Tragic, yet still alive. That is what's going on. Please, I need some help for this one! Add yourself in when able! (And no, he's not an angel. He's what I'd like to call a 'Xa'Thian'). Make yourself a friend or enemy, I'll manipulate the story for a good outcome. :vicky:
-Es
His dull golden eyes flickered open slowly, and a ragged breath entered his bruised lungs. Pain shot through him as he tried to breathe, making him attempt to curl up. This was the worst idea imaginable. An agonized cry rang about the clearing he was in as he forced himself to lay still. With his golden wings stretched out and staked to the ground, Marr was held helpless. He couldn't withdraw his wounded wings, and couldn't reach the crude wooden stakes that were jammed into his sensitive and delicate flesh. The Xa'Thian was held to the ground where his captors had nailed him, his body racked with gashes and old wounds. If he were to lay there much longer he would die of blood loss. Marr hoped that he WOULD die... anything to ease the pain that continually assaulted him. After all, there was no longer any hope. He had been taken from his home and tortured by the enemy - who now had him in the middle of their camp, which was far across the world from home. Marr's long golden hair was splayed out beneath him, most of it coated in dried blood. How long had he been there? Hours? Days?
His cracked lips and bruised, broken body told him it had been days. His captors hadn't fed him, given him water, or even allowed him to move from his outstretched position. His arms and legs were tied down, his wings staked - there was no greater torture than to demean someone like this. There was no purpose for this sort of evil. Marr closed his gold eyes, forcing himself to try and sleep - it was the only amount of comfort he still had.

Lilith walked with her hands and her head down, her face slightly covered by a sleek white hood that covered the pale skin she wore. She walked with caress and it was one with wisdom and patience. The guards scurried off ahead, every now and again stopping to let her catch up. The place so familiar yet she'd never set foot into the building, she walked on, feeling slightly chilled. Her predictions were correct, so far, and Lilith had yet to see through her own eyes the 'Xa'Thian that had appeared in her dream. Was she too late?
The guards kept pacing so quickly it unnerved her to no end, and yet Lilith continued at her pace, sending the guards mad with rage. "Hurry up old lady! We haven't got forever!"
Lilith, being just in her early twenties, had dressed older and hid her true clear and young features, making believe that she was to take their captive to the knackers, where they would slaughter him to death. Now, Lilith obviously was not planning to do such a thing, the contrary if you'd like to know, but she had to keep according to plan, she must seem mysterious, yet nasty.
As the guards yelled yet once more she snarled. "I'm coming, don't make me trip, I'm not young anymore!" she exclaims, her voice as clear as velvet, yet the guards as ignorant as can be.
Finally they led her to where they kept the captive. Looking through the cold hard metal bars that the door that had, also heavily secured with locks she did her best to remain the same and not any sign of surprise, or affection.
"May I go in?" she asks, and the guard first contemplates this before nodding and opening the foor with the many keys he had attached to the belt. She wondered how many more there were here that were severly injured. She must focuse on that later. Taking a deep breath, she walks in the stall, looking at the 'Xa'Thian. She kneels beside him, and puts her hand on his hand, immediately pulling away at the cold touch.
"I know you do not know me.." she whispers, "but I'm going to get you out of here."

A voice broke through his twisted conciousness - "I'm going to get you out of here."
Marr immediately shoved the flicker of hope he recieved into a far corner of his mind. He had been in this cell for days, no, weeks, and no one had shown him a bit of kindness. This was just something his mind was doing to keep him from dying. But that little burn of hope spread, and the Xa'Thian forced his heavy eyes open.
A grimace flashed across his dirty face as he took a deep breath. Seeing the pale cloak of the woman above him, he closed his eyes yet again. How could a woman save him from such a fate? Doubt and hope battled together as he focused on breathing regularly.

(( heheh, I found this one interesting [: ))
Lilith looked at the Xa'Thian open his eyes, how could this truly be possible? Were her dreams able to really show her and tell her things one could not predict any other way besides belief? She blinked twice before remembering her disguise. Hiding her face behind her fair hair and the hood of her cloak only helping, she quickly whispered, "Do not give up... stay with me."
Lilith heard some pacing from behind her, and she realized the guards were already becoming impatient. Once more glancing at the poor frail body, she sighed as she turned around and said, "Take him to the van."
The guards immediately burst in and took the man by the arms, and Lilith winced as she expected a cry of some sort to burst from his lips as the guards violently thrust his arms over their shoulders and trudged out the door. She followed closely behind, her head down.

The stakes were violently ripped from his wings, and he hissed in pain. He couldn't resist as the guards pulled him up and drug him along. Marr could barely comprehend what was going on as he was thrown into a dark space - a van, though he couldn't tell that at the time. His torn, ravaged wings struggled to return to a more normal position, but he gave up after causing himself more pain. He merely lay where he had been dropped, unable to move.

Lilith stiffled a cry under her breath as they threw him in the van, and still looking down, she nodded and stepped inside the van. "I will send the cheque tomorrow!" she says with a smile and she stamps on the pedal, the van speeding off. Lilith drives her way home and quickly parks the car, opening the van doors and taking a good look at the Xa'Thian. It didn't look good. "Shh.." she whispers, stroking the white feathers of one of his wings, that was stained with oil and dirty from the dirt of the floor.
"I need you to help me bring you to my house. I can bandage you there.." she says quietly. "You're out of there by the way, don't worry." Lilith says not too much after she had spoken beforehand, and she realizes she's talking a lot and too fast. This was most likely confusing to the Xa'Thian, he didn't even know her.
"I'll explain when you're bandaged." she says before tugging gently on his arm. "C'mon." she glances both left and right, hoping against hope that her neighbours won't come out and see whats in the van.

Marr grimaced as the doors slammed closed, sealing him in complete darkness. As the van drove away from the vicious prison, the winged creature crumpled as far into a corner as he could. Every time the vehicle went over a bump in the road he let out a small exclaimation of pain; every time he was jarred the Xa'Thian grimaced and yelped in pain. Marr endured until he felt the van roll to a stop.
The double doors opened, revealing the same woman he had seen in his cell. Watching her with pain-filled golden eyes, Marr listened to as she hushed him. Leaning forward, she stroked the once-white feathers near the top of his wings. Though most of the feathers were gold, there were patches of white here and there.
"I need you to help me bring you to my house," she said quietly, "I can bandage you there." When Marr watched her warily, she continued to explain. "You're out of there by the way - don't worry."
The Xa'Thian blinked slowly, weakly drawing his wings away from the woman. "I'll explain when you're bandaged." she said, gently pulling on his wounded arm. "C'mon," she urged, glancing around. Marr shifted as carefully as he could, attempting to support himself without leaning onto the woman. Unfortunately, he collapsed against her as he tried to stand, gasping in pain.
"I-I'm sorry," he rasped, his voice hoarse. The winged man shifted his dirty wings away from the stranger, trying to keep himself on his feet without using her as his only support. He failed drastically, grimacing in pain.

The cries that Lilith kept hearing every time they drove over a bump drove her insane, and as she stood outside trying to get him to stand, she found herself wincing, remembering the cries well enough to have to try and balance herself. As he tried to stand up, she managed to stay upright, only loosing her balance as he falls on her. Using the van to lean on for support, she shakes her head as he says his apologies, and carefully takes his hand and puts it over her shoulder. "Lean on me." she says gently, slowly letting go of the van and closing the doors.
"We must go quickly, I have a feeling people have something against you." she says, glancing at him before starting to move slowly to the front door of the apartment building. One step at a time, Lilith manages to hold his weight as she lets him lean on her, he was in pain, and she hated to have to force him to painfully walk to her house, but she felt as though she had no other option, she needed to get him bandaged. She wondered how long he'd stayed in that cell, cold, in pain. She shivered at the thought.

Arthril was sitting down at his desk doing the work that his professor had set him. Glancing out his window he sees his friend Lilith´s car pull into the street, and Lilith step out. Arthril grabed his coat, wanting to go and ask what time her lecture finished the next day. On the way to his door arthrill glancing out the window notices that Lilith seemed to be stumbling along carrying what looked like a 'Xa'Thian'. Thinking that he had imagined it Arthril rubed his eyes and looked up again hoping that he had imagined seeing the 'Xa'Thian', but no such luck. There hobling in the street, there it was. In a panich Arthril ran to his door and tearing it open he leaves his house and running down the staircase, taking them two at a time he reaches the bottom. Staring at the 'Xa'Thian' he panickly asks Arthril, "what is going on"?

Lilith suddenly looses her footing, hearing someone's familiar voice speak behind her. Tripping she manages to keep herself from falling, immediately helping the Xa'Thian stay upright. She blows some hair out of her face as her hood as fallen and her face is now shown completely, her dark auburn hair resting on her shoulders and down her chest, as though it was pouring down her head flowing wildly but beautifully. She wipes some hair away from her face, taking a deep breath as she realizes what is happening.
"Ah.." she says, racking her brains, "Well I was looking for something for the project in college, you know? And well.. I came across this Xa'Thian, unfortunately... he's wounded, so I'll most likely be painting a portrait of him and bandaging him up this afternoon." she says with a fake smile, letting out a breath of relief as she looks her neighbour over.
"You here for something?" she asks, with another one of those smiles, standing awkwardly with the Xa'Thian.

Arthril looked confusedly at Lilith for a moment, and then said "pardon, that makes no sense" pausing for a second Arthril then remembers the wounded 'Xa'Thian' barely standing up leening against Lilith. He then says huredley "never mind about that right now, that 'Xa'Thian' is hurt, here ill help you get him inside". Arthril then takes the other arm of the 'Xa'Thian' and starts helping it to remain upright.

Marr watched Lilith's neighbor approach them with an incredulous look plastered on his face. Of course he was staring like that. Xa'Thian's were supposed to live in the mountains, and were also supposed to be more of a legend. But no, they weren't legends. Everyone just thought that. The myth had been started generations ago, back when someone hiking in the rocky mountains had seen one of the winged race. Upon returning home, that explorer spread the word, and many people rushed to see if what he said was true - but to no avail. No one saw any Xa'Thian's, so they were discredited as false. Throughout the years sightings had left a lasting impression on the town, thus they had named the Xa'Thian's as their local legend. Marr had been a victim of that 'legendary lust'.
The winged man sucked in a shallow breath and stood up straighter, attempting yet again to lift most of his weight off of Lilith. By all means, Marr was a bit freaked out. Humans were unpredictable, and he certainly didn't want anything else to do with them. But his golden wings were too racked for him to even move them correctly. Or, more accurately, his entire body was a bit too messed up for him to do much of anything. He kept his golden eyes closed as a curtain of his waist-length blond hair fell about his dirty face. The creature kept his eyes shut as he concentrated on staying on his feet - the world was starting to spin. Marr's breath became ragged, and against all of his valiant efforts, more of his weight shifted to Lilith to bear.
When the stranger stepped forward to help the woman, Marr forced himself not to flinch away, but allowed the two people to carry him between them.

Lilith shifts on her feet nervously. Of course her excuse for having a Xa'Thian wasn't enough, besides the fact that this creature was only part of a myth, until now. When Arthril came to help her she smiled gratefully and said, "Alright, lets get to my apartment before there's a huge crowd clicking cameras."
Slowly she walks to the front door of the apartment, grateful for the help Arthril was giving, the weight was little, but it was tiring her easily.
After a couple of struggles up the stairs, she managed with the help of her neighbour to bring him to her floor.
"Hold on a minute." she says, and looks through her bag for her keys, taking them out and opening the door. Slamming the door open, Lilith slowly starts to take most of the weight of the Xa'Thian, bringing him to a couch to sit down.
"Alright, you two wait here, I'll go get first aid." she says, and disapears in another room, leaving the two men alone.

Marr nearly collapsed on teh couch, keeping his eyes on the floor. He didn't want to anger these people... he was at their mercy. The Xa'Thian shifted his position so he was leaning his shoulder against the arm of the couch, somewhat keeping himself upright. Marr didn't even try to speak. He would let things play out, considering he had no choice in the matter.

After Lilith opened the door, Arthil helped carry the 'Xa'Thian' over to the couch. When Lilith and Arthil got to the coach they helped the 'Xa'Thian' onto the couch and when Lilith went to get some bandages, Arthil started fealing very nervous. He then realised he was alone in a room with a creature which was only meant to be legend, who he knew nothing about. When the 'Xa'Thian' shifted his position, Arthil came out of his thoughts and knealing next to the creature asked, "are you okay? Where does it hurt"?

Meeting the human's gaze, Marr let uncertainty seep into his gold eyes. Did this man truly care? The Xa'Thian blinked slowly as he finished catching his breath, and decided to risk it. If these people were offering to help, he surly wasn't going to shove them away.
Marr turned his head to look at his mangled wings. The most delicate part of him, and they were crushed and bruised. There was still a gaping hole through each of the feathery wings where the stakes had been burried.
Though it wasn't the only area on him that radiated pain, Marr knew that his battered wings were the most crucial. If they weren't healed right, he would never be able to use them again.

Arthril stared as the 'Xa'Thian's eyes met his, in surprise Arthril reased that the 'Xa'Thian's eyes were gold. Arthril quickley hid his surprise as the 'Xa'Thian's head turned towards its wing. Arthril then noticed for the first time the full extent of the damage to the 'Xa'Thian's body. It was covered in cuts and bruises, however most of the damage lay in its wings, where there was a hole right through one of them. Arthril let out a stunned "oh my" and then continued to say "I dont know what where meant to do, your phisiology is so much different then ours and you seem pretty badley hurt". Arthril then asked the 'Xa'Thian' "is there something particular that we need to do so you can heal", then standing up and almost saying it to himself, "or do we just bandage you up". Looking back down at the 'Xa'Thian's Arthril notices how beutiful this creature, or human must have been before whoever did this to him. He then calmed himself down and squatting down and said to the 'Xa'Thian' " what can I do to help you"?

Marr smiled grimly. Casting a tortured gaze at his once-strong wings, he cleared his throat. "I need to get to the floor," he said in a ragged voice, "and I will need aid to extend my wings... in order to fix a few things."
Slowly turning his attention back to Arthril, Marr let his golden eyes flicker to the floor. "When I am finished I will need aid bandaging myself as well." The Xa'Thian stared at the ragged black pants that he was wearing, obviously not too comfortable around human-kind.

Lilith disapeared and went to the bathroom, opening a few cupboards and taking anything she thought would come in handy. She appeared in the room with her arms full with first aid kits and things that would be useful for the Xa'Thian. She smiled. "Someone help me?" she asks, her eyes focused on Anthril as she tries to carry all the things she's got in her arms on the couch next to the wounded creature.
Time for introductions, she thought. "Well, I'm Lilith and well... this is Anthril." she says with a smile. "I will surely tell you how I knew about you a little after you're feeling better and in less pain, is that alright?" she asks kindly.

"I will surely tell you how I knew about you a little after you're feeling better and in less pain, is that alright?"
Marr nodded, and introduced himself as well. "Marr," he whispered, "I am Marr."
The Xa'Thian waited for help before even trying to move off of the couch. They would need a bit more room if they were going to work on his wings.

Marr was grateful that both of the humans were friendly as they helped him into the middle of the room. The Xa'Thian was able to lay himself down while the others settled around him. As Arthril took one of his broken wings in hand, Marr grimaced and forced himself to stay still.
"This is going to be," the Xa'Thian hesitated, "difficult. Please bear through it, for it is crucial in order for me to heal correctly." Taking a few breaths, he continued. "I need you to stretch my wing as far up as you can." Doing so would help realign the joint that was tweaked. "Lilith," he glanced at the woman, "I need you to..." Again, he hesitated. "I need you to push the joint back into place." The man brushed his blond hair out of his face and carefully lifted an arm to point at the right spot. "There."
He mentally prepared for keeping his composure through the ordeal. Marr was the only one that knew what to do, and he had to be leading these human's through the steps necessary.

Arthril nodded as the Xa'Thian explained to him what to do. Once he understood that he had to help spread out the wings. Once Arthril understood that he took the Xa'Thian wings in hand and wincing with sympathetic pain he slowly took hold of its wings and started to move them spreading them out. While doing this Arthril said to the Xa'Thian "tell me to stop if it is hurting to much, or if I am doing something wrong". He then continued continued to slowly move them tentivly trying not to hurt the Xa'Thian until they looked to be as spread out as they would go. Arthril then looke up at Lilith and said "okay, now I think its ready for you to push the bone into place"

From where he was laying Marr grimaced as his wing was spread, gritting his teeth as Arthril did as he was told. Closing his eyes, he took a steadying breath, trying to stay still as pain racked him. It will be over soon, he thought. They're almost finished.
The Xa'Thian looked up to Lilith, meeting her gaze to let her know he was ready. He was as ready as he could be.

(( Sorry I wasn't able to post earlier! ))
Lilith nodded and watched one of her eyes half closed as she watched Arthril stretch the wing as far as it'll go, watching the pain reaction of Marr. When it was her turn, she slowly and carefully clasped the place where Marr had instructed and tentively tried to move the joint in place. The joint hardly moved at her small push, and she apologized quietly as she pushed harder, and this is when it moved slowly to its spot. Once it looked in place and right, she soothed the wing a little, and looked back at Marr.
"Is it ok? Are you alright?" she asks, still holding the wing carefully. Looking at him, he didn't seem the least bit clean, and deciding to do things differently, moved the first aid aside.
"You know what, you need to clean yourself up before you put the bandages on. Why don't you go take a shower?" she asks, before realizing something. "Wait.. you know what a shower is right?" she asks, her face scrunched up in confusion.
Edited.
