As with every first Saturday in May, today is Free Comic Book Day. The day when you can head down to your local participating comic shop and pick yourself up a goodie, totally gratis.

Oh man, Tam Lin: and I hit a few of the local comic book shops and came back with quite the haul. of course, we also bought a few things at each of the shops we visited to support them (so it's not like we were being suuuuper stingy and only going for the freebies).

Sadly, Seri is too lazy to list the haul, but it was a haul, let me tell you.

AHH I MISSED IT!

I wouldn't have had the time to make the hour-long drive to the nearest participating comic book store, but it's still sad to know that I completely forgot about this joyous occasion.

Damn it, I should've known this was going to happen earlier! I would've tried to find a few places before I went into work.

NUUU...I missed out, again! Totally had no idea and I so could've gone to the comic book shop because I was out near that way that day too...

I was too busy working to take advantage of it.

The comic books "sell" out here so quickly that I never bother. Otherwise it'd be really fun to participate!

I had to work. I was hoping I'd be able to get up and out the door early enough to stop in at a place on the way before I had to clock in, but no such luck. So I asked my boyfriend to pick some up for me once he got up, but they were almost all gone by the time he got there. So I ended up with the Kaboom Summer thing, and one store that was giving out the first issue of Y: The Last Man as a sort of consolation prize for latecomers. Same thing happened to me last year, got there too late and got a consolation prize. Next year, swear to god, I'm asking off work and setting an alarm for 8 am.

I went and got some Magic cards to alter. XD Most of the comics were already gone but my brother (who we were visiting) got a Batman Beyond comic and a Hello Kitty comic.
