So it's snowing here right now, and I'm hoping it'll stick around until Christmas (though I've heard that's pretty unlikely here) I've only had one White Christmas in my life, and I wasn't even with my whole family because there was a blizzard and we had to turn around on the way there. I suppose that's what I get for living in the mildest part of Canada [laugh]

So how about you? Do you get White Christmases in your area? Are they really as awesome as people seem to think? Any funny stories about snow at Christmas?

We get white Christmases quite a lot here. I think last year was the first year in five that we didn't have one, the snow came about two weeks early and arrived two weeks late. White Christmases are pretty, but snow is just a hassle that I could do without to be honest. Snow turns into ice and slush and it just makes everything harder. I'm a total misery guts when it comes to snow. Especially as a lot of the time it tends to ruin my plans.

I don't really have any funny stories though. Though when I was about one or two (it was one of my very first Christmases anyway) the snow was mentally deep and my mum and dad had to carry me up to my grannies house because they couldn't get my buggy out in the snow. It was like knee deep on my dad and he's a pretty tall guy xD

I doesn't feel like December yet here, no snow so far. ): Way too warm!!

I remember years ago it snowed on Halloween, it always snows here. But it's either a lot or not enough. My mom jokes that it only snows a lot when she doesn't buy a sled, and it never snows enough on years she buys them. I'll ask her if she bought one this year for my sister.

Aww all the rain washed the snow away here! D: Oh well, I think it'll be back. I could still see my breath all day and I'm going to need to pull out my fur coat (I bought it second-hand, thinking it was faux! I'm not a monster ;.;) soon.

The weather just doesn't make sense anymore, I really think corporations and people in power have become too greedy in regards to the world and now we are all going to pay the price unfortunately.

I wouldn't mind seeing snow for Christmas but when you got to drive in it to get to work and it becomes icy then it becomes really problematic. Cold winters aren't too bad, as long as they kill off all the excessive insects.

I've biked in it for a week when my car broke down and will never do it again. I would rather walk when it's that cold. All I can say is car don't fail me now lol

The only time there was any fear of there not being a white Christmas, was like 3-4 years ago. It had snowed, then it all melted the week before Christmas, only to snow again Christmas eve. I live in the prairies of Canada though so snow is pretty much a given around here.

The weather here right now is bizarre. It's the beginning of December, and the temperature is nearly in the low 70s. And I live in central USA! This isn't normal for this time of year here. o_o

We sometimes get white christmases. But most of the time we get really, really cold, brown christmases.

Actually there was an article on yahoo that claims that scientists say that the Artic Ice circle is melting three times faster what we thought it was back in the 90's ... Sandy really wreaked destruction and some coastal areas are now under water like Seaside New Jersey... there is a roller coaster I rode a couple summers ago there that is now in the water. California is getting pounded with four months worth of rain... Sea level is rising and we may as well start getting rid of coastal property because soon it will all be underwater.

@Elleryn - Don't worry I'm sure it will eventually come.

I'm sitting here in the midwest thinking the same thing.. But we're use to 70's one day, then 40's the next day. Just always wear a jacket and be ready for 20 minute rain storms.

It's usually around the high 90s here during Christmas, so most likely we won't get a white Christmas. :c
I remember it snowed once about 11 years ago, it was perfect! It snowed on Christmas eve and then melted on Christmas in the afternoon. Short lived but never forgotten.

A white christmas? That's a joke. We don't even get snow when it's winter! I live in one of the most humid areas in New Zealand, so I think the world would have to be ending for it to snow here at christmas.

We usually have (very) white Christmases, but it hasn't snowed yet this year, and I am vastly disappointed. First snowfall is usually Halloween and I don't know where all the snow is at!

Snow? What ees thees... snow... you speak of?

I live in the middle of California, so no snow for Howdy. I've had chilly Christmases, but never white, wintry ones.

I actually don't want a white christmas, since I am going to be with my boyfriend. I don't want bad weather right now.

IT'S FINALLY SNOWING YAE.

It's supposed to only be about three inches, but it looks like it'll be snowing hard most of the night and it started snowing as soon as I got to school (of course. so i couldn't enjoy it).

I'm in Southern California for probably the next few years. I've always lived somewhere in California. No snow for me.

...that's actually not entirely true, I've seen some snow when I was in the SF Bay area...but I don't think I ever saw enough there that it actually stuck to the ground. Which is kinda annoying, because it sure gets cold enough! D:

You know what's the worst? When it's -7 and not a cloud in the sky.

But as soon as it gets cloudy, the temperature rises JUST enough to make it rain, not snow. And it's that really awful freezing cold rain to D:

I live in south western Pennsylvania so we usually do get snow, but not this year :( Possibly global warming? Who knows, I am not a scientists, lol. So i guess I am having a green Christmas? Personally I think Christmas decor looks just not right without snow. It is almost depressing for someone who has grown up with snow to suddenly have to go without it. *sigh

We have already gotten about 10 inches of snow in this area, and there is suppose to be more on it's way. I think there's a good chance for a white Christmas here. It's unusual for us to not have snow at Christmas, sometimes it falls on Halloween but it's been milder for the last few years so far.
