Xiero sat in the temple, it was quiet and he was alone. The stone statue of the great dragon Kivera, the one who created the land stared back at him. Insence burned, filling the room with a light scent of lavander. He was alone in the room at the moment, and it was peaceful. He often came in here to meditate and clear his head. He needed guidance right now, but he couldn't ask the monks about it, they would never allow it. Xiero was thinking about leaving the temple. He knew that rumors of his abilities were spreading, and that was sure to soon bring people interested to see if it was true, and that could bring danger to his home.
This place was sacred, it was a hidden place within the ruins of his home area. Many did not know about it, but if they found out...He sighed, closing his eyes. He shook his head, what was he going to do? He knew the monks thought they were protecting him by keeping him here and hidden, but it was only a matter of time. He could not hide forever. He was very inexperienced, and that made it worse. If he did leave, would he be able to protect himself? He was a being of peace. Fighting was against his people's way.Standing, he slowly made his way to the door, opening it. He wanted to clear his head, he needed to. Heading to the stables, he aquired a horse. Gently petting its side, he spoke to it asking if it would allow his passage.
As if understanding, the horse nodded its head. Normally, he would have been forbidden to go out without an esscort. Even if they were on an island where few could get to them. Today however, his people were busy getting ready for the solstice, where Xiero would be the main venu. He was supposed to be using his abilities to commune with the spirits, to ask for peace and prosperity for the island. It was a tradition. He directed the horse away from the life of the monks for now, the open area ahead of him did make him feel a bit better, he would head to the shore, to enjoy the waves of the ocean. That always helped to clear his mind.
