Just was wondering if anyone else here on Menewsha (and where in the name of all that is dark and unholy did the creators come up with that name) does NaNoWriMo and, maybe, wouldn't mind being Writing Buddies. I like having people on my various communities to kick me in the rear if I decide to get lazy and do random stuff online instead of noveling "3

Writing Buddies pretty much are there to poke you and make sure you're writing, as well as serving to distract you from writing "3
Pretty much, it's a way to just have someone to know what you're doing and whatnot, mkay~

And, yeah, NaNoWriMo == National Novel WRiting Month

I have always wanted to take part in NaNoWriMo but I'm already in the middle of noveling so I can't enter this year. Maybe next year! NaNoWriMo has a lot of functions right? Like a way to keep track of your progress and how much you type per day? Can I create an account and use the trackers even if I am not participating truly? I need the kick in the butt. ;_;

If I can't use NaNoWriMo, are there any other sites anyone knows about for writers?

@Ionait ::: Yeah, you can use the counters. They only work in the month of November though. Even if you started writing already, if you get 50k written SOLELY in the month, then you technically win "D

Hm. I'll look around the site and maybe see if I can find another site like it. I want the counter to work year round. ;_;

And I would volunteer to be a buddy but I have a 10 month old and Thanksgiving, Christmas, and her birthday are coming up! I'm kind of in between jobs so I don't know if I will be busy with work or not and my hubby keeps having to leave on trips. @_@

I hate saying I will dedicate myself to something and then never having the time. It's why I never joined clubs in school. :/

Hmmm this is interesting. I am currently writing another fantasy romance. And I'll admit, I do get a bit lazy. But I am also a full time college student too. But they say that any writer can try to write 1 hour a day and it does make a difference.

I just posted in the other NaNo thread and then I came across this one. xD

@Ionait: There's something like Nanowrimo except it takes place in the summer. I remember seeing a thread on the Nano forums with a list of other things that were like Nano. Let me see if I can find it for you.

Edit:I couldn't find the thread and the site's loading so slow, so I couldn't search as much I would like to. I did find JulNoWriMo though, if that interests you.

Thanks for digging around for me Aeronaut. I don't really want to compete because I'm already so in the middle of my novel. I just wanted the counters you use to track progress for yourself. Usually I work better when I can see stuff like that happening. Thank you though!

This will be my first year writing in NaNoWriMo.

I'm planning one writing a story for NaNiWriMo. I'd like it if I had someone to make sure I was on track with my story. 8D

I've sorta got an idea for a story in my head right now, but I need to develop it a bit more and actually create a plot for it. I'll probably be trying to come up with a plot over the next couple of weeks or so. ^^

I have never heard of that site but man do I ever NEED a writing buddy. Oh my gosh I have so many stories started and none that are finished. I just keep creating news one instead of finishing. I would love someone who was really interested in my work to be able to help me out and push me forward. Any takers? I write adult romance with more than half being vampire related but I do have some basic human ones. I also dabbled a little in angel demon and horror. I got a TON of samples if any one is interested.

@Marquisse: Lol. We're in the same boat, my friend. I'm always starting new stories because I get the inspirations (mostly dreams) but I haven't been able to finish one. And they're mostly paranormal romance, though one story is in the thriller/horror genre.

Ah NaNoWriMo..I was planning on participating again this year if college and job constraints don't prove too difficult for me to handle - last year I basically had all month to write so I did end up winning, but that story's a complete mess, needs rewritten terribly.

Anyhow, I might just end up doing the one in July which, thank you for saving me the trouble of finding it Aeronaut, but I'll probably be around come November as well if all things go well. You can find me under Marquis if you want to add me as a writing buddy :3

I've participated the past 3 years.
But I'm a horrible buddy xD;
I can barely keep myself motivated enough to write.
