I had a hard time figuring out an interesting name for this thread, but I think it's an interesting topic.

What are weird little life experiences or occurrences that seem to constantly repeat themselves in your life?

This is kind of a crud example, so I apologize, but this gave me the idea for the thread.

So today I was out buying a few new shirts to last me the school year, and bought a dress as well. The dress, being slightly expensive, had one of those exploding anti theft ink tags hidden in it. WELL, I got all the way home (twenty miles from the store) and noticed...the exploding tag is still on there. Great. Again. Deja freaking vu.

Thing is this happens to me at least two or three times a year. Maybe it's not just me, but to me it's a recurring idiotic life experience.

Anyway, Mene, do you have any recurring things in your life that you can't seem to get away from?

I've had that happen. Its a hassle but stores do remove them as long as you bring it in with the receipt. Still a hassle though, but it has gotten me some gift cards or discounts for the trouble too.

I can't think of any recurring events really. I put things in safe places and then forget about where that safe place is. I keep meaning to find just ONE safe place ad put everything in that one place but I never seem to get around to it.

Yeah, it's just a pain for me because I live out in the country so am always 10-20 miles away from the store I bought it from. And since this one's an exploding tag I have no choice but to haul it back to get it removed (I have just pried them off in the past if they're not exploders). For some reason I didn't start experiencing this until about two years ago. Now this happens to me about three times a year.

I'm jealous they've given you compensation for bringing something back to get the tag off. I've never had any such luck. Perhaps I should make some sort of scene tomorrow when I take it in. >.>

Ach, I do that constantly. I constantly misplace my favorite necklace because I think I've put it in a safe place and actually what I've done is set up a future game of hide and seek.

What's weird is I never make a scene. I'm overly nice about it. I think it might just be the stores. I have few shops I go to for clothes and typically they all know me fairly well. I'm always nice to them. They're always helpful and nice to me. It works. Once a new employee at a store I liked was just plain rude to me and I didn't go back there for a long time. I wonder whatever happened to her.. anyway, the people that knew me all mentioned that they hadn't seen me in a while. That's probably what helps most as far as discounts and gift cards.

Jewelry tends to suffer most for me too! Its sad. I have jewelry boxes but the area I'm around.. its not wise to leave your real/really sentimental jewelry in obvious places like that. So I'm forever trying to both hide the pieces I wear regularly.

For me when I try to be super quiet something always messes up and some loud noise is made.... Last night around 4 am my tummy was soooo hungry so I went to the fridge to pull out a yogurt. Oh that doesn't make much noise right? Well it does when the cat jumps into the fridge!!! >.> I just wanted something to stop the hunger pain! It never fails that something will make noise when I try to be quiet.

@Empress: Ahh, yeah, I just go to the big chain stores most of the time so I bet that's my problem. I'd love a nice coupon or something, though. XP

And yeah, jewelry is just so small that it disappears no matter what I do. That and I have a big collection of costume jewelry so sometimes it's like a "where's Waldo" kinda thing. XD

I have a tendency to lose one of a pair of hoop earrings. The only pair I've managed to keep both so far is a pair I've worn for over 10 years on and off, they're hoops which have dolphins on them, and while they look nice they can sometimes prick me, because of the shape of the dolphins tail on each earring...

I have a pair I wear instead of those dolphin ones at times but I've nearly lost one a few times already, there have already been times when it comes off and I don't realise until I see it on the ground...
