Okay...I am a HUGE fan of mystery computer games...not really PS/2/3, Xbox...etc....I like playing mystery games for my computer.
When I was little I would play the King's Quest series...and I absolutely LOVED them...a little bit later on I started to play Shivers 1 and 2. Recently I've been looking for a mystery computer game to play kind of like the ones I mentioned above.
I love mysteries/puzzles etc, but I can't seem to find many good ones out there. I want something challenging and age appropriate. The King's Quest ones were for when I was younger. I'm going to be 20 in June so something sophisticated with difficult mysteries is what I'm looking for. Can anyone give me some recommendations? I have a Windows XP.

- Old computer games that you LOVE
- Mystery games
- Anything else!
I'm desperate to start playing something good soon.
The rating doesn't matter (i.e. E, T, M...)
I started to play the Syberia series...but I found those to be a little bit repetitive and had a lot of 'back and forth' not really mystery/puzzle solving.

I rather liked Syberia.
Anyway, have you ever heard of the Myst series?
I think the first one came out years (Like, seriously, 10?) ago, but it's always seemed like a nice series.
I always needed walk throughs though. >.>;
I can't think of any others that stood out when I was solving mystery games.

Yep, I know that series...my dad was into it, I never actually tried to play it, maybe I'll get into that. I don't know. ^^
My cousin really likes it...I think he just got the newest one...5 or 6 I don't know lol, but there are a few out there. I have heard some good things about it.

The only video or computer games I've ever played or wish to take the time out of my busy life and play are roller coaster tycoon (any of them), SIMS, guitar hero, kingdom hearts, or DDR. Laaaa to anything else. I think mystery games would be fun, but they'd take too long for me to finish. haha!

I only play RTS and Simulator games... but I AM interested to get a mystery game! I love detective conan! and ish trying to get their game...
and that is the only mystery game I know, being a more anime fan than a game fan. My favourite type of game would always be RTS and Simulator game...Mystery genere is not as advance or fully developed as them....

Anyways...Guh! Finally! Someone else who knows about the King's Quest series! The first one I played was VII...and then I found out we had V and VI around. Never really got that far in either of those though. ^^; I kept getting scared of the monsters or something.

There was one that I really liked when I was younger but I never beat it. It's called the 10th Guest or something like that and the story takes place in a haunted toy maker's mansion. There are a lot of puzzles and I got lost in one of the areas and never made it out.

Ah Yeah, I know what you're talking about...only I think you mean 7th Guest. And 11th hour is the next one in the series...I have 11th hour and I've decided to try and play that game. It's kind of old, but looks pretty decent.

Yeah it's 7th Guest. I just found the disc in a box today, so I'm going to try it out on my computer and see if it works. I first got it when I had a 98, and now I have an XP so it might not work.

Ah, in my younger day, I played BARBIE detective, there I said. I liked the pretty graphics that and the games that you had to do to get clues where fund except a few. Also it took me a bit to figure out how to beat them. I think I know where both discs are. I can't do any mystery games that are Myst and kinfolk, they are too deep for me. So are Nancy Drew, also those scare me due to I think you can actually die in both Myst and Drew. Right now I'm getting my fill of grown up I-spy and loving it, it's called Mystery Case Files. I only have one but I hope to get the rest.
