I want to get my boyfriend an acoustic for Christmas, but I don't know which is the best one. He plays just about every day on one of his three electrics, so I want one that sounds good and lasts long. And he's always wanted an acoustic. What do you recommend and why? Thank you.

How much do you want to spend?
If you do not have a price limit, Taylors are awesome. Mind you they'll cost at least 1000 on up depending on the model. But yeah, Taylors I recommend over almost anything else for someone that is really into their music. I just like the overall sound and feel of them.

Well I asked him (while he was drunk...sneaky) what his favorite brand is. He said Martins but they are usually around 1200+, so I asked for his second favorite which is Gibson. I looked at the two brands on Guitar Center and the cheapest out of the two was the Martin. It was around 699. So I have to wait until my next paycheck cause I only have 613. There were other Martins cheaper, but they were for beginners and little people.

Yeah, Martins are nice too. Some of the cheaper Martins make this "buzzing" noise, I guess you could say the more expensive ones are worth the money. That's the only thing bad about guitars is the price of them. That's really the only reason I only own three guitars. :P

He has a Gibson, Epiphone, and Izbane or something like that. I can't remember what it was called. I do know that I'm getting him a large jar of picks, because he keeps breaking and losing them.

Haha. Yeah picks and strings are the one thing any guitar player can't have enough of. I always end up putting mine in some odd place then before I know it I don't have any left. XD
