I saw a topic of this on another site, and I was wondering what would be some responses of this?
If this was talked about before, I'm sorry. I looked for a topic, but found none.
When I asked my Mother where babies come from, she told me the old story about the stork. I found out the rest in health class when I was grown.
So how did you find out?
Any funny stories about it? (nothing graphic now, keep it pg-13)

Sadly my father was one of those "let's not skimp out on the important details! I went to med school!" and decided the best way to learn was to watch. He grabbed a few of the recorded tapes he had saved of my brother and I and voila, at 8 I learned. To this day I am mortified.
I remember my friend bringing me back pictures of when she went to Disney I think? This was years ago, but they used to have a ride which explained these things to you. xD I cracked up.

Oddly enough it was first from a medical TV show then from my exgirlfriend. We grew up together and her mom was a nurse at the time so she knew and decided to share.
Oh and EVERYONE knows that the stork brings an egg down to the mother and the babies hatch out of eggs.

My mom's always been pretty blatant with me about scientific things such as the way a female body works (eggs and the like), but I had not clue what the other parts even looked like until I was 17.
Mom really regretted not telling me, and I regret not knowing...

Clair was about... 4? Her parents both work in the medical field, so they didn't want to skimp out on explaining the truth, but they weren't blatant about it, either. They bought me a book about a boy who was upset because a little girl on the play ground told him how babies are really born, and he thought she was lying to him. He asked his parents, and they explained it in the story in a way that didn't skimp details, but wasn't really full on details. They explain the sex part of it as a mother and father become very close. *shrugs* From that book, at such a young age, I took away a healthy understanding of what it was. As the years went on, and I got older, I just sorta added in things that I learned here and there, filling in the little holes (like what exactly they meant by "very close"). ^^
OH! And if you're wondering why at 4, that's when Clair's sister was born. Her parents had to come up with a way to explain the new baby. ^^

I was told of the stork story, too.
At the time, I was thinking, "Cool. I can get new babies and pickles from the same place!"

My mum and dad never really bothered with all that "When a mummy and a daddy love each other they decide they want a baby and the stork brings them one" stuff. My mum was always very plain with me, so from a young age I knew that babies came from the mothers stomach.
It was when I was nine my mum went into all the details about it. That has scarred me for life, obviously I knew before, but the thought of her and my dad...ugh...it's enough to give you nightmares.

I figured it out by myself, sadly. By the time mom decided it was okay for me to know, I was 9 and had already stumbled across a few porn sites. I was a very, very curious child, and when I was really young, it was either 'you tell me, or I'm going to find out the answer myself, no matter what.'
Before that though, I thought babies were made by some special connection when two people kissed. Reasoning to me then was that everyone who kissed in the movies had babies later, so that was obviously it. XD

I don't quite remember how I found out, but I never really wondered. I was one of those kids that just imagined my way around things, ya know? I guess I truly knew when my first younger sister was born. I was 6 then.

My parents didn't tell me anything.
I remember in like 5th grade, my friend emily came to school and was like," My mom taught me about s-e-x!" (Since, being fifth graders, heaven forbid we say sex. Some people in my school still don't, i'm like WTF?) She told me that a guys privates get inserted into the girls.XD
After that, everything I learned, I learned just because i spent so much time online on websites like Gaia, where sex talk runs rampant.

I hadn't really thought about it until I was around 10 and one boy in the grade had found out and wouldn't shut up about "sexxorz lol". I was never blatantly told until about 13, and I kinda pieced it together around 11. I remember being really proud of myself, finally understanding, then quickly being revolted.

My parents told me the story about the stork, but when I was in fourth/fifth grade they sat me down and told me how babies REALLY came to be. Of course, the only reason they did that is because that day I came home from school and asked what sex was. (My friend was going around at recess telling people he had seen his parents have sex, or something along those lines.)

When we were little, my parents told us that you prayed for a baby, and then God puts a tiny baby in the mum's tummy. The baby grows until it's big enough to come out, then the doctor cuts a hole in mum's tummy and takes the baby out.
I guess it was sort of true; in their opinions as extremely religious people (like they genuinely did pray that they'd be able to get pregnant, and they really do believe my mum got pregnant because God blessed them) and my mum had to have c-sections... they just missed out a lot of details.
I learned about sex from my older cousin. I'd heard bits and pieces from school, and asked her about it, and she explained it all. Then in school we all had sex education (when I was 9) and everything was explained clearly and in more detail, including a video showing how babies are usually born.
Then when I was 11 my mum finally decided to have "The Talk" with me... by which point, I probably knew more about sex and birth than she did.

I never asked "how babies are made" I think. I just kind of accepted that they were in a tummy, and then they were out!
How I learned about "sex" though? Well, my plder sister loved friends, and she always watched it, so I knew at around age 8 or 9 that sex was when people et naked and go into a bed together. It was also around that time that My mom got a bunch of books about the stuff for my sister, who was starting to question about it. I took the books from her room, because they were body books, And I had one about how I got sick and where hiccups came from. I figured it would would end up to be that kind of book.
I was wrong.
But I pretty much knew everything about it when I was 12, but was incredbily embarrassed about it. I refused to say the proper names for anything, I was that bad.

I was never told of any storks or eggs xD It's actually a whole different story for me because I have two moms, so it's not like they were all, "Your father and I conceived you" XD They never bothered giving me the "talk" because they knew I'd found out from my friends anyways XD
Besides, I wouldn't have been able to sit through "the talk" without puking.

Babies are brought to you by the stork of course. After you have summoned it. But you can only learn the secret of summing the stork if you're part of the Adult Conspiracy.

I was told by a cousin of a similar age at the time that babies came from a woman's belly button.
Sad thing is that I believed it for a long, long time, and pondered how exactly that worked for many a night until suddenly, health class! ._.
