I think in this whole world there are only a rare few who don't love music in one form or the other. These are sad and scary people. If you are one of these people, I am sad for you and scared of you. For music is a powerful force, capable of stirring the soul, rallying the spirit, lifting the heart and all that other kinda stuff.
I love music and I love discovering new music. So I wanted to create a place where myself and some of my acquaintances can share our music. This thread will also be a place to hang out, converse and laugh. Y’know, whatever.
Rules
Be good. Don't make me add any.
How It Works
If you know me you know that I like my threads to be as stress-free as possible. So here's the lowdown. If i've invited you to participate, reserve a post and decorate it as you would. Minimalist or over the top, it's your call.
Your post will be used to share your music. I recommend using Youtube. It's safe and easy. The music you share can be what you’re currently listening to. What your current favorite is. Your song of the day. The setup and how often you update your post are completely up to you.
For me, with each new song I add, i'll be creating a list of my previous songs in my post. You may want to do the same. Like said, free and easy. No pressure. ;D
...
To my friends i've forgotten, please forgive me. I've got all the memory of a dead woodchuck. Just drop me a PM. ;)
The thread is now open. If you haven't reserved your post but still like to, feel free. I'll add you to the directory.

Demoscout's Music Corner!
(banner to come eventually...)
I think a brief intro is at hand. I feel that, as humans, music is vital to us in every way. Music is not only an art, but it has strong hold over us all whether we believe it or not. Sometimes all it takes is some music to warm the soul, and any kind of music is capable of that, so don't be surprised to see plenty of variety in my music list as it progresses. Now that that's said and done, I will share with you my choices in music one step at a time.
Chosen Song:
Seito is an avid anime watcher and video game player. <3 So lots of my music tends to come from there. There's a few occasional ones that venture out of that usual nitch due to brother and friends playing other songs around me. Also, I'm a sucker for music videos that tell stories.
My Playlist can be divided this in four parts: "Song of the Moment", "Bookends", "Story Corner", and "Instrumental".
Song of the Moment - What I'm listening to. Bookends - Usually, the anime opener/closing that inspires me. Story Corner - This video tells a beautiful story. Instrumental - Usually, from a video game, this song is powerful without the need of words.
Here is my little spot on the Magical Playlist!
My music tastes vary. I like most types, though country and rap aren't at the top of my favorites list. I'm usually the person everyone pokes fun at in terms of what they listen to, and that's fine by me!
Maaya Sakamoto - Hemisphere
I listen to a bit of J-POP here and there. This song somehow brightens my day whenever I hear it. If you're interested in looking at the translation, click here.
I'm not sure how often I'll update, but I think I'd like to share a little more than just one song in the likely event that I don't update for awhile. So here's my recommendations split up into categories. Hopefully it's not too much awesome for your brains to handle. ;)
Ferra's Choice
One of my favorite songs from any particular genre.
The song is called "Me + Yr Daughter". I'm a big fan of Natalie Portman's Shaved Head (NPSH) so I'm doing a triple-feature this time since I couldn't pick just one song. I love the video that goes along with this one too.

Date Featured: 2/5/11 Artist: Calvin Harris Song: Merrymaking at my Place Video:YouTube - Calvin Harris - Merrymaking at my Place Comments: Calvin Harris is a lot of fun to listen to and this is one of my favorites. There's a video that goes along with it here, but the one I've featured has better audio quality.
Who are these guys?
A place to showcase underrated artists that not only have you probably not heard of, no one else has either. Finding Youtube videos might be a challenge, though.
Another song by NPSH since I'd place them firmly in the "unknown" category. I had a hard time choosing between my other favorites, but Iceage Babeland won for the line "Keep it strictly on the dancefloor
Otherwise what’s your booty for?" This is one of the few bands I actually pay attention to the lyrics.

Date Featured: 2/5/11 Artist: Brad Sucks Song: Making Me Nervous Video:YouTube - Brad sucks - Making me nervous Comments: Although this particular video has more than 400k hits, I'm still going to call him "unknown". Especially since his website's tag-line is "a one man band with no fans".
Date Featured: 1/30/11 Artist: Very International Love (VIL) Song: Fire Video:YouTube - Fire Comments: The video was uploaded by their official company. It has only 29 views. :(
Video Game Tunes
I like my vidya gaems.
Once again in a completely different direction, here's a song from Jet Set Radio Future. Regretfully I never played the game, but this song has been on my iPod for ages.

Date Featured: 2/5/11 Artist: Akira Yamaoka Song: Room of Angel Video:YouTube - Silent Hill - Room of Angel Comments: This is from Silent Hill 4. It's a beautiful song, if not a bit chilling.
Date Featured: 2/5/11 Artist: Slackcircus Song: Fabulous Secret Powers Video:YouTube - Fabulous Secret Powers Comments: He-man dance song? YES. (Skip to 1:24 where the magic really begins.)
Date Featured: 1/30/11 Artist: Rubberbandits Song: Horse Outside Video:YouTube - Rubberbandits - Horse Outside Comments: Drive a Honda? F*ck you. I've got a horse.
Non-English
I listen to a lot of songs in languages I don't understand. Language barriers shouldn't deprive you of good music.
To be honest, have no idea what this song is about, but damn that lady can sing! (Language: Swedish)

Date Featured: 2/5/11 Artist: Los Mono Song: Promesas Video:YouTube - SONIC 360 - Los Mono - Promesas Comments: Great dance song and a very clever video! (Language: Spanish)
Date Featured: 1/30/11 Artist: GAKU-MC Song: Hatarakou (ハタラコウ) Video:YouTube - GAKU-MC- Comments: Although it lacks subtitles, the video on this one is very entertaining. (Language: Japanese)
Lyrics Free
Not every song needs a singer.
One of my favorite songs by Justice.

Date Featured: 2/5/11 Artist: Ryoksopp Song: So Easy Video:YouTube - Röyksopp - So Easy (Mononoke) Comments: There technically are some words at the end of the regular song which leads into the next one ("Eple"). I highly recommend listening to both.
Date Featured: 1/30/11 Artist: Forty Thieves Orkestar Song: Balkan Babylon Video:YouTube - Forty Thieves Orkestar - Balkan Babylon! Comments: Although there aren't many of their songs on Youtube, I'd highly recommend all of them. They're simply beautiful.
This is a very well put together FAN MADE video of Grizzly Bear's song entitled "Two Weeks". It's perhaps much more awesome than the original video. And one of the many reasons why I enjoy the song so darn much.

The Whole World & You - Tally Hall
Tally Hall, the coolest band ever. Each member is distinctively identified best by the color of their tie.
Joe Hawley (Red Tie)
Zubin Sedghi (Blue Tie)
Rob Cantor (Yellow Tie)
Ross Federman (Gray Tie)
Andrew Horowitz (Green Tie)
Their music is funky and just totally awesome. The genre is listed as Indie Rock, but they (as do their many fans) describe their music style as "wonky rock" (although they now refer to themselves as a "fabloo rock").
They're so awesome, no other band can replace them in my eyes.
Songs I hate!
:-x
Friday- Rebecca Black -kills ears-
Whip My Hair- Willow Smith -kills ears again- Pretty Girl Rock -Keri Hilson -slices ears off, shoves them in a BLENDER, then makes Keri Hilson DRINK them!-
Izumi's current MP3 picks
I have some musical abilities. I can badly play on a few instruments and I can carry a tune singing fairly well, although no one would ever pay me for my ability I do know first hand the benefits of music.
I also consider my music tastes to be fairly different, and as my husband says very much against the grain. If you ever pick up my mp3 player you'll probably find you only have heard about a quarter of it on the radio. I rarely ever listen to the radio these days, and usually find my music from soundtracks, or from listening to full albums.
Blah. Blah. Blah. Is anyone even reading this?
DISCLOSURE: I  Muse before it was cool to do so! Well before they made Rockband, and before they got on *coughhackpuke* the Twilight soundtrack.
Good...Now that that is cleared up...
Dedication A dedication to my brother:
