What's Your Morning Routine?

So, what is it?

Do you have a specific way in which you start your mornings, or do you like to keep it spontaneous? Start your day off with a cup of coffee, bowl of cereal, jog around the block, or simply go through the horrible sleep withdrawal symptoms that every early morning has to offer?

I would have to say my mornings fluctuate from dreadfully bleak to happy-go-lucky sometimes. I'm just...not a morning person - I never really have been. On many occasion, I find my mom telling me about how when I was younger and when I slept in her bed, how I would kick her in my sleep and when she tried to wake me up I would get mad, start talking, and roll over; to none of my recollection, even to this day. Although I know I'm not a very still sleeper at times... included that if I had to share a bed with someone I'd probably send them flying ten feet - but I don't think that's why I hate mornings. I generally sleep til noon when I can, but as for week days... well, sadly that's different. My routine often centers itself around me trying to get out of bed and then failing, but being forced to get up the second time. (I set my alarm to three or four in the morning so I have time to actually wake up, or have the option of going back to sleep). I normally take about twenty to thirty minutes to get ready and an additional ten or twenty minutes to finish work from the day prior, because I went to bed without finishing; then I run out the house to the car with food in my mouth, because I have a poor sense of time and planning.

How do you view your morning?

What is your first outlook of your day when you wake up? Is it a positive one? You know, that first defining factor as to what you'll view your day as! Is it that pipping hot cup of coffee that lets you know your day can be bright, that report sitting on the kitchen table that reminds you of what an ass your boss is, or the plush fur of your cat lying on your face to greet you? Well, whatever it may be, I'm sure it's a story worth telling, yes?

My mornings, if you'd like to know, are pretty ordinary - I think. I get up begrudgingly, as I make a habit of procrastinating, and finish my work. Though there are times where I'll wake up to a nice morning, desirable weather, and a breakfast that consists of something other than shitty eggs on toast. On those particularly welcome days, I have a pretty good outlook on the day - I normally do, even if my morning is less than acceptable. I think - "Well, if it's going to be an ass-crap day at home, then I might as well make it a decent day at school...", and that's usually when the biologically scheduled class nap initiates

1. Wake up.
2. Go to the bathroom.
3. Go on the computer.
4. Get something to eat.
5. Repeat step 2-4 until I'm too sleepy.
6. Go to sleep.

Monday - Friday consist of getting up at 7 am and getting dressed, putting on make up, driving to work, going to work at 8 and then blahhhh work for like 7-8 hours, then come home, get on the internet, play games, get something to eat, play more games and browse the internet or watch tv then sleep.
Weekends: Sleep in, hang out with friends/family, play games, play on the internet, play games, etc. Then go to sleep really late.

6am - Wake up because of alarm, then hit snooze button
6:09 - Hit snooze button again
6:18 - Snooze
6:27 - Snooze
6:36 - Snooze
6:45 - Snooze
6:54 - Turn off alarm and walk zombie-like to the shower
7:04 - Get out of shower and brush teeth and floss
7:08 - Decide what to wear
7:15 - Get dressed
7:16 - Do hair
7:40 - Turn on weather channel, pack lunch, eat some yogurt or a granola bar
7:47 - Leave dorm

I used to get up earlier, but I've gotten so accustomed to my routine that I've figured out I can get out the door for work in less than 20 minutes if I'm really quick about it. But usually I'm a bit slow.

On work days I get up around 7:00am, check my phone for the weather so I know what kind of outfit to wear, roll out of bed, throw on some clothes yanked from my closet, go to the bathroom, brush my teeth, brush my hair, put on makeup, grab my bag and go out the door to catch my bus by 7:45.

I've never been a fan of breakfast, so I eat a little fruit/granola bar like snack at my desk once I get to work and drink a lot of tea. I think the lack of breakfast is why it takes me so little time. If it's on the weekend, I'll have some yogurt and fruit for breakfast/brunch and I usually sleep in to around 9:30am or so.

My alarm goes off at 5.30 am every morning then I hit snooze until 6.30. Finally, I roll out of bed and shower, brush my teeth then go to work. I normally eat at work but sometimes on my way to work I'll stop and get something.

On days I don't work, I still wake up at 6.30 or 7 then lay around until I can't stand being in bed any more then I normally end up either biking or walking around somewhere to do whatever.

Monday - Friday: (if I didn't take a day off)
7:00am Alarm goes off. Turn it off, set it to 7:20am, continue sleep.
7:20am Second time alarm goes off. Turn it off, get out of bed, stumble into bathroom.
7:25-7:30am Finish washing face and etc, head out to dining room to feed/clean up guinea pig.
7:30-7:35am Out the door and off to work.

Weekends and day offs:
10:00am-2:00pm: Wake up. Roll around and decide whether or not to get up or go back to sleep.
10:30am-2:30pm: Get out of bed, head into bathroom.
10:35am-2:35pm: Finish washing face and etc, head back into room after getting something to drink/eat and turn on computer. Usually I skip the getting something to drink/eat part.
??-?? Not leave room again until it's time for dinner. Though depending, sometimes I go out with friends or get dragged outside by parents who don't want to see me bum away my life inside my room. xD

On weekdays I'll usually get up around 8:45 a.m. to get ready for class. I usually do my hair really fast, brush my teeth, put in contacts, and go to class. If I have time, I'll put on a bit of makeup, but that doesn't usually happen. I usually grab a bottle of water and a fiber bar on my way out the door and eat it on my 40 minute drive to my school. I usually don't have an appetite until around noon so that's why I don't eat breakfast.

Weekends I'll sleep in to anywhere from 10 a.m. to noon. I'm a nighthawk, so I don't get as much sleep as you'd think, so on weekends I make up for it.

My routine generally consists of waking up way too early, snoozing my alarm several times until I only have twenty minutes until I need to leave the house, rolling out of bed, brewing coffee, eating cereal, pouring coffee into my thermos, grabbing my stuff and heading for the door, remembering that I'm still wearing the same clothes from yesterday, going back to change them, then actually leaving. If I'm running especially late, I'm more likely to skip that last bit than to skip breakfast. xD If I really need to, I might take an extra granola bar for lunch instead of having breakfast. I just really hate getting hungry in the middle of class, and it pretty much always happens if I miss breakfast. ><

My alarm wakes me up at 7am, then my next alarm goes off at 7:15, in case I fell back asleep. At which point, I get up, go shower, dress, do my hair, brush my teeth, then leave for work at 7:45. Work for 3 hours, then go to school. Somewhere in between work and school I find time to grab something to eat...sometimes.

3. Wake up.
4. Get on the computer.
5. Promise myself I'll make a decent routine "tomorrow".
