Soo give your favorite/best singing tips.. :"D
And well, I'm looking for some personally. I'm having trouble getting enough breaths in in between lyrics for some songs, especially the higher songs. I can hit the notes and all it's just my voice warbles due to lack of oxygen in my diaphragm. So, what's some tips on finding spots to take breaths?? Or how to take a deep enough breath, fast enough without making that catching noise?
My personal tip is to... record yourself and play back! Which I'm sure a ton of people know but it took me a while to hear about it and try it. n.n

I record myself then wait a while and listen to it. I find that if I listen to it right away I don't notice flaws in my techniques as easily. I have a problem with not having enough power behind my voice. I've been trying to fix my breathing techniques to try to fix it but ti's not helping too much.

Ah, I don't have a problem with power. Are you sure you're pushing on your diaphragm enough? o:

I would love to get some tips. I enjoy singing, but I'm self taught and could use help.

Then totally post some covers or something in the karaoke thread. ;P I can try to help, but coming from a self-taught background myself and still needing to work on a lot of my techniques..

If your trouble is with oxygen flow, try to look up some tips/exercises for instrumentalists. Reed and brass instruments can take a lot of air! (Don't even get me started on flute.)
One way to develop your oxygen intake is to take a deep breath and blow all the air out at a steady pace. Try to keep it going for as long as possible. Once out of air, repeat. (This is an exercise I had learned in Concert Band.) Swimming also helps you learn to regulate your breathing.
If you can't get enough air out and you're still practicing to extend it. (Sorry for the awkward wording!) Try to think of where you could sneak a breath in.
tl;dr
To develop your air flow, you need to practice how to breath. That's about it. It's simply something that requires practice. (And a lot of it!)

Ah I remember playing recorder and flute back when it was forced upon me~. Those were easy for me, for some odd reason I didn't find too much trouble breathing. Thanks for the tip~.
I do that often, actually. And I especially hold this practice true when I sing. xD It's just the sneaking in breaths I still have a problem with, trying to remember what my choir teacher taught me about that... But thanks, maybe I just need to try that out more. :"D
