Straw slippers padded softly against the metal floors as a girl walked down the quiet hallway. The fluorescent lights above illuminated the tears and holes all over her sakura-printed pink kimono, emphasizing just how worn-out the robe was. In one pale hand, the girl held a large, plastic bag. The other hand rested on the sleek, black and gold sheath of her sword, tied neatly to the dark red obi that was wrapped around her small waist.

The doorway before her slid open once she was close enough and the girl was greeted with sunlight pouring in from the large floor-to-ceiling window that made up one of the walls of the largest room in the T tower. Blinking a bit, she scanned the room with her dark brown eyes.

One... Wait, just one?

"Hey Katana, what took you so long?!" A green-haired, green-skinned teen boy jumped up from the long couch in the middle of the room and ran up to her.

"Sorry Beast Boy, the line at the restaurant took forever." She replied with a smile, giving the plastic bag to him while they headed for the kitchen.

"You got my fried tofu right?"

"Yup. Where's everyone else?"

"Well, Starfire and Raven are hanging out in Starfire's room, Cyborg's in the garage and I dunno where Robin went." Beast Boy replied, already pulling out the styrofoam boxes.

"That's weird. Maybe we should call him." Katana pulled out her communicator from her pocket.

"Dunno if you should do that, he likes his alone time ya know." The green-haired boy said with a mouth full of fried tofu. The taller girl shook her head though decided he was right.

"True, hey don't eat everything! You gotta call the others!!"

Robin watched as the sun set slowly behind the T tower from the ceiling of a small building on the main land. He gave a small sigh, feeling a bit anxious. Its only been a few months but it felt so much longer than that since he saw his best friend. Well... former best friend. He did hate to view Wally as that, but he had no choice. He wasn't the Robin he was before back at Mount Justice and Wally needed to finally see that.

Suddenly, he felt someone behind him. Robin took a deep breath and pushed himself off the railing. Spinning around, he gave a hard stare through his mask to the familiar former sidekick.

"Kid Flash."

He had tried to convince Robin to come back countless times. He had even taken up permanent residence in the area while he was trying to persuade him to come back. But he just wouldn’t be moved. And, the speedster could not handle the rate at which things were moving. Luckily for him, a certain pink haired witch had kept him busy between his runs of the city and his unsuccessful meetings with Robin. But, he couldn’t put it off any longer.

“Robin.” He acknowledged. His arms crossed as he returned the hard look his friend was giving him. “I got another update from the team... They need us back; the remaining members of the league left to go help...They’re battling an enemy out in space - leaving the team to deal with things here on earth.” He informed the glowering bird. Maybe if he could just convince him how much he was needed...
“They’ve asked me to come back... with or without you. So I’ll be taking Jinx and heading back to Mount Justice tomorrow...” Kid shifted his feet, never being one to stand still for too long.

“Look...They need us Robin. You can’t tell me you don’t care. They’re our friends... Even if you’ve moved on and found a new team, you can’t just sit back and do nothing! Whatever grudge you have with Batman, you need to get over it.” He said, finding himself getting worked up. He knew Robin was stubborn – hell, he used it to annoy him at times. But Robin was never one to leave his friends.

“Oh! I smell food!” Cy said, clapping his hands together as he entered the common room. “And that rubber-like substance Beast-Boy likes to pass as food.” He said, making a face as Beast Boy stuffed his.

Raven and Starfire decided to make their appearance as well. “Oh! Friend Katana! This is a most wonderful feast you have brought for us!” She said, floating over and giving the girl one of her bone-crunching hugs. “But where is friend Robin? Does he not wish to partake in the eating of this taking-out?”

Kaldur frowned up at the big screen, Kid wasn’t responding. He had been gone for months... and things around here were getting worse. Their team of six had gone down to four...and although Wondergirl had joined in – they were still feeling the absence of their two old teammates. Though kid was just out for a mission – he could tell the team was missing them both.

“Any news?” Meghan asked, floating in from the kitchen. Kaldur shook his head.

“Kid should have contacted us by now...”

“Well... Maybe he’s still with Robin.” Meghan offered with a hopeful smile.

“You think he’d be quicker about it...Then again, he only runs fast.” Artimis said, joining the conversation. “Wasn’t he supposed to come back today?”

“Tomorrow.” Kaldur corrected.

At that moment a blonde girl, entered a smile on her face. “Oh! Does that mean I’m going to finally meet those two you guys are always talking about?” She said, sounding pleasantly surprised. The dangles off of her wristbands chiming together as she approached.

“We are uncertain at the moment.” Kaldur said, sounding as sombre as the rest of the group looked.

Katana took in a deep breath to replenish the air she lost when the alien girl hugged her. Rubbing her arms, she turned to her friend. "I'm not sure. Apparently he's out being all loner-ish." She replied, "At least that's what Beast Boy said, but he might not be the right person to have asked..."

"Wha?"

"Nothing, go back to your tofu." The green-haired teen blinked, then shrugged as he continued to scarf down food with Cyborg. Katana turned to Raven who was watching the pair with slight disgust.

"Raven, should we call Robin?" She asked her politely. The shorter girl glanced at her and raised an eyebrow.

"Why are you asking me?"

"Because you're a loner too. I thought it'd be great to ask someone who's not as dumb as Beast Boy."

"Wait what?!"

"Nothing!" Katana turned back to Raven and smiled, "Well?"

"Leave him alone."

"... Seriously? Man, I thought you'd give me some other piece of wisdom."

"You guys will be fine, you always have been." Robin replied calmly, leaning against the railing, "There's no reason for me to come back. I have my own team to take care of now. The League doesn't need me any longer." Even though his anger was directed mostly at Batman, he had decided to turn his back on everything League-related. Like he stated, there was no need for him. However, it did hurt a lot to have to say good-bye one last time to his best friend. That and having to turn back on his other old friends. But this was the path he had taken and there was no second chance.

"Just go back Wally, this is where I belong now." His voice took a softer, more nostalgic tone which he soon covered up a moment later, "Have a safe trip with your girlfriend." Without another word, Robin stepped onto the railing and jumped off the building. He launched his grappling hook, grabbing onto another building and swinging towards his new home.

"He's not coming back." A large teen announced, walking into the room with a giant white wolf following behind him. A scowl adorned his handsome face. Though he was incredibly angry at the Boy Wonder's decision, he still understood the reasons behind it. Not getting acknowledged, no matter how much he tried. Yes, Robin had accepted it in the beginning, but when the time came when he felt ready to be the leader, it was denied to him. Him leaving may have seemed like a betrayal, but Superboy had a feeling it might have been to prove something, both to the League and to himself.

He could respect that part of his decision, but could not forgive him for leaving them all. He could never leave M'gann and the others.

Wally shook his head as he watched his friend leave. Sighing, he resigned himself to the fact that Robin wasn't going to budge and ran back to his apartment. He chuckled at the sight that met him - Jinx currently jumping on a piece of luggage trying to zip it up. She glared when she heard him laughing, but stopped when she saw his expression fall. "No luck?" She asked, walking over to him. She placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"Not even bad luck...He just wont budge."

"Hmm, you must have used all your persuasive abilities on me than...Getting me to agree to go meet another group of your hero friend. Bleck." She said, smiling softly. "Now come on, we need to finish packing... I don't know how you managed to fit so much stuff in this tiny apartment!"

The group let out a collective sigh at Superboy's statement. And Wondergirl crossed her arms. Whoever this Robin kid was, he was gonna get a beating whenever she met him. He sent the group into a large angsty fit whenever they thought about him. Men, they're so troublesome. She mused to herself before an alarm went off over the intercom, and the screen popped up, showing video footage of a robbery taking place at this moment.

"I'll handle this guys," Wondergirl said, nodding to the group before flying off.

Kaldur watched her go with a somber expression. "This rise in criminal activity is very...unsettling." He said aloud - with a murmur of agreement from the others.

M'gann sighed, as she floated over to Superboy - letting her hand find his. "We can't give up just yet..." She said, trying to Reassure him...and herself.

"Robin... likes to be alone sometimes. On my planet we call it Kursbinakle. It is what one does when one is trying to pull the Kinkle worms from their head... In this case, I believe it is bad thoughts?" Starfire said, smiling softly towards Katana.

"Oh! There is friend Robin now." Starfire exclaimed excitedly, spotting Robin. "Friend Robin...do you wish to partake in the eating of the take-out? Katana went, and she brought back a wonderful selection of earths food that is fast!"

Katana smiled back, hiding her confusion at the back of her mind. Ku-whaty? She was about to respond when Starfire suddenly spun around to announce the arrival of their leader. Katan turned her gaze and grinned at him.

"Yeah and it's all coming from your pocket!" She added after the taller girl, giving him a thumbs up while Beast Boy and Cyborg cheered her on for doing something so crazy and reckless.

Robin blinked at his comrades but then smiled while shaking his head at their antics. All the dark emotions that had surfaced during his talk with Kid Flash melted away at the sight of his new team; an emotionless psychic, an overly-cheerful alien girl, a fun-loving cyborg, a shapeshifting jokester and an easy-going female samurai. Compared to his old team back at Mount Justice, this group was basically a group of misfits. Misfits that he held close to his heard. There was no way he could turn back on them after all they've been through these past couple of months.

The masked teen was snapped out of his thoughts by Cyborg's yell. "Hey, we're going to finish your share if you keep standing around!" To emphasize his point, he took a chicken leg from the box labeled 'Robin' and ripped the meat off the bone with his teeth. He then began to chew loudly, earning him disgusted looks from Raven, Beast Boy and Katana.

"Dude, if you're gonna eat meat, chew with your mouth close!" Beast Boy yelled. The half-robot tried to respond, but the chicken meat was blocking his speech. A few pieces spewed out from his mouth and onto BB's clothes, making the green-skinned boy screech in disgust. A fight ensued as the two other girls gracefully avoided it while still enjoying their food. Robin chuckled at the scene before him and took his plate once the two guys brought their fight to the main room.

"Thanks for the food guys."

Superboy wanted to tell M'gann to just move on, that Robin was not coming back whatsoever. But, he couldn't bring himself to do it with that expression on her face. Mentally sighing, he gave her hand a squeeze. "Fine." He mumbled, hoping that would be enough to make her smile, even just a little bit.

"What do you suppose we do then?" Artemis inquired, hating the feeling of helplessness. Stupid Kid. Stupid Robin. It's all their faults. One had to be dumb and bring his personal problems to the team. The other had to be clingy and follow the first all the way to wherever he ran away to. She didn't want to admit that she missed either boy because she was just too furious on the mess that was left for her and the others to clean up.

Another alarm rang out and a screen appeared, revealing a familiar foe. "Killer Frost..." The blond mumbled as she turned to the team's leader, "What do you want to do about her?"

The titans continued on with their antics, before Beast Boy and Cyborg started fighting over the remote. Cyborg won this round, and was now flipping through channels while a defeated Beast Boy pouted in the corner. "Hey Kat, why don't we gang up on him so he doesn't make us watch some stupid mechanics show." Beast Boy grinned, turning around in the couch to talk to the samurai.

"And what would you have us watch? The discovery channel? No way man!" Cy said, making a face at Beast Boy as he continued to search through the channels. He stopped briefly on a news report claiming an increase in criminal activity - but he switched channels before he could hear where it was at. As far as he was concerned, their city was safe and sound. Flicking through more channels, he stopped briefly on a gossip show because they were doing a piece on Gotham.

"Hey Robin, isn't that where you're from?" He asked, as the story continued in the background of Millionaire Bruce Wayne and his new Girl - Diana Prince.

Just as Kaldur was about to speak, the alarm went off again. This time a photo of Cheshire appearing. Kaldur frowned for a moment before turning back to his team. "M'gann, Superboy I wan't you two to go take care of Killer Frost. I'll go with Artemis to deal with Cheshire." He said, nodding towards the group. "M'gann, can you connect us with Wondergirl."

'Wondergirl here, whats going on?'

'Seems like more people have come out to play, I want you too meet me and Artemis at-

'Woah! Can we hold on that? There was just an explosion a block down... I'm going to check it out.'

The connection was broken and Kaldur sighed. "Something feels off. I want you all to be careful... Lets head out."

"Awe man! I hate waiting for buses..." Jinx said, swinging her feet back and forth under the bench.

"Well... I could always get us there in a flash."

"Oh Ha ha AH!!" Kid laughed as he set her down in the main hall of Mount Justice, leaving only for a heartbeat to come back with their lugage to find Jinx standing in shock. One...two....three
"Are you freaking nuts! You could have warned me you were gonna do that!" She yelled! She was going to continue yelling until she saw the look on his face. Turning around, her own eyes widened when she saw the multiple screens up, depicting problems around the city.

"Should we go help?" She asked, and he nodded. Walking over to her and scooping her up. She nodded her allowance, and he took off again. This time stopping in front of a fire where two petti villains were now tied up and being taken by the cops. He looked around the scene, before spotting who he assumed was the new member of the team, Wondergirl. She saw him too, and flew over before landing.

"Kid Flash?" She asked, and he nodded.
"Whats going on?"
"A lot... I'm worried something big is about to happen... All these small-time crimes are taking place... seems almost like a diversion."
"Where are the others?" He asked, concerned now.
"Last I heard from them, they were splitting up to go taken down Chesh and Killer Frost."
"Right, do you have the coordinates."
"Yup."
"Lets go!"

Kaldur had his whips out, and was currently lashing at the girl in front of him as she practically danced out of his way. Artemis was shooting her arrows, but could not get a shot on target. Something was off. As he pulled back to recuperate, he pulled her aside for a moment.

"What's going on?" He asked, and she shook her head.
"Nothing, I've got this...just."
"Alright, lets finish this than."
"Awe, is poor Artemis having a bad day?" Kid interrupted - he couldn't miss a chance to poke fun at the girl.
"Kid!" The other two heroes exclaimed.
"We're here to help... lets take care of this."

As Kid, Wondergirl and another pink haired girl he did not recognize rushed back into the fight Kaldur looked at Artemis. Something wasn't right, about this...and the whole night. If things kept up at this pace they would run out of energy soon. They would need to take a step back and plan, or things could get bad very very fast.

"Oh, wait!" Katana called as she ran up to the couch, "Go back! I think the 'Real Housewives of Metropolis' are on!" Beast Boy gave the Asian a look. "Seriously? Reality shows are stupid." "Exactly the reason why I watch them." Before the two could go into a serious debate about reality television, Robin had suddenly appeared next to the trio.

"Cyborg, go back." He demanded.

"What? You wanna watch that crap Katana likes?!" Beast Boy shouted in surprise.

"Hey!"

"Not that, the news report." Cyborg did as his leader said and flipped back a couple channels. There, on a news channel was an anchorwoman talking about the rise of criminal activity, mostly on the east coast. As she was about to talk about the riveting bar graph that appeared next to her face, the anchorwoman cut herself off.

"Breaking news. We are about to cover live footage of a battle between notorious super villain Killer Frost and two members of the Young Justice, Miss Martian and Superboy." Her face was quickly replaced by a video of the said villain and teen heroes battling it out. It looked as though the two sides were evenly matched.

"Young Justice...?" Raven asked as she and Starfire also moved closer to the living room to watch the action unfold.

"Its a subordinate team of the Justice League." Robin replied in an even voice, though his thoughts were filled with worry for his former team. Where were the others...?

"Look!" Everyone turned back to the screen when Katana shouted to see a giant icicle almost hit Miss Martian from behind. Another came at her which she also dodged as a new figure came into view.

"Mr. Freeze." Robin muttered angrily under his breath.

"Oh man, that's two cold baddies." Beast Boy stated with a worried look on his face, "D'you think those guys could handle it?"

"No." The team quickly turned to their leader, "They're going to need some help. Cyborg, get the T-ship ready. We're heading to the east coast."

"M'gann!" Superboy cried out as Mr. Freeze kept attacking the alien girl relentlessly. He turned away from Killer Frost and readied himself to pounce on the villain. But at the last second something cold hit his back, making him cry out in pain as half his body became covered in ice.

"Sorry lover-boy, but your my dance partner tonight." Killer Frost announced as she strutted towards the trapped hero. Superboy struggled against his restraints while watching Miss Martian fight Mr. Freeze from the corner of his eye. Damn ice...

Suddenly, his attention torn away from both the fight and his prison when the blue-skinned girl grabbed his face to make him look at her.

"You know, up close you're quite cute." She said with a devilish smile, "This might be more enjoyable than I thought." Killer Frost leaned in close to Superboy's face while he tried to escape her grasp. He knew a kiss from her would mean instant death. Dammit, why couldn't he have laser vision?!
