The Tournament
The Tournament is conjured/made up by the higher races who wish to test other races on their abilties to survive. WIth this being said, the higher races are called Royals who believe it's necessary to test others and with this Tournament, they can. The Tournament is simple, you go all out with a random chosen partner by the Royals to get the artifact and bring it back within a time limit. Sometimes it would take hours, minutes, or even days. This Tournament is a yearly long ordeal, depending on how many artifacts you get, depends on how far you get to go.
"Welcome ladies and gentlemen, we are the Royal, and this is the Tournament you have been chosen for." A female Royal with blood red hair up in a neat bun, silver eyes, and dressed like the other female as a goddess. The Royals felt they ruled over and would pass judgement on others. They felt as if they were gods and goddesses themselves. However, not everyone saw them that way, and others would envy them. "The rules are simple, we pair you up with someone you do not care to be paired up with so that you may learn to get along with them and survive to the end" she continued, everyone knew her name, she was known as Antike, ancient as in she was one to suggest the idea of Royals centuries ago. "Who wishes to step forward to accept their fate first? State your name and race" Antike asked as her eyes searched the large crowd.
A young looking male, gorgeous and had dangerous, red eyes stepped forward. He stood about 6"0, athletically fit, and wore a simple outfit. A long dark red coat with a black short sleeve underneath, black jeans, and black boots with a red tint to match. He wore a black gentlemen's hat that hid his face a bit. His name was "Xavin Irvine, full vampire" "Very well, who will step up to be paired up with him?" Antike asked as the other Royals stayed behind her and watched for another to step forward. "Anyone?" she repeated after a couple of minutes that went by.
(I am not Antike, just made her up for this)

Medora glanced around at the crowds as her name was called. Green eyes wrinkling in distaste she moved forward to stand in front of everyone else with a sure and steady gait. Though her wings were hidden, one had th impression that the young angel would take flight at any moment. She'd never died, but instead had been given this gift of flight and magic when she'd come to the aid of another much like her. A once human angel who'd become her mentor and friend. Of course Medora was more of a warrior then anything else, which was why she'd come to this tournament.
Crossing her arms over her chest, she brushed a stray strand of light chocolate colored hair from her face as she waited for someone to step forward. If it was a demon, she could deal with that. At least they didn't simply take a person's life blood without asking. Killing in such a way made Medora shiver in disgust. Those creatures were the talking dead, they should have been resting peacefully within the earth, or have been burned and their remains spread into the winds to join their ancestors. But no, instead they marched around with the living in some strange semblance of cruel life.

"And you're name is?" Antike asked as she stood at her spot talking to Medora. The sun was high above them, however, there was a spell over it to keep any vampires in the groups from burning. Irvine was a vampire fully and being alived for many years he found a way to walk in the sun, but, the downside was that it would tire him out and then make him sick as a side result.
Irvine looked over, 'Is this girl supposed to be my partner in this quest?' Irvine thought to himself raising an eyebrow. He was expecting someone else, something else, defiantly not a female would be paired up with him, but, if it means less killing around eachother, then he would be fine with it. He waited to see if she would speak like the elder had asked.

Taking a deep breath, she looked up at the powerful Royal asking the question. "Medora." Not too intent on giving too much information, the young angel was tempted to let her wings fly free so she could flutter them in nervousness. She'd not thought that stepping forward meant she'd be paired up with this man, this vampire! A creature of darkness, of blood, of death, just being near him made her skin crawl. Turning to shoot a green eyed glare at the man she sighed.
"Angel." Let them pair them up, the royals would have to deal with the consequences. It wouldn't be the first time a team had killed each other because of differences. It was a rather good thing that the laws of the tournament meant that no grievances could be taken out of it. Otherwise wars might have begun and that was the whole reason why the tourneys were put in place. This way people lived peacefully with each other, and aired their grievances during the events.

(sorry sorry, family issues rose up and I can't always stay focus when that happens. If this is short it's because I only got five hours of sleep and step dad woke me up)

The royals talked about others who were paired up: Humans, elves, fey, faeries, illussionists, mages, warlocks, demons, etc. Soon enough the royals said that the tournament would begin and everyone would be teleported to a random spot with their partner. The vampire and angel were teleported to a forest like area with trees all around them, dead and alive, there seemed to be more life in this area than dead. So this would be on the angel strength side than the vampire's.
They had a list in their hands (one copy for each person, two for a team of two) and they had to find the items in order together. The first item they had to find was called a: Immortal Moon Stone, nor a vampire of the dead, or an angel of the light can touch it seperately. But, they must find it in the middle of a large needle stack, problem is, the needles are silver and so is the stone orb they look for. The needle stack (like a hay stack) is as large as five miles long and wide. And two miles tall. No one knows where it came from, but, it was a great opsticle to use.

The angel looked from the list of items to the strange forest around. Her eyes fell upon the silver hay stack and with a sigh she read the first item. The moon, any moon, was likely to be silver. Glancing over at her vampire partner, the angel let out a sigh. Medora didn't expect him to be of much help, if any. Didn't silver have an adverse effect on vampires? "Will you even be able to help me sort trough these?" stated the brunette as she knelt down with a sneer to begin shifting the pile needle by needle to try and find the stone.
((sorry for it being short.))

(don't worry about shortness, I've been sick lately so sorry about not replying so fast)
"I can, but, it's going to take forever to do it that way" he spoke and looked at all of them, "Light should shine off it and create a shadow...but, they didn't say what kind of orb it was except the basics" which makes it harder to find. Surely there was an easier way to do things, good thing about the myth was..."True, Silver does harm us, but, I do have gifts that others do not" the silver would burn his skin, but, it wouldn't kill him unless it was left there for too long.

Whispering and murmuring to herself she tried to think. Pausing in her searching momentarily she began wondering why. Why had they used silver needles? Yes it would hinder some people but there must have been another reason too. "Tell me then, what are you planning?" Maybe the orb was silver. Her mind kept running around with these thoughts until the angel stood with a sigh to peer at the pile. Hands on her hips, Medora frowned at the pile like staring at it could make what they searched for rise to the surface. Actually ... Something of the sort wasn't an entirely bad idea.

(sorry sorry overfilled with art commissions)
"Well, something with light shining down upon it would probably cast a shadow and it seems the sun is in a dimming mood today" he spoke as he saw the sun was almost blue like the moon but lighter and faded. "I do not have any powers over the light" the only ones he did have, he didn't like to use, or seemed to be weird for his kind, such as healing all but himself. Well vampires could heal naturally, it was just slow, and taking another vampire's life was the main and only poison.
