Who else knows of E.S. Posthumus?
What's you're favourite song?

And for those who don't know who they are, allow me to get you up to
date.

E.S. Posthumus is an indie music group that composes and plays cinematic
music. Basically, epic classical music that fuses drums with orchestral and
electronic sounds.

They made the NFL theme song for CBS, the theme song for Cold Case, and
have their music in many movies. The trailer for the new Sherlock Holmes
movie even plays their music

My favourite song from them is "Arise".

I love them! I've been following them ever since Unearthed was first released. :3
My favorite songs by them would have to be Nara and Nolitus Pi.

I can't wait to hear their new album because I love the two singles that they've released so far. Of course, they haven't announced a release date, so it could be years before we actually see anything more from them. ;___;

Well, I'm a real music junkie, so when they first starting making music EVERYONE was raving about them in the music forums where I hang out. I checked out their website and they had some free clips that you could stream and they sounded so amazing. I got their album right away after that. :3

How about you? Did you hear about them online? Or did you hear their songs on tv or in movies before checking them out?

By the way, do you know any similar artists? I've been looking around on last.fm, but all the other artists that are recommended are just imitations of E.S. Posthumus. Their music isn't bad, but it also isn't very original or inspiring.

Finally, I have one more thing that I've been wondering about, but I'm not sure if anyone know anything about it. In their second album, they had a vocalist that sang in half of their songs. Does anyone know if she'll be back for the third album?

She was really good and I liked her versions of the songs, even though I liked the instrumental ones better. The singles that have been released so far don't feature her vocals so I was curious if they'd gotten rid of her. That would be sad. ;__;

One of my friends posted a Youtube sound file of their song "Pompeii" about a month ago, and I fell in love right away. I'm currently gathering money to buy their CD "Unearthed" from Amazon and to have it mailed to my house.
Real CDs > MP3 Download CD

The only music close to being similar to E.S. Posthumus that I listen to is the Orchestral CD from Nightwish's "Dark Passion Play" < w<

And I don't really know anything about their second album D:

I definitely agree with you about high quality music. I own tons of cds and I always rip my music to either 320 CBR or a lossless format for my ipod and/or computer. Anything less than that doesn't sound so good to me (I actually can hear the difference between V0 and 320 CBR). For music that is as epic as E.S. Posthumus, you definitely need the highest quality available. :3

And I really like Nightwish, but I never heard of their orchestral cd. Thanks for letting me know about it, I'll definitely check it out!

Finally, if you have the time and the money, I think you should also hunt down E.S. Posthumus's second album. It's a different style than Unearthed, but it's still excellent. You might want to download some sample tracks first though, as it's quite different from their other music.

The orchestra CD for DDP is on the collector's two-disk. It's all of the songs on DDP recorded by the orchestra they used, before they carried over Annette's singing.

I think there's an orchestra CD of "Ghost Love Score" and "Wish I Had An Angel". I've heard both of them without the singing.

I'll go for the second Album after I get "Unearthed" = w=

Annette? Is she the new vocalist for Nightwish? If so, that'll explain why I haven't heard their orchestral cd. I sort of boycotted Nightwish after they switched singers. xD;;

Yup. Annette Olzon, from Sweden, is their new singer.

Ehh. I decided not to be that way, and to give her 2 albums before I do anything drastic.
Besides, Dark Passion Play, the CD that Annette made her debut as Tarja's replacement, has been sold more than any other Nightwish CD.

Well, for me, I guess it wasn't so much of a boycott as I'm just not interested in Annette's vocals. They're a lot weaker than Tarja's and Nightwish's music doesn't seem quite as powerful to me anymore. Of course, I've only heard samples from Dark Passion Play, so I can't really comment about the album itself.

Maybe I should go ahead and download a copy to sample it and see if it's good. My refusal to listen to it is probably just me being ridiculously stubborn. xD;;

And I didn't know that the album sold so well. Now I'm actually a little bit interested and I'll probably go ahead and give it another chance. The cd might be at my library, so I can go check it out later today...
