I need a mindless break right now. I'm not tired, but I'm just beat mentally. What do you guys do when you need mindless breaks?

Playing video games seems to be pretty mindless now that I have been doing it for so long. More like a low mental functionality in so many words.

Usually just wander aimlessly on the internet - like, go surfing through wikipedia articles or look up random art that you know you'll never comment on.

I've been getting into Mahjong tiles as a relaxer - I just click whatever matches, don't really care if I loose.

Honestly, I feel like most of my time on the internet is mindless.

I turn on either The Twilight Zone, or some science program and do extreme SuDoKu puzzles. It keeps me occupied, but lets my mind wander where it wants.

I either play games, or watch a beloved film I've seen a million times over.
Like Pride and Prejudice (the BBC version) I've seen (and read) it so many times, I don't need to follow the story anymore, I can just switch off and look at the pretty costumes and scenery.
*le sigh*

Coloring seems popular. So does internet and games on here. Hmmmm, there was a girl on my dorm who was CONSTANTLY coloring and I guess that was why. I can see how that'd be mindless and sorta soothing.

I go feed the geese at a park not far from here.
They are so tame that they will eat seed from the palm of your hand.

Listen to music. Bake cookies, cake, cupcakes, brownies, and anything else. I color from time to time with watercolors, and different pencils and pastels, also I paint. I have my piano and I'm thankful for that, and I usually go on YouTube to find out how to play a song I like that I know I want to learn. Like right now I'm learning "How to Save a Life." I have it down but I'm searching for something I could put between so I don't have to sing every time I play it.

A truly mindless activity: sitting in total silence, blankly staring at nothing.

No thinking. No "doing". A completely stilled mind. I suppose most people
would call it meditation, but I do not use the term because of the spiritual
connotations. Any random thoughts that stray, I ignore and they die off.

As I see it, coloring (and the like) engages the mind and therefore isn't
mind-less. You're using your mind and therefore generating thoughts:
"Let's color this red" or "now I add the sugar". The activity may not
challenge your intellect, but still...

Your mind is busy; you are not mind-less.

Try to doodle on a page with no real image intended in the end... kinda a way to just talk through doogles without thinking... but if you CANNOT stop thoughts, write them down. You'll feel better with the thoughts out of your head then in there. :|
