Last year when Menewsha was having an item design contest,
I joined even though I was sick so instead of pixels I submitted the sketch.
(it was allowed in the rules)
I lost but I wasn't really disappointed because there were so many,
many better entries entered back then and the winner's items were really good.

Then recently, when I login to a certain other site,
they just released something similar to what I had in mind!
Augh! >.<

No, I'm totally not screaming idea-thief here.
It's something based on a real toy anyway.
They look different, only the idea is the same.

But I'm really rather seeing it as an item on Mene than other site. ^^;;

Wow that IS rather similar...Like even the color pattern around the neck is the same pretty much.

I wouldn't doubt them if one of the pixelist is a member here and saw the design..

People claim gaia is so awesome and hawt with their Item designs but w/e...they take idea's from other's just like everyone else.

Now that you mention it, the head's color pattern
does look kind of similar too.

But still, it was something from over a year ago,
even I have to circling around to find the thread,
and if someone really was coming to copy an idea,
there were definitely many greater entries than mine.
Anyway, maybe it's really pure coincidence?

I just regret the fact that instead of seeing the toy
on Menewsha's cute avatar, it will be on theirs. ^^;

I don't see why Mene didn't use it. It fits the site well....could have gone into the Toy store..

I enjoy most Items here...even if you can't match with some and other's glitch on male bases. x.x;

That's why I come up with the idea for my design.

I haven't been really playing or buying anything
from the stores in that site for months already,
but maybe I would login to shop for that one,
even if just to observing it more closely. :P

Hopefully after the pixelists are done
with their misson to edit some of the items,
they will be more matchable with other items. ^^

or is it a different glitch for male base?

Mainly pants. I can actually list all the pant's that glitch on the male base. Usually around the hips or the shoes. I think they know about them though. ^^;;

I don't have many male items
so I never know about those glitches.
Hopefully they'll get fixed too then. =3

No worries - we'll fix glitches as we can. ^^;

You've also got to know that sometimes our pixelists experience the same thing. XD; They've been working on something in the back end and then another site releases a similar item first! It's frustrating and there's a discussion about whether or not it'd look like we got the idea from the other site... x_x;

I've had this happen to me too, though not so closely, I don't think... I'm still grumpy over the Gaia Steampunk item they have - since some of the things that it turns into look vaguely similar to the steampunk items that will eventually come out when my items are repixeled. x_x;

Well they can't copyright Theme's so it doesn't matter really.

You just can't use stuff like Kiki/Coco/OMG/AFK and their NPCs (Which are lame compared to Mene's <3)

So make all the items you want and...Chat with members and see what they would like to see.

But don't ask the same people...You'll just get a bunch of "More Cute Girl stuff and PETS!" <//3
Blah...I think all the pixelists should stop working on Girl items for the moment and focus on their Male Items...

AND ENOUGH PANTS ALREADY! All we ever get is black pants with color tones that don't match anything....Enough pants..

Wow, I guess with the many new avatar sites sprouting up lately
it's really not easy to always create something that's totally one of a kind.
It would be suck if the already pixeled new items
won't get the chance to be released at all in the end
only because they look similar to items from other sites.

You know, the one glitch I hope won't be fixed anytime soon
is this gender-bending glitch which enables us to switch
from avatar's hairs to items from one gender to another.

That glitch is what giving the male avatars an ability to have

a more choice of items to wear from the female's wardrobe,
and it gives Witch a way to wear this pretty male hakama. xD

It's probably just a coincidence. If you look hard enough, you can see some differences.

I'm on Staff and the items I designed are a bit complicated, so they keep getting put off in favor of events, basically. XD; I don't mind so much. If I'm not mistaken, Chibi's winning items still haven't entirely been released. XD So I've waited much less time than her. LOL.

@ CK ~ I see. :'D Your items did look kinda complicated, but so do some of the skirts recently released.

And I didn't know someone elses' items still haven't been released. xDD

I wouldn't worry and/or pick it apart if I were you; those toy horses have been in existence for a long time now and there's not too many patterns one could add to a traditional looking one either. I was told throughout my childhood that when one person thinks of something six other people in the world thought of it as well.

To those of you saying the idea was likely stolen/you wouldn't be surprised if it was stolen: If you're a person that's just saying this because you dislike Gaia that's a very weak thing to base an assumption off of. I can assure you that Gaian staff members don't come to Menewsha to snipe new item ideas; that's both absurd and too time consuming.

Oh yeah gaia did just come out with those items. xD

That's never happened.... However, when I was younger--and never watched TV--I wrote these great stories. Then I watch a few fantasy TV shows and--oh! They used my idea, and everyone called them terribly unique. XP It was just as unique when I came up with it; they just got it publicized first. :headdesk:

At least don't take it as staff thinking that Gaia stole, Tro. XD

It's a coincidence, really. All of it is. XD

I've created fan-characters with similar costumes/details that eventually showed up in the Batman (official) universe. I was shocked (there was even a character with a purple and black swirly costume - and they came out with Inque for Batman Beyond) - but I knew they hadn't really stolen from me. XD It was just an amazing coincidence. XD

When you compare that to a brown and white and red hobbyhorse, the hobbyhorse is a much simpler coincidence. :3

PS: Branny - A male set was created to go with my set. XD No worries! It's really awesome!

Why do people feel the need to refer to Gaia as 'a certain avatar site'??
We all know what you're talking about, especially when you post an avatar of theirs. It sounds a lot less awkward to just call it by its name.
