I sure as hell don't.

Right now I have various Mene tabs open, all with something I need or want to do. Will any of them reach completion? Not very likely. I'm likely to shut some down just to get them to go away, because I feel like they're taunting me at the moment.

Any multi-tasking experts out there? Care to share your secrets?

Actually, I know of one super expert! Maria-Minamino:

To be honest - I'm not sure how I do it. I must have learned the art of multi-tasking when I was a kid and it's just a habit now. I don't even notice I do.

Why just today my mom was warning me about pushing myself XD I have some major projects due tomorrow because my grad school class ends tomorrow...but obviously I have work...so my mom was all, "if you need to, take tomorrow off! Don't push yourself like you always do!" XD

So, you gonna take tomorrow off?

I think I know the answer to this.

Ha. Me? Muilt-task?

My attention is to one tab at a time and sometimes I have like seven to eight tabs open. It's a pain!

I have multiple tabs open all the time, and my books open on the other side. I just switch chairs and try to manage everything
I used to keep talking when our teacher gave us notes and things, but while I wrote my notes as well as talked, all my other friends used to miss notes because they were listening to me speaking

I can't take notes . _. Well, I can, but while I'm writing I miss what is currently being said. I've never been able to write quickly either. Not if I want to be able to read it, anyway.

I can walk and chew gum, but that's about the extent of it. I can flip back and forth between things alright (though the more I do that, the more spazzy my brain gets and I have a harder time focusing on anything), but I can't really do multiple things at once. It's very pointed switching between things. And for things that require a lot of focus, like writing, reading, or math homework, I can't switch at all; I'll lose my train of thought and have to struggle to get it back. I can only switch away when I've finished my thought (the paragraph, chapter, problem, etc.)

My mom is even worse at this than I am, though. She and I are both pretty busy with conflicting schedules, so even though we live together, we don't talk much anymore. So I'll try to talk to her while she's making dinner, since that has her in one room for a long period of time. My line of reasoning is that if she's making something she's made 100 times before and is doing something simple, like chopping vegetables, she can pay attention to a conversation just fine and break for a moment here and there to think of what she needs to do next. So she'll be chopping vegetables and I'll start talking to her, and she won't even realize it but she'll completely stop what she's doing. I'll be like "it's alright if you work while talking to me," and she'll seem genuinely surprised by the fact that she had stopped doing whatever she was doing. So she'll start again, but then 30 seconds later she's stopped. Then she gets mad because dinner is taking too long. @_@

But I guess multi-tasking is less efficient, because you can't really give your maximum to what you do. While I can multi-task upto some extent, I can't listen to music while I'm studying, because I try to give all my attention to getting something into my head. It all depends on what you use it for. I usually have multiple tests going on on different tabs, because then I can mix them all up, and it makes me actually think.

I can't listen to music while studying either! I actually can't listen to music with words at all when I'm trying to read or write. The only time I can listen to music with words is when I'm doing something that doesn't otherwise involve words - driving, cleaning, cooking, etc.

I also can't write and listen at the same time. If I'm trying to write down one thing my professor said while they're saying something else, I won't even hear what they're currently saying. I take notes anyway, since it helps me better remember the things I do write down. But... yeah, I like professors who let me use my laptop for notes - I can write much quicker, so I hear a lot more of what they're saying. Likewise, I can't read and listen at the same time - if their powerpoint slide says something other than exactly what they're saying, I'm either missing what they're saying to read it, or I'm missing what it says to listen to them. So I really hate those professors who use slides as, like, a second stream of lecture and never say anything at all that is in the slides but don't stop talking. I can't do both!

Music distracts me too >.<
I'm good at doing either of reading, writing and listening But I can't write something while I'm thinking a deep thought, because then I start writing what I'm thinking

That happens sometimes if I'm trying to talk while writing. I'll either accidentally say what I'm writing or write what I'm saying.

It happens to me too, and English is the only language I speak. ._. Sometimes I just can't be bothered to arrange words in the correct order, they just sort of tumble out into a loose approximation of a sentence. It tends to happen a lot on Mene, actually. Never use my posts as a marker for proper English!

I can't speak well but I can type quite fairly well (there I think messed up the order of words >.<)
I have the same problem! And then I have confusions regarding tenses

I am a terrible multi-tasker. I have great difficulty paying attention to more than one thing at a time, and I absolutely hate taking notes. I am easily distracted, too, unless it is something I am very interested in.

I love multi-tasking, but I may not do it very well.
xDD

I have ADHD, so I bounce from thing to thing to thing.
