This would be the last night in the Academy, Merik knew. He was an Elf Hunter, exterminating the most vile of witches. The quest had been going on for sixty-some years, but Merik just knew it would end in his lifetime. The last of the Elves would be taken out.

Hopefully by him, and his partner. He'd been in training since he was young, around the age of five, being paired with another hunter who matched his skills and offset his bad traits when he was ten. An average life for a young hunter.

The dark haired male stood, arranging his feet carefully on the branch, his mind clearly on other affairs. They'd been given a tip. A small community of Elves a hard days ride north. Tomorrow morning, Merik and his partner would begin their journey on swift horses. Their mission being simple. Find the cave the elves were supposedly holed up in, and kill them all.

A smile danced on Merik's ruby lips as the tall form jumped, landing on the balls of his feet at the foot of the tree. As for this violet eyed boy, he'd been relaxing and daydreaming, even if he should have been sharpening his weapons and sparring. He could hear his partner calling him, however, and she knew his favorite hiding spots. It wouldn't be long until she popped up, wanting something or another. The smile widened, after all, what were best friends for if not to get them to do things for you?
