I :heart: Avatar, I have to say it is my new favorite movie. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD. Very good movie, love the technology they use in it. Unreal that EVERYTHING was computer generated. If you haven't seen it yet, I suggest you go see it before it is out of theatres! =D

I didn't even have any interest in seeing it until my friends mom offered to pay for us to go, but I'm really glad I did
I don't see why a lot of people say the plot is messed up
I didn't see anything wrong with it
The only thing I didn't like was how sometimes the 3D effects were really good, and other times it hardly even seemed like the movie was in 3D ><

I thought the movie was absolutely beautiful. Everything about it was beautiful and seamless. People frown upon it because the story is not very original, it's pretty much like a sci-fi re-make of Pocahantas and the Fern Gully. I personally like it because I love nature and I'm an activist towards the protection of this wonderful planet. I adored the Omaticaya, they were sooooo gorgeous and so feline-like, it was so wonderful to look at. I love cats and so seeing these large blue aliens with cat-like features and behaviors really appealed to me. Overall, I do believe it was a very well-made movie.

Plot messed up? How was it possibly messed up? I think the plot was really well thought up. I love the completely new world they made up. I also enjoyed the humorous lines.

I totally agree with this. I wish Pandora was real and that I lived there :)

@ aleksandra & seer of the past.

Even if it was real, it would help I think to be a Na'Vi or you'd have trouble living there.

As for liking the movie? I loved it!

I kind of want my own personal avatar like they had. Only problem though, I could see me freaking out lying there in the body chamber thing. I know they could be compared to tanning beds, but I couldn't even get into one of those without feeling claustrophobic. x.x;;;

I really liked it, however I honestly can NOT sit still that long. Ever. After an hour my friends and I were playing musical chairs because we couldn't stay still.

I loved it! I saw it twice, haha.
I can't wait for the next one; Cameron has already stated that he was going to make not one, but two more. I've also read that since the technology has been perfected (as well as all the extra details like creating Pandora and the Na'vi language completed) in the making of the first, the second and third will not take as long to make, and Cameron will be able to focus on the stories this time.

So exciting!

Me too! There is a small Navi-English dictionary in the Survival Guide, and learnnavi.org, but I haven't stuck to learning it because I'm the only one I know who likes it enough to learn it. ^^;;

Lol. I went nuts trying to look up the language after I saw the movie for the second time. XD There isn't a full language at this time, just bits and pieces needed for the movie. I remember reading that the language's creator was considering making it into a full language though, given that so many fans were wanting to learn it. So I'm waiting for that.

That's my problem, not to mention I will be going to school in the fall to learn Japanese and Chinese, as if I need another language to learn. XD

Ooh. Good luck with that. A guy in my Japanese class was learning both Chinese and Japanese at the same time. He kept getting the kanji mixed up. Be careful of that.

Ya, I will be sure to keep things straight in my head. I usually am able to do that very well and to differentiate things like that very well.

I thought the movie was outstanding... the storyline was cliche, the 3D I didn't really understand cause like someone said before some scenes you could see it, most of the others you couldn't. My mom said she loved the colors more without the 3D glasses so heh, but I just love movies with that atmosphere, and just the thought on how long it took to create such a movie. It is definatly a favorite.

While I agree that the movie was visually nothing short of wonderful, I did not like the Na´vi all that much. I don´t know, but they had this arrogant air that kept grating on my nerves until Colonel Quaritch blew up the Hometree. It´s as if Cameron wanted to portray Quaritch as a complete, irredeemable monster, the most digusting kind of person imaginable, but because of the Na´vi´s haughtiness and the idiotic behaviour of Jake Sully,this backfired many people ended up liking him. Now Quaritch is a Memetic Badass, right up there with the likes of Snake Eyes and Rohrschach. Come on... He may be an arsehole, but tell me he is not an awesome soldier, I dare you!

EDIT: Oh, and I watched the movie in 3D, and felt woozy for a while after it was over.

well i must say yes the movie was wonderfully done, but it didnt have me talking about it after it was done.
thats how i can usually tell if really truely enjoyed it.
i was annoyed with many things in it. but the main thing that annoyed me was jake sully and the fact that it got incredibly predicable, which ruined the fun of the movie.

i loved the colors though that was just breath taking and the graphics were definatyl amazing, the story though just got to cliche and predicable for me.

Avatar is without a doubt the most visually impressive movie I have ever seen! It's plot is pretty good, but my favorite characters die, which is my only complain XP

Even though this is more suited to the Media forum, I did enjoy the movie. The storyline was pretty predictable, but the graphics were amazing, and I loved the bioluminescence going on in the jungle areas.
