I don't think there's a thread about this yet...

Anyway, has anyone else read the House of Night series? What did you think of it?

I tried it, and I can't say that I liked it very much. ^^;;; I'm sure you're wondering why I made a thread for it if I don't like it, but I want to see other people's opinions. So... Any thoughts?

I loved it, even though I'm a bit older than the demographic it's aimed at. I just really liked the plot and everything, not so much the characters or their ridiculous dialogue.

I've read the first five or six, but I didn't really like them that much either.

I actually liked the plot and the concept behind it, which is why I read them. I just found the characters and the dialogue to be really annoying; they came across as typical obnoxious teenagers to me, to be honest. Well, except for Damien and Jack; they were pretty much the only characters I liked. xD

i <3 the whole series, im about halfway thru the newest book, so no spoilers please! XD
the thing i liked it that ALL of the charaters have more than just one dimension about them, unlike twilight. Like how apriodite is orriginaly mean then (kinda) goes nice, and how nerfet (spelling?) was all nice in pretty but is evil. and how zoey is maturing thought the novels, like learning more and building a history with each of the characters.

where as tiwilight bella is just stupid and falls head over heals in love and only cares about edward (and at times her family when she thinks they are gonna have vampires after them) but i guess its an ENTIRELY differnt plot human/vampire love.

i <3 house of night, cant get enough of it. they should make movies of it :) i think i like how each character is equaly represended and has thier own story/thoughts and stuff :) AMAZING AMAZING BOOK, <3 <3 <3 I CANT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT IT

(me age 19, in college, as for my reading level/ interests in general-i like scifi and fantases, when im not reading manga XD but atm i dont read as much as i would like due to school/work....hope this helps as far as the type of ppl that read books like these, seeing as how one person said it was not in their age group, personaly i dk about age group, if im interested then ill read it. i used to read H.G. Wells when i was in middle school....but i guess ive regressed to easy readers cus i just wanna sit and enjoy a book not study the thing like school work >.<;;)

I read the 8 that are out so far, and I'm really only reading it now to see what happens, I really don't like it very much. The characters are very predictable, you always know who's going to say what, and how many times can you really say "brown pop" in a book without sounding stupid? FFS it's Coke or Pepsi, pick one. I also hate the way they talk, and somewhere in the middle of book 4 they start saying things like "Oh my Goddess" and "Goddess this" and "Goddess that" when it was not mentioned at all before. It's little things like that which gave me the impression halfway through that the author isn't trying for the story so much as for the tween opinions anymore.

So yeah, not very well written, bad characters and very predictable. Not fun :(

AWEFUL. I read 50 pages. Probsbly THE worstbook i;ve ever read. If sometihng like that could get published then so could the writings of a chimp. Makes twilight look like an academic masterpeice.

There, breif but i've said all I need to I think.

Noooo, I have to disagree with Eastriel! I loved the House of Night novels at first, before I started hating the main character with all my guts. She was a great heroine at first, but after a while she just became too perfect for me to handle. However, when comparing House of Night with Twilight, House of Night still tops in my book. At least it has a more concrete idea and a unique setting.
