnecessary. Under each picture was a name and an age, placing them between the ages of twenty-three and twenty-nine.
"Recently," he began "There has been a string of homocides in New York. Now you might thing that this is normal for such a big city but these are clearly different. The victims are all young men of this aproximate age and, although some of the police members aren't willing to admit it, the higher ups believe that this is the work of a serial killer. His MO hasn't been the same for the while case but it is clear it's the same person. His signature is developing, getting more refined, and they're afraid that if they don't stop him now he may escilate, less time between kills and more frequent deaths."
"What does he do to his victims?" Alexis asked curiously, leaning forward in her seat to get a better look at the screen. Dameon grimaced slightly before hitting the button for the next slide. The pictures of the young men dissappeared to be replaced with some crime scene photographs and images of a body in the otopsy room.
"This," he replied simply. "The victims's bodies show clear signs of sexual asault but it has been found inconclusive whether they were tortured or not. The M.E. believes so but there isn't quite enough physical evidence to prove it without a shadow of a doubt."

Amy Ritter cringed when she saw the pictures of what happened to the men. She even looked away Amy did not have to stomach for seeing this type of pictures. "Is it over?" She was hoping Dameon changed the pictures from the pictures of the bodies in the autopsy room. She still was not looking at the screen. "Do you want me to pull there info to see if there any common links between the males? To see why the unsub choose them."
Christopher on the other hand was taking notes and looking at the screen. "Beside their age, sex and prove of assault is there any other other information we have on them before we get deeper in to this? Also who was the first victim and where were they kill and found that we knew of?" He wanted to know a little bit about the dump sites. Christopher looked to Dameon and stop writing his notes until he got his question answered.

Dameon took note of Amy's clear distress and quickly clicked to the next slide. It was a map of the New York area with a red circle already drawn. He picked up a marker, glad that this was an interactive board, and marked off dots within the circle.
"Here is where our victims lived and were attacked," he began. "The first victim, Nathaniel Green, 26, was a journalist working in Manhattin. He was the Unsub's first target, killed just over two months ago. The next victim was John Hopkins, 27, and a local librarian. After that came Tom Marks, 23, Jared Petri, 29 and, finally, the latest victim, Daniel O'Neill, aged 28." As Dameon had spoken he'd written the names of each individual by a dot and stepped back, looking closely at the map.
"Do you know how many people are in New York?" Alexis asked incredulously. "We can narrow it down but that still leaves us with a lot of people. It's a huge area to cover."
"Which is why they want us there as soon as possible," Dameon pointed out. "Any more questions before we leave?"

Amy just shook her head and finally looked at the screen once more. "I better get in to my office and start pulling up more info on them. I'm starting to wonder about the others jobs because it seem like the first two had some thing to do with information. With the first being a journalist he in charge of getting the information out there and with the second one was a librarian some one in control of keep information safe and making it easy for people to find it."
Christopher listened to Amy as he wrote down what she said. Those he was not sure about it without know the others men's jobs. "Dameon? What were the other mens jobs? To even see if that is even a possible. Also how were they display when they were found?" He would not rule that idea out but he wanted more information before he said any of more about it. "I guess we could talk more about it in on the road or int he air as it may be." He nodded. "We won't know more information until we visit the the crime scenes and the dump sites."

"According to the records they were employed as a secritary, a website designer and an archaeoligist respectively," Dameon answered. "So your theory about information may hold some water. We won't know for sure until we can create a preliminary profile. We'll call you when we need the information streamed over to our work Space, Amy. Until then dig up as much as you can about the victims."
"According to the police reports all the bodies were staged the same way, the vicdtims were posed on the bed, curled on one side with their right arms lifted and covering their faces. The bodies were definitely moved post mortum and they were all covered by their blanket, alost like they were sleeping although the positioning of the arm is unusual as it covers the face."
"We can get a better feel for it when we reach New York," Alexis commented, glancing at Dameon and then to Christopher and Amy. "I say we leave as soon as we can."
"The jet leaves in half an hour," Dameon informed them. "Grabg your Go-bags and we'll regroup on the plane." With taht he dismissed the team and quickly went to his own office where his go-bag was stored. He grabbed it and quickly made his way to where the plane was stationed, ready for use. Soon they would be off and in the air before landing in New York.

Amy nodded. "I'll keep you post on what I find. Have a save trip and come back soon." Soon Amy left the room taking her notes and heading in to her computer room. She punch in the names and each of the victims there ages and time of death. She was going to research each of there lives until she could give her team mates the answer they need. She was good at filling in the gaps by hacking through people lives through the computer.
Christopher nodded. "Of course." He pack up his paper and notes. He know they could talk more on the jet those he had so many questions to ask. He had a few theories but he would not be able to really make them solid until he saw the crime scenes. Christopher moved to wear he kept his travel bags and headed with the other to the jet. He board on to it making him self comfy. He started to play a game of chess by himself.

As Dameon entered the plane he was unsurprised to see Christopher was the first oen to board. He was already playing a game of chess against himself and Dameon felt a small smile pull at the corners of his lips as he watched the slightly younger genius move a piece on the board.
"You're here early," he commented, sitting down on the oposite side of the small table from Christopher.
Before he could say anything more to the young genius Alexis entered the room and smirked at the pair of them before taking a seat oposite on a side-ways facing chair so that she was facing them directly. Her go bag was over her shoulder but as she was sure that she wouldn't need it on the flight she stored it in the overhead luggage rack before turning to face the pair again. She raised an eyebrow as she noticed Christopher playing chess.
"Who's winning?" she asked casually, knowing that he was actually playing against himself. She always asked that when he, Christopher, played against himself.

Christopher was surprised to hear Dameon voice because he was so in to his own little world that any thing outside it would have made him jump a little. "Huh what?" He looked over seeing Dameon and smiled. "Oh yeah.. guess I am but then again I had no other work today." He just shrugged. Then he looked over to Alexis and back to the board to see what side was winning. "Well that hard to say. But I would have to say in two moves I think my other side will win."
He laughed. "The pattern set up seem to be lending that way any ways." Those when you looked at it on the board it looked like he was win and the other him was losing. Christopher finished off the game and sure enough the other side won in two move. "Well that was easy enough. So looks like we are all here huh Dameon."

Dameon and Alexis shared an amused look at Christopher's casual comment about winning in two turns and, sure enough, the genius was right. Alexis rolled her eyes at Dameon before flicking her eyes in the direction of Christopher and giving another eyeroll. Dameon chuckled slightly before turning back to the slightly younger genius.
"Well I have a copy of the case files notes here," he said, gesturing to the small briefcase that he had sat beside him. "We can look these over on our way to New York. Since the plane's just left it shouldn't take us too long to reach the city." He reached into the case and pulled out three copies of the report and handed one to Christopher and one to Alexis. They might as well try and get something done on the plane before they reached the city. It would give them a slightl advantage if they came into the police building fully briefed. Most local law enforcement weren't too fond of the feds coming in and 'taking over' their case when in reality all they were really there for was to observe and provide a profile to help catch the Unsub.
"Thanks," Alexis said, taking the file and beginning to flip almost casually through the pages of her copy of the report. She whistled as she came to the pictures of the crime scene that they had seen earlier with the bodies left where they had been found.

Christopher nodded then took the files. "Give me a little to read them over fully." He started to review the files and the more he look them over then more it seem Amy idea was being coming more true. He finish read them and looked back over to them. "I think there a lot of meirt in Amy idea of a start for the profile of the targets the unsub goes for."
Just then Dameon's cell phone went off it was Amy back in the office.

Before Dameon could answer his phone rang. He pulled it out of his pocket and checked the caller ID. The name "Amy" was there in large letters.
"Well speak of the tech," Dameon commented, slightly amused at the timing, before he pressed the 'answer' button and quickly put the phone on speaker and setting it on the small table between he and Christopher. Alexis leaned a little closer to listen. "You're on speaker Amy," Dameon told her.
"You've got something and we haven't even landed yet?" Alexis asked, surprised. "Damn girl! You work fast!"

"This isn't good new either, there another victim those this one a little different. The victim was 20 year old and was not sexual assault but looked about 30, his name is Ronny Cummings. He was not found like the other just left out in a trash can as if the victim was not wanted. Those it doesn't sound like our unsub because of this but some thing caught my eye. He worked for the same journal as the first victim Nathaniel Green did. So I thought I would let you know just encase you wanted to look in to his death as well." Amy as said as she was transferring over the data on the Ronny.
Christopher blinked he was not expect the phone to ring and it to be Amy. "What timing." He paused to listen to her report on what she found. "Huh what if the Unsub realized he killed some one not in the age range he likes that would explain why he just left him. As for the same journal as the first victim do you think he might try for some one from one of the other victims job. I mean maybe he will repeat this again."

"Thanks for that Amy," Dameon answered. He paused as he heard Christopher talk before tilting his head, deep in thought. Finally he broke himself out of it and replied to the genius member of the group. "That could be possible. Either that or he's devolving, going back to familiar patterns. Maybe he didn't have time to do what he intended to do and so dumped the body before he was caught."
"Or it's another guy," Alexis pointed out. "This could be another guy taking the opertunity to get rid of someone so taht everyone'll blame our unsub."
Dameon nodded his head in understanding. It was possible. They had to approach this from all angles and leave nothing to chance. "We'll take a look and see what we find. If he's connected it could mean taht the unsub is devolving and will go on a spree. Or he might just have been interupted. We won't know for sure until we've seen the evidence for yourselves.
"Thanks Aims," Alexis said, speaking a little louder to make sure taht Amy heard her on the other side of the phone line.

"Your welcome I'll keep you posted if I learn any thing esle. Bye for now." With that Amy hung up the phone and went back to working on her computer to see what esle she could find. She know this was distruping but this was all part of the job and which she could put her true skills to work.
"Yes your right we won't know for sure until we get to the crime scenes." Christopher nodded. "Well this seem like it going to be a long case if there any more of this murders the unsub is doing."

"So far there hasn't been a new report," Dameon answered. "I'm sure that there will be once we arrive. Our prescense may cause the unsub to escilate. That could mean he becomes careless and we catch him in the act. On the other hand it could mean that more people get hurt."
"That'll happen whatever we do," Alexis pointed out. "The best thing we can do for now is to catch this SOB before he has a chance to hurt too many more people. I mean, it'd be good if we could catch him before he attacks again but I doubt we'll be that lucky." Alexis may not be a pecimist but she was a realist and she knew that this case was going to be long and it would most likely take a tole on all of them.

Christopher looked between the two team mates. "Yeah if only we were that lucky. But we all know what will happen once we are there. Once the news get winds of it we are going have a harder time catching him. Well that is unless we can control what they releash. Those news people just want the next big story and don't seem to care about the people who could get hurt by it." Then he looked out of the window. "Soon we will be there I can see the city coming in to view now."

((Sorry it's taken me so long to reply to the RP. I've been offline for a while since I've been having some...technical difficulties...with my computer and since it's spring break right now for me I haven't been able to use a school or library computer. I'm really sorry about the delay))
!"I hate reporters," Alexis muittered darkly and decided to be quiet for the rest of the ride. Deciding to have some alone time she picked up her bag and moved to the back of teh plane to the farthest seat. She felt the need for a little alone time so she could finish reading the book she'd started a few days ago - The Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb.
"Reporters can have their uses," Dameon pointed out. "For now we just need to make sure that they don't focus too strongly in this unsub. We can't have them giving him a name or a title. That could make things worse." He glanced out the window along with Christopher and caught sight of their intended destination. He felt a small yawn stretch his mouth and hastily covered it up. Now was not the time. He could rest later but it was important that they got to work straight away once they reached their destination.
