Name: Ethan Russi
Age: 16
Appearance: He has olive skin, Green eyes and spiky, black dyed hair with a few blue streaks(Normally a chestnut brown, but he hasn’t let anyone know that since he was 13.) His face is normally adorned with a cocky smile. He has several piercings; Tongue, eyebrow, and a couple littered up his right and left ear in studs and hoops. His normal attire consists of ripped jeans, black boots and a T-shirt.
Interests: playing bass (he has a band that he thinks is going to go far), music in general, comic books(primarily DC), animals (They’re a weak spot for him). and smoking
Personality: Stubborn, jokester, energetic, goal oriented, hot-headed, caring toward people important to him, a tiny bit conceited
Brief history: Even when he was a baby he was a trouble maker, you could ask his mother and she would happily tell you about the time he ran away at home at 8, or trying to eat things out of the dumpster when he was 5. At least, you could get her to talk if she didn’t find your liquor cabinet first.
Since before he could remember his mother has been an alcoholic and his father has been abusive, both emotionally and physically. It’s most likely why he’s always he’s been a complete ass to both teachers and authority figures alike. He spends most of his time playing in his guitar with his friends in their lead singers garage, and avoids home as much as possible, to the point that he’ll sleep on a bench until someone tells him to move. For the most part, he keeps up a tough guy façade, and treats life like it’s a joke.

Band Members:

Liam Walsh: (17) The Voice, write songs. A little into himself, but also pretty kind. He loves the ladies. Peach pale skin Has a pretty face, and charming smile. Chiseled features with a bit of stubble, nose ring and brown eyes. Hair is blonde and that professional type of messy.
Connor Walsh: (14) Little brother of Liam, lead guitarist, has a stutter. Wants to be a ladies man like his bro. Looks a lot like his brother but his eyes are larger, and his skin shows more of his youth, very smooth and has been trying to grow stubble for forever. Small and wiry.
Jake Manning: (16) Just as hot headed as Ethan, has his back in any fight. Stuck up for Ethan when he was picked on when he was little. Drummer and background singer. Lanky. Pale and freckles, with red hair and green eyes.
Frank Jones: (16) Second guitarist. Pretty quiet, but he doesn't need to speak to the group for them to understand what he's thinking. He only speaks when there is something important going on. Pretty tall and bulky for a six year old. Black hair and with a short cut and blue eyes.

Name: Brodie Carlton
Age: 38
Appearance: At his work, Brodie likes to keep it smart-casual. He usually wears black trousers, perfectly ironed, with a "jazzy" shirt (the likes include bright pink, white with black spirals and his famous vomit checked shirt) toned down with a black sweater vest. His shoes are always perfectly polished. His glasses are simple black frames, they're not designer, but they could pass for it easily enough. His hair is a sandy blonde that sits neatly atop his head, there's a very noticeable parting on the far right that keeps his hair neat and tidy. His eyes are a deep chestnut, very warm and inviting, they sit perfectly with his creamy skin. He has a caring crinkly smile that is almost permanently on his face. At weekends, however, he is always seen in black jeans, a t-shirt and some trainers. He enjoys the casual laid back look. However, he cannot stand "scruffy" appearances.
Interests: Brodie loves to keep fit, he goes jogging every morning and on a Saturday will go to the local gym and lift some weights (not to mention rewarding himself with a sauna to keep his skin clear). He also really enjoys reading, classics are his favourites, such as the takes of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. Cooking and fine dining are also high on his list, he sees himself as somewhat of an amateur chef, his speciality being lamb shanks with minted pears.
Personality: Brodie is a very kind person, he'll do anything to help others. He's good natured with a wonderful sense of humour. He can sometimes come across as a little patronising, however he never means it. He is fairly shy at times, preferring to keep in a close knit social circle than speak to many that he doesn't know. He's a very clever man, but with so much capabilities, he does lack quite a few social skills making him awkward in most situations.
Brief history: Brodie grew up in a small town with his mother, Abigail. His father skipped town when she was still pregnant, so for most of his life it was just the two of them. She worked a lot, so Brodie was quite often alone, reading in his room. Brodie is an incredible effeminate man, and he realised from a young age that he was attracted to other men. He never told anyone, not even his mother who he shared everything with. His mother remarried when he was seventeen, but he never got on with the man, so he left home. He had no qualifications and no prospects, but he was incredibly fit. He decided to join the army on a two year contract and see where he wanted to go after. After his tour was finished, he went back to college and got a degree with English as his major and teaching as his minor. When he graduated he took a gap year travelling before moving to the city. He got himself a small apartment near the high school where he'd just secured a job as an English teacher. He'd worked there for the past fifteen years.

English class, mid-afternoon, a week into the school year.

Students were still excited about coming back to school after their long vacation and had plenty to talk to each other about, so the classroom was full of loud conversations. There was a positive energy about the classroom as they waited for the teacher to arrive. The talking in the room was permeated by a loud, persistent snore in the back of the class.

Ethan, his head atop his crossed arms, was having his last good nap of the day. It started in history, then math, then he would go to hang out with his friends at lunch, and then sleep in chemistry, before ending in english, his last class of the day. He was a growing boy and needed his sleep, after all. Who would begrudge him that?

When he wasn't sleeping, he was being a pain in the ass and disrupting the class, so even though it was a week in most of them have already gotten the drill down and chosen to ignore him instead of waking the sleeping lion and getting his fangs. Ethan felt that he had made a good routine of it, and the class year would move pretty smoothly from here on out. Well, just as long as this teacher let him sleep as well.

(I hope its alright! Its certainly been a while since I last rp'd =))

((It's great! Don't worry about it, I haven't RPed in months. Exams stopped that. >.>))

Brodie was one of the teachers in the school that had a certain casual level of respect. He was a fantastic professor of English, knowing the ins and outs of his subject better than anyone else in the building, yet he was also a teacher that was incredibly flexible with the way he taught and the sort of behaviour that he allowed in his classroom. Basically, he didn't mind chatter or laughter or teaching students in a way that was considered "unorthodox" to the other teachers but great fun to his pupils. The man, was by all means, a genius in that respect. It was very rare for him to have a student that failed the subject completely. Even the most stubborn or simple of students he could manage to pull up to a C grade.

His last class of the day was the tenth grade. In general, he liked the class. He'd only taught them a few times, but he had a feel for them so far. Some he knew were definitely A material and others he knew were slower, but were generally lovely. However, he knew there was one particular student that would cause him trouble through the year. On the whole, the class was fairly mature considering they were made up of sixteen and seventeen year olds, so therefore they were easier to get to work than the hyperactive younger years that he had dealings with in the past.

He walked into the classroom, where the sun was happily shining in the windows, and set his books down on his desk.

"Afternoon, guys," he said cheerily and sat down. "Quieten down a minute for role call."

The chatter died immediately as the students didn't want to anger him. He was so nice, often the students did as they were told. He went through the names, looking up and giving the student in question a smile when they replied, not only to be nice and give a silent hello, but to try and place their faces so he could learn their names faster.

"Ethan Russi?"

Brodie looked up to where he knew Ethan usually sat, and sure enough, he was there at the back of the room. Sleeping. Ethan was one student that Brodie certainly didn't need to put much effort into learning the name of. He made his presence known on the very first meeting.

Brodie sighed and stood up, sick of the rigmarole this student provided already. He walked up towards the back of the room and stood by Ethan's desk for a moment. The class were watching him like a hawk, some whispering to their friends about what they thought would happen.

"Russi!" Brodie shouted loudly, clapping his hands together. The noise was enough to wake the living dead, let alone a napping teenager.

The sound reverberated throughout the classroom and harshly in Ethan's ears. The boy snapped awake, nearly falling out of his desk chair. His eyes were wide in surprise until he saw the teacher standing over him.

He wiped a little drool from his chin and fixed his hair before shooting a glare up at his teacher. He could hear a couple chuckles from the students around him, and that only made him more embarrassed and infuriated.

"What the hell is your problem?!"

Of course he couldn't catch a break. He could tell already that this teacher was persistent. He wanted to punch him right in his smug fucking face... But no, then he would get kicked out of the school, and god knows he didn't need to hear what his parents would say about that.

Brodie raised his eyebrows, a smile playing around on his lips. He struggled not to chuckle at the reaction he got from Ethan. However, the other students were not as good as he and were giggling.

"What is my problem, Mr. Russi? Why, my problem is that I am trying to teach and you feel that it's perfectly acceptable to sleep. You're not at school for nap time, that's not been part of the syllabus since kindergarten. Now you may not have realised that, but now you've been informed of that you can buck up your ideas and behave suitably, can't you?"

Brodie nodded his head at Ethan and turned on his heel, walking back to his desk.

"Okay class, settle down. We've established that Mr. Russi is in fact alive, so lets return to the matter at hand, shall we? Bethany Stevens?"

"Here."

Brodie rattled through the remaining names on the list before placing the registration sheet back down on the desk. He smiled at the class and stood up.

"Today," he began. "Is going to be highly exciting. We get to decide what texts you want to study. We need to do a play and a novel, not to mention a handful of poems. I have some play extracts here that I want you to all have a read through silently on your own, then get into groups of no more than four and no less than two, and discuss which was your favourite and why. Then, we'll go round each group and see which play has the most votes. We'll then do the exact same for novels, but in different groups. Everyone understand?"

"Behave suitably my ass." He grumbled at the man's back as he walked away. He kept his head up, but propped it against one of his hands. He took out a piece of gum and began to chew it. As he went through the list of students, he started to drift off again, his eyelids fluttering shut.

He managed to keep his eyes open as the teacher began to explain the schedule for the day, and Ethan rolled his eyes. Great, just what he wanted to do. What the hell was the point of books, they didn't have any pictures! He needed something to keep the story going, keep it exciting! Poems were even worse. This was a load of horseshit. School was a load of horseshit.

He began to tap his foot irritably, his leg going up and down as he watched people start to pick partners with their eyes; they look over at their friends and give quick smiles or nods. He didn't really have anyone in the class he would call a friend. Sure he knew them, and would talk and be able to horse around, but in the end they never got in trouble, it was all him.

He started to blow bubbles as the papers began to get passed around. It was probably more Shakespeare crap. Whatever group he was in could read it, they wouldn't call him out for dozing off. Unfortunately, it seemed that his potential group partners were disappearing quickly into groups of 4's. Was he alone?

He passed out the sheets, putting piles at the beginning of each row, instructing students to take one and pass the rest back. It was the simplest way to hand out sheets.

"Any spares you can put back on my desk. Okay, does everyone have sheets? As you'll see, the choice of plays we have are: 'The Crucible', 'An Inspector Calls', 'The Long The Short and the Tall' and also 'Death of A Salesman'. Those four are the ones I selected out of the required reading sheets that would be most relatable to you, I mean who really wants to struggle through Shakespearean English when modern day English is hard enough?"

Brodie looked around the room to see that everyone was suitably paired up. He moved some people around, getting them seated in a formation that was more suitable for group work and much less formal.

"Ethan, who are you with? You don't appear to have moved."

Did anyone actually read the Shakespeare books anyway? Any play they pick he just reads the sparknotes for, so who cares? Either that or he didn't read it at all and just winged it.

Ethan eyed the happy groups as he fiddled with the papers in front of him. He counted each and every group...all fours? Really? This was a douche move! Were they all trying to lock him out?

When the teacher addressed him, he merely shrugged his shoulders and blew a bubble before making a loud pop noise as he broke it with his tongue and brought it back into his mouth.

"Apparently you counted the roster wrong, 'cause I don't got any partners." He smirked. Wanna get to an English teacher? Speak improper English.

Brodie looked around and true enough, every group did have four people.

"Not to worry," he said brightly. "We'll make a new one. Nate, Cara, will you both move up the back and create a group with Ethan please? Also, I think at the start of the next lesson we'll need to have a quick test on the proper use of grammar and syntax, just to make sure you all know how to properly construct sentences. You can all thank Ethan for highlighting this at the end of the class if you like."

There was some moaning and groaning as a rather chubby boy with flaming red hair and freckles and a tall skinny girl with long blonde curls made their way to the back of the room to sit with Ethan.

"Settle down," Brodie said and once again silence fell over the room. "Okay, one read through on your own and then discuss it as a group. In fifteen minutes we'll start a class-wide discussion of these."

Ethan just stared as the two students came to sit in a group. He ignored the groans and looks of annoyance that were shot at him from his peers. As if he gave a shit about a test, or being liked he'll just fail them like everything else.

He proceeded to 'read' about the paper, which meant staring at the lines on the packet until the words were just abstract shapes on the paper and snapping his gum obnoxiously.

pop snap pop snap

His popping went on through the stories. This was gonna be a long fucking class.

In the silence all that could be heard other than the occasional crinkle of paper, was Ethan chewing gum obnoxiously loud. Brodie had a thing about loud chewers. However, he had felt that there was enough of a conflict between the pair of them, looking for more reasons for them to disagree was not high on his list of priorities.

There were students like Ethan in every class. There was always one that saw themselves above the law, that didn't agree with the school system, that hated the subject so therefore didn't agree that anyone in the class could learn. By this point in his career, Brodie was used to dealing with them. Of course, their lack of cooperation was discouraging, but he could look past that.

Gradually chatter erupted over the room as people discussed the plays. Brodie could catch snippets of what people were saying, they typically followed what he expected of the students.

"This one is about witches!" one girl said excitedly. "I didn't even bother reading the rest!"

"Look, there's people hiding from Japanese soldiers in this one!" a boy said loudly. "If you guys don't pick this one I'm going to pelt you with dodgeballs in gym!"

Even though he was just staring, he couldn't help but read a bit about some snooty family all getting in trouble for one woman's suicide. It was sort of interesting, and it was always nice to see some rich bastards get what they deserve.

"Hey, do you think you can stop doing that?"

Ethan had been so absorbed in the story that he'd forgotten that he was popping his gum. He looked up at the pasty looking boy and raised an eyebrow.

"I dunno, do you think you can stop being so fat?"

Nate visibly flinched, his freckles disappearing under the blush that now stained his cheeks.

"Seriously. You should take some fat off of your body and give it to Cara, then maybe she'd have a decent rack."

Cara glared at Ethan, sticking her chest out a little further than she normally would have.

"Fuck you, Ethan! Leave us alone. It's not our fault that you are a pathetic weasel with no friends at all! Where do you get off saying anything to me and Nate!" she fumed, tossing her golden curls over her shoulders.

"Cara..." Nate said quietly. "Drop it."

"No! I won't drop it! This slug needs to learn some manners!"

Ethan snorted. He had friends! Lots of friends!...okay maybe like four friends. It wasn't his fault that they lived in different school districts! The only time he could see them was after school, when they played songs in Liam's garage. That's where his bass was now, if he left it at home with his parents it would be damaged or destroyed, something he learned long ago.

"Ooh, I'm a slug huh? I'd be insulted if that came from any girl but you, rats nest." he was referring to her hair, which she seemed to care so much about. He tapped his foot irritably and popped his gum. A week into school and he was sick of it already. The teachers, the people in here treating him like he's nothing, always looking down on him like he was some trash.

He needed a cigarette, he needed to get out of here, he needed some way to vent his frustration.

So he popped his gum one last time and spit it toward Cara, who let out a loud screech. Nate's chair fell back with a loud clatter as the boy jumped up, his fists clenched. Ethan did the same, his arms out.

"You gonna do something? Huh ginger?!" Ethan was grinning now. This was a party! "Bring it on!"

"Boys!" Brodie roared "I will not tolerate such behaviour in my classroom! All three of you stay behind after class! Nate, pick up that chair that you nearly hit Austin with and move back to where you normally sit. You too Cara, shift yourself. Ethan, put that gum that you spat into the bin where it belongs, sit down and be quiet."

For a moment, no-one in the room moved. They'd never seen Brodie angry before. He never usually lost his temper. He was the nice guy, the teacher everyone loved. However now, he had shown them he was not a man to be trifled with. Bullying was one thing that he simply could not tolerate. The strong picking on the weak was something that disgusted him. His two years in the army did nothing but intensify his hatred.

"Did I not make myself clear?" he asked, calming down slightly. "Move. Now."

Nate and Cara followed his orders without question, both shooting the punk a dirty glance before going back to their seats.

Ethan felt something stirring inside him, no, not fear like the other kids. He felt adrenaline, a rush that he didn't normally get from teachers yelling at him. It was the sort of rush you got when you rolled down a hill in a shopping cart, or just chucked eggs at someones house. The only downside of antagonizing the man so much was that he now had to stay at school longer. Trying to sneak out with the rest of the class wouldn't work...

Ethan merely shrugged and used one of the plays to pick up the gum, roll it into a ball and toss it into the trash. After he got to his desk he began to stew in his frustration and decided to stay quiet for the rest of the class.

The class went forwards with out too much trouble after that. There was a slight debate over the texts that the class wanted to study, but all in all it went well. They selected 'An Inspector Calls' and 'To Kill A Mockingbird'. Both texts Brodie really enjoyed, so he was fine with teaching them. He explained the plot of both to the students just as the bell rang signifying the end of the day.

"Okay guys, good work today. I'll get the books to you on Monday and we'll start work on the play. Have a great weekend," he said cheerily, waving his hands as the students scraped their chairs back loudly, getting ready to leave. "Cara, Ethan, Nate, don't forget I want to speak to all three of you."

Brodie waited for all the students to filter out, as he did he began packing up his work materials so he could head off sharpish. He had dinner reservations tonight, so he didn't really want to hang around any longer than he needed.

"Right," he said sternly when it was just the four of them. "Would any of you like to explain what the heck went on back there?"

It didn't take two seconds for the two kids to sell him out. Ethan merely rolled his eyes.

"He had no right to speak to Nate like that, so I told him to stop. And then he.." She grimaced. The idea of his saliva on her was grossing her out so much, her OCD for cleanliness was going to start right here, right now.

"Please, you'd love the idea of exchanging saliva with me, I was just giving you the chance." He crossed his arms and smirked, but he didn't mean it, he just wanted to get to her. He never really noticed girls, just thinking of the idea reminded him of when he used to go places with his dad and he used to stare at all the ladies. It was disgusting.

"Ick, as if! Stay away from me!"

"Right," Brodie said, his voice tiresome. "Enough. You can sort your love lives out on your own time. Nate, Cara, consider this your first formal warning. One toe out of line on Monday and you are for a detention, okay? Now, on you go."

Cara glared at Ethan as she picked up her bag and left the classroom, Nate scurrying after her.

"She is right you know? There was no need to speak to Nate like that. You don't know his story and you certainly have no right to bully someone based on their physical attributes. I don't want to be harsh with you, Ethan. I don't mind if you don't care about the subject or about school, it's your prerogative. If you quietly rebelled, we wouldn't have an issue. However, I will not actively have you disrupting the learning of those that do care and I will certainly not have you making another student feel bad about themselves in my classroom. Understand?"

He didn't pay them any mind as the two left the classroom, except for a moment where he thought the two of them would make a good couple. They could be losers together.

Ethan clenched his teeth as the teacher blabbered on. What a load of shit.

"This never would have happened if you just let me sleep in the back of the class. This place is a fuckin' joke and you have no right to tell me what to do. Besides, he started it by talking to me in the first place." His voice rose a little, signifying his anger. The feeling of adrenaline fluttering in his chest as he stared the man right in the eyes as he spoke.

"And if you're quietly rebelling than you're not rebelling at all. You're just whining like a loser who doesn't know how to change the world to the way he wants. Now how about you just agree to let me sit in my corner and sleep, so I don't have to deal with this bullshit every day?"

Brodie raised an eyebrow. "So let me guess, this is the world you want? Being stuck in the establishment that you hate longer than you had to be. Wow, you've really thought this one through," he said sarcastically.

"Look, I'm not going to give you any differential treatment. If I let you sleep in the corner, I'd have to do the same to everyone. You can make this easy for yourself or difficult. If you choose to be disobedient, I will punish you the same I would any other student. If you choose not to make a fool of yourself, then we will get along just fine. No-one finds your behaviour amusing, Ethan. So if that was what you were aiming for, you have greatly misjudged the situation. Also, kindly keep a lid on your temper when talking to me. I'm not shouting, so you shouldn't be either."

"Would you like to strike up a deal?" Brodie suggested.

Ethan felt his face heat up a bit and he clenched his jaw. He did not like the way this guy was talking to him. He was acting like he was better than him or something. Who the hell does he think he is?

Okay, so his his plan didn't exactly go the way he wanted it to, but that didn't mean it wouldn't work out for him in the end. After all, the guy wanted to strike a deal.

"What do you have in mind?" He ground out, fists clenching at his sides. Because if it's not good, he is five seconds away from slugging the guy in the face. He is so sick of that fucking attitude. Teacher or not he was going to get what he deserves.

"You don't obnoxiously chew gum, bully other students, create unwarranted destruction or sleep in my classroom. I'm not saying you have to work or contribute to the discussion, I only ask that you sit quietly. As I've said before, I won't have you disrupting the learning of the other students," Brodie said. He paused, looking at Ethan for a moment. "You actually seem quite an intelligent young man. If you put in some effort, changed your attitude, you could do well. Maybe make friends with some of the other students?"

The last suggestion Brodie really hoped that Ethan would act upon. Although he appreciated people wanting to be an individual in situations, he did notice that for that entire week, not other student spoke to Ethan kindly. They would speak if they had to, but not in the way friends would. Brodie thought that was extremely sad, school was a difficult enough time as it is, let alone with no friends to make the day pass a little quicker.

Ethan was genuinely listening to his deal, until he got to the end of it. Then he started to see red. Change his attitude? Become friends with these whiny assholes?

"You don't know anything about me!! Don't you tell me to change my attitude, or make friends with any of those kids! I don't need anymore fucking friends! You don't know what I've been through!"

And without thinking, his hands moved forward to shove the man. This was not his brightest moment, nor was it his stupidest, but it was pretty far up there in the 'dumb fucking idea' category.
