It was a cool, silent night that night. The moon was almost full, and the forest was full of restless creatures. And a little blond girl that was up way past her bedtime.

"Don't worry," her smooth, mysterious voice echoed softly among the quiet forest.
"I'll still be here for a while." She pet the bone-like horse.

"Who's there?" A worried voice snuck up behind her. He was about ten feet away, his wand at the ready. But, he was either too tired or too stupid to light his path with it. "I have my wand and I'm not afraid to use it!" He shouted uneasily.

"Shhh, you'll scare the them away." She turned toward him. Of course. Malfoy.

At that moment, Malfoy swung his wand toward her and shouted, "Stupify!"

Light shot out of his wand and, luckily, missed her by a foot or two. She spun around, but the creatures were gone.

"Goodbye," she said to air.

"What? Lovegood? What are you doing out here?" Malfoy walked closer.

"Oh, just speaking to the Thestrals. They're quite nice, acctually." Her eyes looked up at the sky, as if seeing something that wasn't there.

"What? You're crazy, aren't you? You've been hanging around Potter's posse too long, haven't you?" Malfoy frowned and shook his head.

"They aren't as bad as you'd think, you know. Not that I'm all googely-eyed for Harry, like all of the other girls." She smirked.

It was completely unlike her. She always seemed distant and dream-like. But she just said something reletively rude. -Wow- Draco thought.

Draco looked at Luna. She had grown fast in the past year and a half. She had gained another two inches-or-so. Her long, moon-like hair had grown another inch-or-so also. She was becoming more curvy, Draco noticed. He chuckled to himself.

"What? Am I supposed to fall all over Harry?" she spoke quietly, smileing at the moon.

"No, I-I was just thinking," he continued to smile to himself. -She is so odd...- He thought.

"I know I am odd. Does it matter?" she said as if she had read his mind. He looked at her.

"Hmmm?" she mumbled, finally meeting his gaze.

"You're a lot different than I always thought you were."

"Maybe you shouldn't judge a book by its cover." She giggled then started humming.

"What's that?" He thought she was talking to him. But when he looked over at her, she was stumbling deeper into the forest. "Wait! What are you doing?" he shouted after her. She didn't answer.

Luna looked back to see Draco following her through the forest. She hummed a slow tune as they climbed over the tall trees' roots.

Then Luna dissapeared behind a tree. "Hey! Where are you?" Draco called after her. All was silent. She had quit humming.

He stumbled around in the forest until he turned around on this old, giant tree. Something wild jumped out at him and knocked him to his feet. It was ontop of him.

Draco kicked and thrashed, but the weight stayed on him. Then he was too exausted to move, so he quit trying to throw it off. He looked up into its eyes.

"Lovegood!" he breathed, releived. "What are you doing?"

But she said nothing and just layed on him, staring into his eyes. -This is more like her.- Draco thought.

"Um..." he cleared his throat. "Y-you can get off now."

She shook her head and closed her eyes, as if to fall asleep.

Draco sighed. "Lovegood!" He yelled at her. She ignored him. "Lovegood!" He repeated her name over and over, but she just layed there, her eyes closed. She was too strong to throw off.

"Luna!" he finally shouted, and her eyes popped open. Then, without warning, she kissed him. And he pulled her in closer.
