Heya GD, so I just finished trimming my hair myself and I was just wondering how many people cut hair? How about their own hair? Are you any good at that or is it just good enough to pass?

I can barely cut/style hair so meh. xDD I can only seem to do it for myself, really.

I can do a trim on myself. I do not trust myself with other people's hair unless it's my sister or someone like that. XD As long as my hair looks mostly even then I am okay with it.

I prefer cutting my own hair because I hate it when other people do it and get it too short, or too long and I have to end up trimming it anyway. Besides that, once you cut your hair for so long with the same style, it becomes second nature almost xD

I used to use these actual hair-trimming clippers, but my brother decided he was going to play with them and they were doomed to a horrible life of . . . Dullness. Now I have to use my own scissors that I hide in my room ;w;

I recently cut my friend's hair, and dyed it. I think it turned out pretty nice, and she liked it, but it was definitely rough. It was fun and terrifying at the same time.

I have cut my own hair for years! It's to my mid back and layerd around my face, I'm not that good, but it passes haha no one notices my choppy job! But honestly, for the first time in years, I got my hair cut a couple of months ago (my neighbor is a stylist and is super sweet and did it for free!) and she layered the back.... it looks amazing, my hair would never have looked this good if I tried to layer the back myself haha And when it comes to other peoples hair, hide the scissors if you want to be able to go out in public without a hat...

I cut my own hair, or have friends or family do it. I've gotten it professionally cut before, but didn't really care for the style.
And I'm too shy to really tell them how I want it (bad on my part, I know) which is why I cut it or have those close to me cut it.
But the cuts I want aren't extravagant or complicated. Lately it's just been shaving one side and that's not hard to do. :lol:

Some kids at my school didn't like me
so they threw a giant wad of gum in my
hair, it wasn't much of a fuss so I just
grabbed a pair of scissors and cut it off.
It was at the top of my head so it kinda just
stood up.

I cut my own bangs, mostly because they require a trim every few weeks or so and paying four bucks every time I need an inch lopped off tends to add up. I'd never try actually...styling or cutting the bulk of my hair. Attempted it when I was four with a pair of safety scissors. Didn't work out too well.

I think I'll just leave it to the experts.

I usually work it out with peanut butter or honey. xD

Ohwow MiyuMiyu, I've only trusted myself to try cutting my bangs recently because the last time I did it I was in like 4th grade and I completely chopped them off. So I had to wear headbands to cover the fluffy "bangs" xDD It was embarrassing and hilarious! :3 I even scanned my face XD

So far the majority who've replied seem to like cuttin' their own or having friends/family do it~ Neat-o~

I would be afraid to try to cut my own hair.

I actually used to trim my own bangs occasionally when I was about thirteen and they would get too long in between haircuts, but I wouldn't trust myself to actually cut the rest of it. I would worry that it would turn out horribly uneven or something.

I've always gone to a place in town owned by a friend of my mother's, so I actually know the person that cuts my hair and everything. The unfortunate part is, I can actually see myself being so antisocial that I start cutting my own hair when I'm older just to avoid having to find someone else to do it. xD

I've never tried cutting my own hair. My mom usually ends up giving me a trim now and then, but other then that it's the hairdresser. Bur I don't go often because I'm trying to grow my hair and strong shampoo and stuff makes it go completely frizzy.

I trim my own bangs, since I can't afford to get them cut every month. xD I don't trim my hair, I have my family do that for me, and I've layered my own hair.

I've only cut all of my hair once and it was actually OK. I did hold my head upside down, wrap a scruchie around my hair, and cut it like that, though. XD; (I read about it on a few different sites and wanted to try it out for myself.) Besides that one time, I usually just trim my bangs 'cause I like them to be longer, but not over my glasses.

I cut my own hair and have for several years now. :yes:

My hair has grown out to the point where stylists charge me extra just to deal with it. It's best to just save the money and occasionally trim it at home. The process isn't hard and I can guarantee that no one will cut off my length than I'm prepared to part with. It's a win-win situation!

Ouchh xD Yeah, I tried cutting my hair by myself when I was in preschool. I don't remember -why- I thought it was such a good idea, but then again when you're four years old, anything is a good idea. I remember standing in my basement with a pair of scissors just lopping off chunks of my hair. I didn't even have the foresight to stand in front of a mirror while I did it. Perhaps if I had, I would have seen how terrible it looked while I was doing it and ceased.

I have never cut my own hair.xD and plan on never cutting it myself.:P

Up until I was seventeen my father would cut my hair. Not by request, and he was a terrible one. It was always uneven and horribly layered, and stood on end.

I've not cut my hair for ten years, save for keeping it at its usual length of just below my waist and making sure those dead ends go away. Even so, I'm only ever mistaken for a girl if someone is far away from me.

I don't trust myself to cut my own hair. I can't do it. I go to a salon place and just have them do it. Much less stress on my part. I rarely get my hair cut though, because I'm trying to grow it out. It's going pretty well so far. I don't have bangs so I have no need to trim anything. Maybe if I did have bangs I would try to trim them myself. Maybe. On second thought, probably not. I'd probably fail beyond belief. Nope, I'm good. So far I've have no problems with the professionals. I'll just leave it to them.

@MiyuMiyu Pfftt. XD I used to only cut one-side of my head in preschool! So one side is like naturally more thinner than the other side sort of and took years to look just a bit normal. X'D I can't stand having one side bushier now so I layered the other side recently so that it matches the right-side of my head more. ;w;

@Knerd Ohh, fun ;w; Yes I remember when I asked for my haircut the lady looked at me shocked, because it was down to my chest by then.. And I wanted it ABOVE my shoulders XD She kept asking if I was sure and the stupid lady didn't cut it short enough, so I just told my mom to whack off a few more inches for me. xD

My mother cuts my hair. She used to be a hair stylist, so it's cool, and I'm not worried about telling her exactly what I want, even if it's something weird (hasn't happened yet, but chances are it will). But I don't trust myself to cut other people's hair. XD My mother gave me a pair of scissors a couple of times and said "cut the dead ends" and I ended up staring at the back of her head for about ten minutes before she yelled at me and said it was just trimming and I was going to do it whether I liked it or not.

I only trust myself to cut paper. :P

I always get mine professionally cut if I have the money, but other than that I get my mum to do it and it always seems to come out nice.

I haven't been to the hairdressers in almost 6 years... I sometimes cut my friends' hair too but nothing overly complicated I guess, just a little layering or a trim is fine.

It's fun cutting your own hair!
This way, you only have yourself to blame if you look like an idiot. xD

i took a hair class in high school so i can cut and dye my (and anyone elses) hair as i please. :D

I don't cut my own hair. I'll mess it up even more than other people do LOL

Yeah, my hair is almost to my waist and I'm planning to get it cut just above my shoulders. That I am very nervous about. I'm going to this one girl who is a friend of my friends. I've seen her work and I think I will trust her.
