Oh man, me and ugly sweaters. I have tons. They're not even ugly to me, they're gorgeous. There are ones I think are outright ugly and I won't buy those, but... I have to admit I lust after some of Bill Cosby's sweaters, so my taste is questionable at best.

There's something of an art to those things, isn't there? Loud perplexing designs, etc.

To make a better example, I hate these, but love these. I'd take some pictures of my sweaters if my camera was anything less than poop.

I love it when they're really huge. Then I wear them with jeggings and just feel comfy cozy all day. I love being able to bring the sleeves over my hands. Sweater paws! A couple of mine are even men's sweaters... My boyfriend and I went to goodwill one time to find clothes for his 11th Doctor cosplay, and instead I came out with two sweaters.

URGH!! CHRISTMAS. SWEATERS. Those are truly hideous, but there's no denying that a patterned cardigan can appeal to me if the colour/pattern combo is just right. I'd quite like some patterned sweaters of they were long and oversized.

My favourite "ugly sweater" is one my dad left me, which is a nautical theme - A lot like this, but only one rope of the flags, and it's got a blue and white horizontal striped background.

That's quite amazing.

This is the ugly sweater I'm wearing today. One of those men's ones I mentioned before.

I usually wear a light gray circle scarf with it if I'm going out. I just didn't go out today.

I just like really baggy sweaters that most of my friends find ugly. Actually, I made an ugly Christmas sweater for last Christmas though I think it turned out pretty cute. It had awful shoulder pads and everything.

I am currently wearing my "ugly" sweater. It's a baggy, hot pink and black number, with a dense pattern, and I LOVE it. I got it at a thrift store, and I think it might be a legit 80's sweater.

Here's a picture of the same sweater, but in white instead hot pink:

Isn't it gorgeous? I'm partial to my pink one, but the white one looks great also.

That's so cute! Unfortunately, we're getting out of sweater weather here. More shorts and tank tops now.

Yeah. I'll miss my ugly sweaters! But winter was dragging on too long. We need some time apart to miss each other.

I missed summer but now that the bugs are out, I miss winter. I love going hiking though so that's a plus.

We didn't get enough rain out here in California, so I'm still clinging to winter, but it's planting time now. Maybe we'll get lots of fog to make up for the lack of rain. >_<

I live on the coast and it's almost always windy in town, even when it's sunny, so I'll probably get to keep wearing my sweaters.

Do you have trouble later in the year with fires, if the winter rains have been sparse?

Oh yes, fires are a big problem. I think we get fires every year during the summer, but it's been dry enough that there was a huge fire in the Big Sur area a few months ago, when normally it would be too wet for anything to burn.

Oh dear :(

I only knew about the fire potential from the Sue Grafton books I've read as those are set in California, and she drops little educational snippets like that into them. Because England is so...moist, fires are a rarity. There were some in London last summer, but they're really something that hardly ever happens here.

Yeah, I always hear about tons of huge fires on the lower west coast every summer. Very scary!

It can be really scary. I remember one big fire when I was a kid down in San Diego, the sky got grey with smoke and there was a bit of ash in the air, even though we were miles away from the danger zone.

Mm, those ones are lovely too, but I don't have the confidence for ones that loud. Those are the ones I ogle for a bit in the thrift store, hope someone cool buys, and then move on.

Oh, that's a beauty, that is. I don't think I could pull it off, but I'm glad it's out there and being worn by someone.
