If I want to see male strippers, I'll go on a road trip to the province next to mine and see real ones.

it's actually pretty funny. all the stripping scenes made me laugh. i don't know if there's something wrong with me, but i thought it was hilarious. The girl next to me in the theatre was having an orgasm though or something >_>
i'd say it's a good movie. it actually has a plot...

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to disagree with some of y'all up there.

I saw the trailer for Magic Mike a while ago, found out that Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, and Matt Bomer were going to be in it, and almost died. I told myself this was a movie I would pay to watch. This was a movie I would go to the midnight premiere for. This was a movie I would watch twice.

My friend managed to get us advanced screening passes to the movie the week it was supposed to premiere, so I ended up not paying anything, and thank god because I would have demanded my money back. The first thirty minutes were pure bliss, I'll give it that. The stripping scenes were HILARIOUS and everyone was just so sexy and hot and asdfjk. But then a supposedly comedic film turned serious. Dramatic. Boring. Tatum has a love interest who can barely act (we looked her up on IMDB after the movie...turns out she's the daughter of the President and COO of Warner Bros...) and Pettyfer gets caught up in a conflict that was unsatisfactorily resolved in the end. In fact, the ending was so abrupt, I almost didn't realize the movie ended until the credits started rolling.

Now all of that could've been ignored, maybe, if the production had been better. But it wasn't. The cuts were goddamn awful and choppy and made for awkward transitions throughout the movie (and I know some people are going to be like cut Tatum some slack, he's a stripper turned actor turned producer, but he also produced 21 Jump Street and the transitions in 21 Jump Street were much better).

Maybe I was tired when I watched it. Maybe I had expectations that were too high. But this movie was disappointing for me.

Then again, I watched the advanced screening. Maybe they made some changes. If they added more Bomer scenes, I'm willing to pay and go through the torture again.

Haha I know, and I respect everyone's views. Even rotten tomatoes gave it a high rating, to my surprise xD

My friend watched it last week. She said that the movie was good overall. She thought that there were a few awkward scenes. For example, when they start training on the pole. These are her words, not mine. I still can't believe Matthew McConaughey got cast in it.
