Not just any thread, but a thread based souly on Manga Artists, not the big name Manga Artists but the Manga Artists who recided here on Menewsha!!!

So I will start.
My Name is Monsun, I have a Pen name called Wiliam Killen Slaughter (Wil Killen Slaughter). I write my own Manga, My previous works are...

I believe this thread would be a better fit for the Manga/Anime forum, so i'll just move it along. :)

My pen name is Ace and I've worked on a total of three web comics. (Mind you, though, I have dozens upon dozens of scripts.)

My first web comic I did in sixth grade - honestly, I didn't even realize it was a web comic xD
Anyway, it was a parody of Pokemon and H.R. Puffinstuff with lots of dirty humor and sexual situations. It was called Adventures in Humpapimpilis Land. (Yes - that's "hump-a-pimp-i-lis." I was a naughty six grader, hahaha.) It didn't get very far but I'm still surprised with what I was able to pull off - full colored comic pages in MS Paint using nothing but a mouse.

My smackjeeves web comic, Tissues for Issues, is on hiatus because I want to re-do the pages. Anyway, that comic takes place at a youth mental institution and all the character have their various disorders. It's comedy and drama.

Finally, there's my major web comic Immortal Ghost. I had made over forty pages before I decided to start over since I got a better understanding of photoshop. That's in full color but I haven't been able to work on it much because of college. And now I don't have a scanner. Greetings, my name is Cyraus Foldger and I am 15 years old. Ever since I was little, I've loved anime. My first animes were Dragonball Z, Sailor Moon, and Pokemon. I've been an artist all my life, and have moved my work onto anime. I've studied the art of anime and manga, and I've gotten a pretty good hand on it.
When I thought about my future career, my main dreams were an artist or an author. I excel in both and enjoy them both. I wanted to choose an occupation that would merge my two talents into one. And then the art of manga caught my eye. I decided that I am going to go to Japan and create my own manga. I do have several ideas for plots and hope to use each one someday. Not to mention that I adore Japan and its customs. They're very interesting and I wish to join in with it.
I draw my work by pencil, but I hope to one day move onto computer. I've just recently been working on my own manga for a scene in a roleplay. I know I still have a long way to go to becoming a real manga artist, but I believe that I have great potential.
I haven't created any mangas yet. I usually just draw characters from animes or mangas that I like, or from books and roleplays. I consider myself new to this whole thing, and I see that you both are quite experienced with this. Do you have any tips for beginners like me? I am good at drawing human bodies and figures, but I do have trouble with different poses, like attack stances or angular positions.

These are all characters for the same roleplay. What do you think?

i've been trying to work on manga, but i haven't gotten too much done. i've got like over 40 stories thought up, but i've only really worked on one. it's pretty much a long one-shot story, and i had been working on it for a few months, but i had to stop on it because of my pregnancy. now, i'm trying to continue working on it so i can someday get it published. i really want to be a good manga-ka, but at the rate i'm going, it's gonna take me forever! >_<

As for me I have a hard time with consistancey in my characters. I find that as i draw my artistic level drops. I do all of my things in lead and i very rarely put it on the internet. I do have on my Facebook, a few pics i have Inked over and scanned on the computer. None of the Mangas i have drawn are completely original just a different variation of the hit Manga/Anime Evangelion. But the Characters i have drawn are all original.

IT takes a loooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnggggggggg time to complete a single Manga, and as I created different mangas my style developed into a stronger style. It took me over 7 months to complete my first manga. Just Hang in there!!!

yeah, i know it takes a while to complete a manga. i would've been done by now if i hadn't have stopped. T_T

Yeah, I really cannot wait until my manga called Necro-Marrow to be completed, I have been working on it for a total of 3 months and i am still on Chapter 000, because i am wanting to use this Manga to get me into the College i want to attend.

*snorts* Yeah, I've noticed that my manga is going to take a long time. I've done seven pages in the last two weeks (only because I've been working on it non-stop), and I hope I'll be able to get it done before the month is up. As a more experienced artist you are, Monsun, what do you think of the pictures I drew in my last post? Just so you know, I don't expect praises. I can take constructive criticism, especially if it is in the case of my artwork.
In your profile comments, I asked if I could have a link to one of your web mangas. Would that be alright? I would really like to check it out.

Cyrus, I looked over all of your pictures, and for a 15 year old, they are great, on thing that can be improved on is dimensional preception, which is a sense of 3-D. This can be achieved by Shadowing and such. You seem like you have a very Advanced character Generator in your brain, I know when i was first starting out the biggest problem for me was Character Creation and Consistancey, keeping the characters looking the same.

Thanks, Monsun, for the compliment and the criticism. I've been trying to get shadows in there, but I'm not too sure how to do that. They turn out looking unfit and strange. I'll have to do some more studying for that. With your facebook page, I also have 'Server Not Found'. I have facebook, do you think you could just give me your username on there? I don't draw my own work because simply put I fail but I have some GREAT story ideas that are always dark and twisted...I don't want to give away too much but I'm working on finding an artist who's style matches with my writing ^_^

coming up with the ideas, huh? cool. that's what my husband does. i have plenty of my own stories, but he comes up with a few, too, that would make great manga.

I draw a lot of darker stuff

i draw pretty dark stuff too, but not all the time. probably half the stories i've thought up are dark, the other half are lovey dovey cute.

hahaha isnt that how most of the manga artists works are?

yeah, everything i've read is either really dark, or uber cute. hmmm...that gives me an idea: combine the two. make something dark and cute. i bet i could pull off something like that. i'll try drawing something like that soon. if i can get the scanner to work, i'll post whatever i get.
