For the LONGEST time, I've thought about making a band.

So many people want me too...

I've been told I have a decent voice, and I can play guitar.

Well so can anybody else xD

But... I do have good lyrics, and a unique look on things.

Problem is, It's a real bitch to find bandmates. xD

So Menewsha... Do you have band?

I am in a band!!

But not really the kind of band that you're talking about. When I was in high school I was in marching band, wind ensemble, pit band, and jazz band...yes I was a band nerd and I loved it!! ^^

Now that I'm in college I'm in symphonic band and I'm also in pep band. I play the trumpet so it's a lot of fun. And on top of that, I get paid $30.00 a game to play at. At my university basketball is their big thing, not football...and whenever the pep band plays...we get monies! >.<

My boyfriend however, also plays the trumpet and he is in....gosh I don't even know how many things....wind symphony, brass ensemble, symphonic band, jazz band, pit band, brass quintet.

And he also does have his own band...it's him where he plays the trumpet/flugelhorn, and his friends play bass, keyboard and drums.

It's actually really awesome.

Then my sister is in her own rock band...they've played at many gigs...and they get paid. She is the drumer so that ROCKS! >.<

I wish I could. XD I can sing, but only if there's two or more people singing with me. XD As for instruments, I can barley play the guitar and piano... That's about it. =3 But, I want to learn how to play the Ocarina. That is such a cool instrument. >w<

I'd totally be in your band if I could Gush! :3 I'd be the manager though >.> I don't have singing skills and the last instrument I played was violin in 5th grade XD

I used to be in a band? Kinda. I drew art for them.

Haha, I did art for their EP, it was pretty dope.
I was guest-listed for shows, and I got free rides.

But then they broke up, their bassist left and now goes to school in Chicago, I think.
And others had different visions for the band.
So yup. (:

I'm going to be in a band soon. Lolz. At home, yay4rockband. I can't open it til' Christmas though. D;

My band is called "Brave Little Toasters."

I'm starting it myself, and I will write some basic songs, and hope to grab some attention.

I'd like to add more members to it of course.

I used to play the guitar, but only because my dad insisted upon it. I haven't played my guitar in almost two years, so yah.

There's too many complicated things about music these days.

A lot of people use computer effects on their voice, in addition, what chords does one need to learn? I know all the basic chords, but often bands seem not to use chords.

Do they just sit around and play around until something sounds good?

Do you ever make a thread where you're not indiscreetly trying to brag about yourself? Don't bother answering or getting mad, it's just pretty annoying.

Anyway, to answer the actual quesion...
A few of my friends wanted to start a band awhile ago, but one dropped out, because apparently he only likes "classical" music, and my other friends who play the drums and guitar need to move closer before we can start anything. That, and my best friend likes a lot of rock, while I like other kinds of music too. So I'm not really sure if that's ever gonna happen.

Judging by the fact that there are plenty more talented people out there, and that I don't plan on pursuing a career in music, I don't understand where your coming from V!rtual Insanity.

Therefore, I will say to you;

Keep bitching, it only makes you look whiny.

Well, this one annoying kid used to keep inviting me to be in a band with him and this other dude I'm friends with. Though they weren't even IN a band. XD But I stink at guitar, since I have like, NO rhythm.
I've considered singing, but I have a small range, and my voice is only mediocre at best.
But man, I'd love to be up on stage in some crazy outfit, singing some really deep lyrics and inspiring people with a band that I loved. It all looks amazing.
But if you don't eat, sleep, breathe and shit music, you won't be anything other than mediocre at it, so I gave up. So I'm just confined to dancing and lip syncing to CDs while I shower. Though it's a little difficult to pretend that you're David Bowie when you're also trying to wash your hair.

I could never really see myself in a band... Mostly because I'm not that serious about performing... And I don't know many bands that would need a flute player xD Maybe if I could do it on the side for fun, but not as a job or anything.

I was in a band that was actually a rock band with post punk influence. We were good but the arguments destoried us. I don't associate with them any more do to a lot of things that are truly personal and hard for me to chat about. It really had a lot to do with the fact that all the men in the band (I was the only female) would argue over me or over he way the band headed. It just was a nightmare but still we managed to produce some great songs. We never posted them on the internet (at the time I doubt we would have anyway) but we have tapes of the recordings and stuff. Doubtful that it will ever be on the internet or being heard by anyway. Brings out to many raw emotions to everyone.

But we did have heavy influence in bands like The Cult, Bauhaus, The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Red Lorry, Yellow Lorry and so on.

I was the one who arranged the songs and played the piano/ synth (we did both). I also wrote much of the songs and they were edited by my X boyfriend.

I've never really wanted to be in a band because I can't
play anything. xD I tried guitar but I'm not very coordinated
and my hands are really small, which probably doesn't help.
