So last night I went to the Brand New / Thrice show in San Diego. I am a big fan of Brand New, and a new fan of Thrice.
I have to say, that Thrice blew Brand New out of the water last night! Their show was utterly amazing. I don't even know what else to say. I was in awe, and I am definately going out to buy the new Thrice albums!
The only Thrice CD that I have is Vheissu, which I don't like that much. I have heard a few other songs that I liked a lot, though.
My favorite Brand New CDs are Deja Entendu, and Your Favorite Weapon. The reason I was so dissappointed in Brand New last night was because they played most of the songs from The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me, which I am not fond of. Every time I listen to that CD I get sad, depressed, and sleepy. The concert made me tired. I only heard one or Two songs from Deja Entendu
I wish Thrice was headlining instead of Brand New, because I would have liked to hear more of the new songs from the Fire and Water album. The ones they played were amazing.
Sidenote: I have been to many loud concerts and have never had a problem with ringing in my ears before...until last night =S They rang after the concert and they are still ringing. I looked it up online, and I found out that if it doesn't go away in 2 - 3 days, to go to a doctor. I hope it does =/

I honestly haven't listened to either of those bands.
I've heard they're good though, from friends.
The next concert I plan on going to is Hellogoodbye, and Say Anything playing at the Warfield theater in San Fransisco.
I'm excited!

omg. I'm going to that show not this weekend, but next weekend xD at SOMA in San Diego.
Except I'm going to see Polysics, it's just my luck that Say Anything and HelloGoodbye will be there too. You should definately see Polysics. I have no idea how often they tour in America, but they are from Japan, and they are wonderful!!! Think Daft Punk, but Japanese.
It sort of sucks, because all of the 13 year old girls will be there to see HelloGoodbye, and I just want to see Polysics without having to deal with mass crowds.
I hate SOMA. That's where I was last night. Too many people that smell bad smooshed together.
EDIT:: ZOMG Traffic was horrible last night because Hannah Montana was playing at the Sports Arena, which is literally next to SOMA. There was traffic and no parking for miles.

I don't know...they don't sing much, and it's definately not in english (well some of the time)!
Go right now and look them up!! Listen to New Wave Jacket
If you're going to listen to Brand New, here are a few songs that i recommend:
From Deja Entendu:-Sic Transit Gloria ... Glory Fades
-I Will Play My Game Beneath the Spin Light
-Play Crack The Sky
From Your Favorite Weapon:-Jude Law and a Semester Abroad
-Seventy Times Seven
I like all of the songs from both of those albums very much =D
Trice Songs I recommend: (I haven't heard all of them, so there might be better ones out there
From The Artist in the Ambulance:
-Stare At the sun (they playe this at the concert and I was awestruck)
-The Artist in the Ambulance
From Vheissu:
-Hold Fast Hope
-Red Sky
They played a lot of songs from the new albums Fire and Water...again, I was in awe.

Hahaa yeah, it's sorta quirky. But I hear the live shows are stupendous! lol.
I edited my post...if you have time you should listen to those songs by Thrice and Brand New. I like them, but it might be a little too...much...for some people.

Nope, I haven't... But I will! Just not now, since I'm at work >.>
*padsyisninja*
I like listening to new bands...the only problem is there's so many of them! I probably hear about more indie bands than most people since a lot of my friends are in bands, and I help them out and sell merch for them (i only do it to get into shows for free xD j/k) and then I see bands I've never heard of, and they're always talking to them, planning shows and checking them out and stuff.
That's how I found out about Mayday Parade *inlove*

You lucky bum you! -_________-;;
I wish my friends were old enough to do that. xD
But no... not yet... xP

Hahaaa yeah, most of my friends are 23+
The music scene in San Diego is pretty big. I know like 20 people in different bands, lol. I met Mayday Parade while I was helping pass out CDs for my ex boyfriends band at Warped tour (which I got into for free lol). We swapped CDs, I listened to theirs, and I loved it! They're not as well known as Thrice and Brand New, however.
Getting in for free is awesome. My friend just started a new band, and I can't wait until they start playing bigger shows, so I can see more bands. xD oh yeah...and support them, heh.

Yeah, you can't forget the support, right? xD
Being young has major sucky points, maybe, just maybe, *twinky eyes* My friends will get into a music phase, and hopefully stay in it until I get my first free concert. X___x

Heh, nope! Can't forget the support. All of my friends have started playing at bars, which blows becasue I'm only 19, and I have to wait outside, or just not go. But I do support them...more than I should xD

I love Brand New. The second I heard The Devil and God.. I loved it. I know a lot of people didn't like it because it was more mature than t heir other albums but musically and lyrically it's so much better. There are songs on there such as Limousine that I won't listen to that often because it creeps me out but most other songs are awesome.
Aside from that album I like your favorite weapon quite a bit even though it is a pretty immature album. I love Jude law and Seventy times seven. I'm hoping to see them live when they tour this summer. Seems like every time they're in town something comes up where I can't see them. I've been wanting to see them for around six years now.
