"Brother, are you really going to marry that girl?" A small child no older that 10asked her brother.

"I don't have much of a choice, father has already arranged it. I am going to meet her today, its out first time meeting face to face actually." The boy scrunched up his nose as he looked across the table at his younger sibling. "I hope she's not a bomb." He chuckled and sipped his tea.

"Bomb?" The girl lilac eyes where ones of confusion as she tried to figure out what her brother had meant. He simply rolled his eyes.

"Bomb! You know, ugly, hideous, she could break a mirror, or send small children running for there momma." He made a dramatic gesture at each one of his definitions. The little girl suppressed a giggle.

"You love a girl for her inside not her outside. Not that I am agreeing to this relationship. I don't think she is worthy of your hand anyway." She turned her head and made a sound of dissaproval.

"Ayane you seriously have a brother complex." He brother stated with a smirk on his face. " Besides you to small for me anyway, maybe if you were taller and your body matured a bit." He ruffled her snow white hair and got up to leave.

"I DO NOT HAVE A COMPLEX!" She yelled in fustration while her face resmbled a tomato. " And if you weren't so shallow my body size wouldn't matter. Besides everyone says I'm cute." But her cries fell on deaf ears. Her brother had already left. "Stupid Cho Kei."

-hours later-

Kei was somewhat pleased that his future was easy on the eyes. She had raven hair like him but his eyes were a bright purple while her's were amber. After bother families exchanged pleasentries and discussed facts about the wedding everyone were saying their goodbyes. But it was what came next that set the Cho's on fire.

"Congratulations by the way. You all must be very proud of Ayane-chan." Kei's future wife Naomi spoke. All eyes were on her with a look of confusion.

"What are you talking about?" The head if the Cho family asked with hs deep voice. Of course the man wasn't being hostile but his voice still made Naomi look down and fidget under his strong gaze.

" W-well Ayane-chan was accepted into the Soul Reaper Academy, she starts in a few weeks." She stuttered out and no one could be prepared for what happened next. Masanori Cho's tea cup broke under the share force of his palm. He suddenly stood up and excused himself. Kei knew all to well where he was heading and fearing for his sister's life he too got up and excused himself.

-w/ Ayane-

Ayane hair was dried and brushed by her servants as she got ready to go to bed. after she was tucked in and the lights were turned off she heard loud diliberate foot steps heading towards her room. 'Maybe if I play dead they won't bother me.'

"WAKE UP YOU LITTLE TART!" Her father screamed and he towered above her matress. 'Sh**' Ayane thought to herself as she remained absolutely still. If she moved she knew she would be subject to a beating even though she has no idea why. Ayane were pulled from her thoughts literally as her father yanked her up by her hair. "ANSWER ME!" Her father spat in her face. She was so absorbed n her thoughts thay she didn't even registure what he had said. She even get to question him on what he was yelling about she was already flying through the air only to be caught by her brother.

"What the hell ather? Is there a need to be this brutal. Her body is still weak from the last time you had a fit." Kei excaimed through gritted teeth.

"MOVE BOY! Is this how you treat the man who just gave you a wife. Beside THAT 'THING' has defied me for the last time. I suggest you move out of the way of my rath or so help me you will be caught in the cross fire." Kei grimmaced at his father's words. He looked down to see Ayane glare at the man across from them.

"Put me down." Her voice was so quiet that Kei was sure he wouldn't have heard it if his attention wasn't on her at the present time. With some reluctance he place her on the ground but he refuse to let go of her wrist in case they needed to make a run for it.

"Father can you please inform on what I have done in order to recieve your rage." Ayane stated in a soft and polite voice. Her brother had a feeling she was only being polite so she wouldn't evoke more unneeded anger from Masanori.

"Like you don't know. You went to that damned academy and took the test without my permission." He spoke in an eerily calm voice. But Ayane knew better than to think that the argument was over.

Instead of denying it she simply asked, "How did you know?"

"Naomi's family is involved with the academy so this afternoon she told us 'congratulations' at first we were confused but it wasn't until she explained that you were accepted that we he got pissed and stormed into your room." Ayane eyed grew the size of saucer as she realized that she would be a new student at the academy and a very young one at that. She had originally gone just to see f she had what it takes. She new fully well that she was to young to enter the academy, but now that she was a student she felt like doing cartwheels throughout her bedroom. Even though that was very unladylike.

"Too bad you won't get a chance to enter because I absolutely forbid it." Her father explained with a stubborn look on his face.

"I am afraid that will not be up to you father" She said his name in disgust." I will be their when the time comes and their is nothing you can do about it."

"Do you have a death wish?" Masanori asked as he took one step towards his children.

"Yah! do you?" Kei parroted as he began to back away towards the door.
Ayane ripped her arm from her brothers grasp.

"This is exactly why I want to become a soul reaper. I don't wish to cower in fear from out father. I want to become strong and overpower him. Show him what it feels like to be shaking in a corner covered in bruises."

"Your mother was a soul reaper and look where she is now. Buried due to a stupid job." The rather large man spoke as he narrowe he purple orbs at his naive daughter.

" Mother died because she was weak. If she was..." A slap was heard and it came from an unexpected hand. Kei looked down at his sister wiht his hand this poised in the air.

"Do not talk about our mother like that." His face was serious and cold. Ayane had never seen him like this and he had never laid his hands on her like that. But that didn't stop Ayane from finishing her sentence.

"If she was stronger the hollow wouldn't have gotten her and our family would still be the same." Ayane's head was down and her bangs covered her eyes. She looked and stared her remainng family members in their eyes. "I will become a soul reaper, stronger than mom, and you will not see me until I accomplish that goal." Ayane grabbed a few things and no one moved to stop her. They were to shocked to do anything. With one final look she nodded and left hoping that she was making the correct choice.
