Imagine you are given the opportunity to step through a time machine, and you decide to take up the mysterious strangers who invented it up on their offer. But you can only go to one certain time period, which is already established and cannot be changed. What would you guess it would be? 2072? 1865? 1600s? If those were your guesses, you're wrong.

If you were to step into this freaky time machine these strangers offered you to use, of course you wouldn't heed your mother's warnings of not talking to strangers, you would be taken to the 1940s in central Germany, which is where this roleplay takes place. Berlin in the early 1940s was not a happy place, and was not sunshine and lollipops.

Now don't think this is some kind of being sent back in time roleplay. The previous tale of the time machine was merely to establish the setting of this roleplay. And it's a dark setting indeed.

It's 1939. Hitler has hailed for six years and it doesn't seem like he's going to lose power any time soon. Things are getting worse and worse for Germany with every passing second, but most find it futile to resist. People are dying, babies are crying, and the Nazis are smiling.

In every situation, a person has a preference or alliance as to where they stand in the situation. Agree, disagree, play both sides, stay neutral, etc. Good & evil, light & dark, right & wrong.

And this is where you come in to hand.

Juliet has been a wonderer, an outcast, an unwanted for all of her life. She’s a Gypsy, what does one expect? Her kind is given the worst of reputations, and her family moved around from place to place, trying to find acceptance. They once found a Gypsy town and lived in peace for three years, before she watched her mother and father get brutally murdered by Hitler’s soldiers. Her and her brother joined the Rebel movement to take down the dictator, her brother becoming an undercover solider and herself being one of the main leaders of the Rebel movement.

Unlike most Gypsy stereotypes, Juliet is not a witch or an ‘easy’ girl or anything of that nature. She’s smart and stubborn, with a hot temper. She’s carefree and far from uptight, and believes in hope to the fullest of her abilities. She loves going from place to place, seeing new things and meeting new people. She’s not desperate for anything permanent; she’s only desperate for the end of Hitler’s reign. Her only grudge against a person is him, and her intelligence and quick thinking put her at the top of the chain in the Rebel movement. Her only fear is her brother getting hurt while under cover. She loves to dance and the water, and hates people trying to control what she does. A major downfall to Juliet is that because of traumatic past experiences, she refrains from getting too close to others in fear of losing them or them hurting her. Though once you have gained her trust she will be forever loyal.

Juliet was trained by her brother to fight hand to hand combat, and with guns and knives. She has killed someone before, but will only go so far as to kill someone if she knows that if she doesn’t they will kill her. The instance where she has killed someone was when she was raped by a Nazi.

Demetri grew up with a close knit, typical Gypsy family. He traveled constantly with his family and a few other Gypsy families that his own was very close to, and was taught that family was one of the most important things in life. He has always protected his baby sister, and, like her, seeks revenge on Hitler and the men who killed his parents. He’s an undercover Rebel member posing as a Nazi, and has gained the trust of many Nazi generals. He knows of this and uses it to his advantage, often sneakily killing or leading Nazi forces into deathly traps.

Demetri is a great actor; able to portray any emotion easily if need be. He’s actually a very nice and caring guy with a big heart, but he, like his sister, has a short Gypsy temper. He’s very free spirited but determined to accomplish anything he puts his mind too. He’s an excellent fighter and very calculating, and always sticks up for the underdog. He helps refugees, Jews, and anyone hiding from Hitler escape as much and most as he can. It takes a long time for him to trust people, but he has a very friendly nature. He’s become a bit hardened since the murder of his parents and what he has seen posing under cover, but his sister manages to loosen him up a bit.

He honestly struggles being under cover, and tends to trap his emotions inside. He does not know of his sister being raped. He once fell in love with a girl, and after proposing he had to leave for a week due to orders. After that week he returned to Rebel headquarters and learned she had been murdered.

Growing up in Germany with her parents and older sister, Jenna had an easy life you could say. Both of her parents were compassionate Doctors that wold give care to any sick person. When the war came they helped many Jew's to safety. Until one stormy day the Nazi's came. Someone had found out that her parents had been helping the Jews and came to make an example out of them. After murdering both her parents in a horrific way, making her watch, they proceeded to rape and kill her older sister. For reasons unknown they soldiers left her there untouched. Maybe they thought that was enough to scare into be a "good" German. Well it did the opposite. After that horrible day Jenna became a rebel.

Jenna can be cold and tough. Watching her family be murdered hardened her and made her the women she is now. She doesn't have normal emotions anymore. Occasionally you'll catch her smiling and it's beautiful. Her smile lights up her whole face. If she trusts you she's a lot warmer towards you. But gaining her trust is hard. She became an excellent fighter and knows her weapons. Killing doesn't bother Jenna at all. In fact she sort of enjoys it.

A German rebel. She's the go to women for anything to do with weapons and killing. Jenna usually takes the job if someone needs to be killed.

Deep down Jenna just wants to be her old self again. She want's to be able to feel her emotions and not be so cold.

German born, German raised. Nik was one of the many that were caught up and dazzled by Hitler's promises and words. He wanted a world where everything was perfect, no worries, no crime, all those other things. He was egged on by his parents to enlist for a greater cause. To please his parents, and to attempt to do his part.. he did. He was one of the few more decent soldiers in the corrupt army. Even if he did kill, and arrest, he was fair enough. As fair as anyone could be in that situation. While he did follow most orders, he would Never kill an innocent female or child. He didn't care what kind of punishment he could suffer. It just wasn't right in his books. Even with some of his disobedience, he was loyal to his leader. He never did know what happened to those whom he arrested and turned in. He didn't care. Now however, he's beginning to see things he didn't use to see. The illusion of a greater world isn't what he thought it would be. In his mind, how could it be that to get a greater world, they'd have to kill so many people. What they actually did. They weren't any better than low murderers and scum. But since he's too deep in, he isn't sure how he can get out without causing shame, and death to himself and his family.

Nik absolutely hates people that just judge someone by appearances. He was raised to be a decent, hardworking man. He adores children and their curious nature. When he's wearing his uniform however, he is straight to the point and refuses to defy his superiors. Unless they conflict with his own views. One of the things he is terrified of is that all the wrong he's done will come bite him in the ass. He knows what he's done, and now he's trying to figure out some form of way to help out. Without directly becoming a traitor to his own country.

The reason why he refuses to kill women and children is because once, he had accidentally killed a Jewish mother who was trying to protect her child while being taken away to a concentration camp. He's regretted it ever since.

Ariel was born into a family of one hardworking and a father that was never there. Her mother was Jewish and her father was German. He wasn't talked about much. The only thing she really knew was his name, and that she got some of her looks from him. Especially her saphire blue eyes. Not something you'd find in her mothers genes. She did have a younger brother, but he died as an infant. Maybe it was for the better. They would have never been able to feed another mouth. Her mother was a shoemaker and a seamstress. She worked long hard hours to provide for them both.

When the war on her own people came around, it was hell. Everything she knew was changed for the worse. No more going out dancing at night, no more fun, no more safety. She and her mother were hiding from the Nazi, praying every day not to be taken away. She'd heard stories of what happened to Jews when they were picked up. One day when she had gone to get food from a closeby friend and neighbor, she came back to find her home broken into and empty. Her thoughts went automatically to the Nazi and the possibility that they had taken her mother away.

Before she had to hide out in her home, she used to be quite social. She was never without a friend or escort to a social event. This didn't mean she participated in any unbecoming things. She never did mind getting her hands dirty, if it was to a good cause. Hates Hitler and the Nazi for ruining so many lives, including her own.Due to her half german genes, and german name she is able to play the part of a normal girl. However, this only works if they're not paying too much attention to her. Or ask her for her full name.

Rayne grew up constantly moving around with his family, as gypsies are wont to do. As he grew older, he realized the places they stayed at were always on the outskirts of the outskirts of a major town. There, all the unsightly jobs - the unwanted jobs - were to be found; perfect for a gypsy. After noticing this trend, though, Rayne decided he didn't want to just be on the outskirts of the outskirts of major towns - he wanted to roam around the towns themselves. He wanted to see everything they contained, whether it be the secrets they hid or the public events he had no knowledge of. Leaving his family was the harderst thing he ever did, but he swore to himself that it'd be worth it in the end.

Always the optimist, Rayne looks toward a brighter tomorrow, no matter how dreary today is. This doesn't go to say he's naive, though, because while he hopes for the best, he still expects the worst. Similarly, he believes everyone has a conscience and wishes that they'll do the right thing, but isn't surprised when that's not the case. He also understands the need for punishment and revenge, but dislikes those who are cruel without reason or unreasonably cruel. Whenever he witnesses such scenes, he can't help but intervene. Of course, he never reveals much about himself; he worries that too many connections will tie him down. When not out people watching, Rayne likes to paint, interact with animals, and sprint across the rooftops. Ironically enough, his biggest fear is fire.

Since Rayne tries to stay out of fights as best as he can, hardly anyone knows that while he is awkward-looking, he is one damn good fighter. Scrappy at times, but good. This is all thanks to the fights that would break out at the gypsy campsites. But Rayne doesn't really consider that a "secret", just a nice element of surprise. What he does consider a secret, though, is the fact that he can neither read nor write. Growing up, he never had any sort of education, it's the one downside he sees to being a gypsy.
