((If your name isn't in the title, please don't post))
It was another day in the city of London. Elyon woke up with a sleepy yawn and a stretch. His nephew was curled up beside him, making him smile. He'd let the boy sleep just a little longer. For the past year he had been known as William Ballard. There were letters addressed to that name sitting on the kitchen table. He hadn't opened them yet. He wasn't really sure if he would at all. Some of them were obviously bills, which he would have to take care of eventually. One of them was from a woman who had fallen for him during one of his outings.
Elyon tried not to go out too much. He didn't want to put his or Nathaniel's life in danger, but if he never left the house that would only make people more suspicious so he planned regular outings with his nephew. Today, marked on the calendar as always, was an outing day. They'd go grocery shopping and see if there were any signs of an accommodator. They'd spent over 6 months in London and had not had any success in finding an accommodator. Elyon was beginning to lose hope. He had a good idea where his chosen ones were, but it would be very difficult to get there.

Uriel, or Uri for short as many called him these days exhaled slowly. The male looked up at the sky seemingly disappointed. The world was dying, he knew it was. He felt it with every fiber of his being and he saw things. As a remote viewer he saw things other could not. Uri knew things about the world that others would never consider the truth. But, for having this ability he found himself hating himself at times.
His own family had alienated him for it. The boy would unconsciously see into the future. His family now viewed him as a bringer of death. However, he knew he wasn't a bringer of death, but rather a bearer of bad news for simply knowing who was going to die and how. He never knew an exact time but he'd foretold several relatives dying and each time it was truth. As if he himself had seen God or Satan and told them to take his relative away... quietly or loudly, yes, it was as if he had commanded it all. At least to them.
Today, he realized he needed to go shopping for food and various other things so he headed off in that direction while trying to decide what he'd buy in his head.

"Wake up Nathaniel," Elyon gently shook his nephew, "It's time to start a new day."
"It's outing day isn't it Uncle Will?" the sleepy six-year-old asked as he sat up.
"Yes it is," Elyon said, ruffling the boy's hair, "Dress appropriately."
Elyon pulled on khaki pants and a dress shirt. He combed his black hair and looked towards his nephew. Nathaniel was dressed in a t-shirt and jeans. He was holding his favorite teddy bear. He never went anywhere without it. It helped remind him that he had to behave like a child. A cherry lollipop was in his mouth. "I'm all set," he said.
Elyon smiled, ruffling his hair. "We'll grab breakfast on the way ok?"
Nathaniel nodded his head with a smile and the two left their apartment.

Uriel made his way to the local market, which thankfully was within walking distance because Uriel hated cars with a burning passion. He'd been in a number of car accidents as a child so the fact that he ever drove at all surprised him. It wasn't that he thought he was a bad driver, it was all those other idiots.
Regardless of the thought within twenty minutes he arrived at his destination. There was an upside to walking anywhere he could, he was fit and at least if he wasn't hungry before he arrived he would work up at least a small appetite by the time he returned to his house.
'Hmm... What do I want to get?' He really didn't know so he figured for the first time in awhile he'd... browse. Yes, that sounded like a good ideas. With that, he walked inside and began looking at various things.

Nathaniel and Elyon walked to their local store. It was only about two blocks away for them. Elyon held onto Nathaniel's hand like a good guardian would for a six-year-old child.
Nathaniel was good at what he did, but he was only six, which meant on occasion he did forget to keep his intelligence toned down. That's why he carried his teddy bear, to help remind him. He looked up at Elyon as they walked through the door. "Uncle Will," he said softly, "Are we going anywhere else today?"
"I thought we might take a walk through the park," Elyon said. "Maybe we'll find someone there," he added in a very hushed whisper.
"Oh, ok," the smaller boy said cheerfully, still holding his uncle's hand as they walked through the store. Elyon picked up a bag of assorted lollipops for his nephew, a tin of coffee, a bag of sugar and other various things that they always seemed to run out of. Elyon was used to late nights and so he drank a lot of caffeine.

Uriel happened to be in the same area as Elyon and in a moment of not paying attention he knocked into his nephew. "Oh, I'm so sorry." he said extending his hand to help the boy up. "I wasn't paying attention..." he murmured feeling a bit guilty. At least he hadn't knocked the boy into anything. "Are you all right?"
[Ack, sorry it's so short.]

Nathaniel looked up at the man with the expression of a frightened rabbit. He wasn't afraid though, he was merely studying him. He hugged his teddy bear to him and quickly hid behind his uncle's leg. Elyon looked up from what he was doing. He smiled. "It's alright, no harm done," he said, "He's just a little shy sometimes. You aren't hurt though are you Nathaniel?" The little boy shook his head, but stayed behind Elyon's leg, silently observing the man who had run into him.
((No biggie. I didn't really give you a whole lot to work with. So it's more my bad. ))

Uriel smiled, hoping to reassure the boy of his good nature. ""Well, I'm glad. I feel like a total idiot for just walking into someone like that."
It was true, Uri normally paid more attention than that. He wasn't even sure why he felt so distracted this day. Perhaps it had just been because he had had a vision again. Whenever he had them his mind tended to be preoccupied with thinking about it. The latest one, he couldn't even make out what it meant and it had been very brief.

"Don't worry about it. Like I said, no harm done. My name's William," Elyon introduced himself, "And this is my nephew Nathaniel."
For being locked up in his apartments most of his life Elyon was actually fairly good at socializing when he needed to be. Elyon was analyzing their new-found acquaintance the same as Nathaniel, discreetly, but thoroughly. Something about him was slightly... off. It made him want to delve a little deeper.

"Uriel." The man spoke extending his hand in greeting. Uriel didn't deal with people very often but he at least knew basic manners. Perhaps it was just those basic manners that had made him apologize. It wasn't like he felt particularly bad since he knew the boy was all right. "You... seem to like staring at me." he knew the statement seemed a little rude but he didn't care. He didn't deal much with people let alone their gawking eyes. He already knew he was different. Uriel didn't need people staring at him to tell him that. "Anyway..." he began just trying to avoid further conversation because it made him feel awkward. "I should be going now, things to do places to go, you know." Lies really, he was nearly done shopping and he had no where but home to go after that, but most people would leave him alone.

Elyon nodded his head. "Of course," he said with a smile, "But... may I ask you an odd question?" Elyon's body was somewhat tense. Nathaniel knew what his uncle was going to ask. Most people tended to look away at the question. No one knew very much but it was always an uncomfortable subject to talk about what happened to North America last year. The bomb that had struck New York had apparently devastated the entire Eastern half, so much so that the United States of America was no longer the "United" States of America, it was now Eastern US and Western US and Eastern US was supposedly uninhabitable. Most of the people touched by the chemicals in the bomb were into creatures now known as Rhagouls, which were zombie-like creatures that would prowl the cities looking for humans. Those who lived in Eastern US, even if they did not transform were not permitted to leave. Everyone was afraid they would transform.
Elyon looked at Uriel a smile still on his lips. He always tried to keep a friendly demeanor when dealing with other people. He waited to be allowed to ask his question.

"A... question?" Uriel asked confused by the man, who the heck would want to ask him a question? But then, could this guy tell he was... different? Was different the right word just because he saw things most people couldn't see? Or maybe most people just didn't want to see, he wasn't sure which of the two was true. "I... uh... I don't see why not." the man was still trying to figure the other one out, was this going to be a usual question? He had a feeling it wouldn't be. After all, why would there have been hesitation if it was usual? "You seem a little scared to ask, why?" he asked as he noted the male's body language despite the smile that he felt certain was simply painted on. Maybe, just maybe they had more in common than he thought at first glance.

Elyon blinked a little. "Not frightened, just hesitant. It isn't a topic most people like to talk about," he said, "I've had a few... painful responses." Elyon winced slighty at the memory. "But I'll ask it anyway," he continued, "What do you know about what happened to New York last year?" Elyon stared at Uriel with a very serious expression. Very few people new the truth. Three people outside those who actually launched the bomb knew what had happened and one of them was dead. The world was lead to believe that it was a nuclear bomb, but this wasn't true. In fact the Eastern US had never been cleaner. It had been Elyon's technology that had been stolen and used to create a weapon that no one could fully understand. That is why Elyon intended to fix it.

"I..." He seemed hesitant to say anything, after all he knew it wouldn't sound very normal to say he'd had visions of the place. But he had trouble lying about it when it was such a direct question. Sort of as if... the man had suspected he knew something? "I don't... per say..." Uriel spoke trying to find the best way to explain himself. "Perhaps it's easiest to say... I've had... Visions? I mean I..." he sought out the words to explain himself better, "I've always had visions, not of... the same thing but since the 'incident' they've been about there..." The boy felt weird discussing these things in such a public forum. "...Why are you asking anyway?" he was worried about the other man's intentions, were they poor? Was he seeking something one shouldn't?

Elyon smiled. "Would you like to come over for coffee and scones?" he asked, "I'd like to talk to you some more, if you don't mind." Elyon knew fully well that he infuriated most people he spoke to because he asked more questions than he gave answers.
Nathaniel tugged on Elyon's sleeve. "Does that mean we aren't going to the park Uncle Will?" he asked softly, giving him a pouty look. Elyon was as much a sucker for Nathaniel's adorable-ness as anyone but he sighed, ruffling his hair. "Maybe later," he said.

'Coffee and scones? What am I getting myself into?' Uriel laughed to himself at the idea. "I... suppose I could." As he spoke he forced a smile trying to mask the terror he had in the back of his mind about going to a stranger's home. He wasn't even sure why he was agreeing to see this man more. He was nothing more than a casual acquaintance in a store... 'No harm in talking to him, is there? No. There isn't.' Uriel tried desperately to convince himself. The man and his small nephew at the very least didn't seem dangerous.

Elyon smiled. "Excellent," he said, "I guess I should pick up some scones then." The dark-haired boy chuckled, "I can't bake for the life of me."
"Can we get raspberry scones?" Nathaniel asked, his voice squeaked slightly as he looked up at the two older men.
"Do you like raspberry?" Elyon asked Uriel, looking up at him.

"Anything is fine, as a guest I wouldn't want to impose..." he murmured trying to be as polite as he possibly could. He wasn't very good at it but he tried. That's all he could do. "Where do you live anyway? Is it far?" He hoped it wasn't, as much as he liked walking he disliked the idea of having to walk a long distance to a stanger's house. One could never be too careful. For all he knew the nephew was a ploy to make him trust William. But then, William didn't seem like a crazy killer or something like that so he figured it would be all right, but if it wasn't... then he'd be screwed for sure.

"We just live up the street two blocks," Nathaniel informed their guest with a big smile as he rushed to find the baked goods. "Don't get lost Nathaniel," Elyon warned the boy. He knew Nathaniel wouldn't get lost, but it was the parental thing to say. He turned to Uriel again. "I'd like to ask," he said, "Were you in the US when that bomb hit?"

"You're just full of uncomfortable questions, aren't you?" He asked as he watched the small boy run off. "You feel sure no ones gonna snatch him up?" he asked jokingly trying to ease his own nerves about the question. He didn't like to admit that he had been. But he didn't want to lie to the man, he'd said so much already. "I... was." he felt almost as though a large weight had been lifted off of his shoulders though it hadn't really. Uriel felt sure there would be more questions, there always were if he admitted such things. "You really like... or rather... seem interested in this topic. Why?" Uriel decided he might get a few answers of his own if he could. It was better than answering questions and getting nothing out of it.

Elyon smiled again. "I'm sorry that my questions are uncomfortable," he said, "I will explain myself in due time. I apologize for the lack of answers you are receiving." Elyon glanced up at Nathaniel, trying to pick out a box of scones. He chuckled softly. "Nathaniel is very bright for his age. But I can still see him so I'm sure he's safe." Elyon lifted his nephew up onto his shoulders. He was such a small boy he barely weighed him down at all. "Well, let's check out then shall we?" the pale man asked, "I promise I will give you more answers when we're in a safer location."

Uriel followed after the man vaguely disappointed by the lack of a real answer thus far but at least he had been promised answers soon. That was better than not at all. Though Uriel couldn't help but be intrigued by the small child that accompanied the man. He wasn't sure why, there was just something different about him compared to smaller children even if he couldn't put his finger on it. He'd figure out that child even if it took him a long time to do so, that he at the very least swore to himself.

Elyon checked out and waited for Uriel to do the same. When they were all ready he set off down the street towards their apartment. It wasn't a very far walk, maybe ten minutes at most. It was more of a flat really, above an old abandoned store that the owner rented out. Elyon set Nathaniel down and they walked up the stairs and opened the door. "It's not much, but it suits our needs," he said with a smile. Papers were scattered all over the place from last night's research Without being told to Nathaniel went about picking these things up and filing them away. "Would you like to take a seat?" Elyon asked their guest.
