I've always wondered why they like to turn alot of Manga into anime series?
Originally I started out as a vivid anime watcher, but then one of my friends suggested one day that Manga always had a better take on the story line and the illustration was much more detailed.
So I tried it out and ended up becoming a huge fan of Manga, more so than anime.
I still enjoy watching anime but always prefer the Manga verisons better.
I always just wondered if Manga is so more well liked (better take on the story and graphics), why bother spending the money to turn it into an animation as well?
Just one of those random questions that pop into your head one day. Just curious to see the take on Manga vs. Anime age old question.

The .Hack// Legend of the Twilight (Bracelet)
I prefer the anime.
I started watching it first, when it came on adultswim, but after it went of I looked for the manga, which was extremely short and disappointingly so.
I found that if I watched the anime first, I prefer the anime, and if I read the series first, I prefer the manga.
Like with Sailor Moon. I watched it, so I doubt I could read it.
And it's probably the same with Inuyasha.
On the other hand I read Kodocha first, and after hearing the voice actors...never again will I try to watch it.

i also think it matters from person to person. but i like both whatever i can get my hands on!
but as for why they turn it into anime i think it's just for profitable gain when anime comes out theres usually like quadruple the keychains, plushies and whatever other good they can think of.

The same reason they make books into movies. Even though most people say that the book is always better, they still make movies out of them.
As for me, it really depends on the series. Sometimes I like whatever I read/watched first best, like if I watch the anime first I like it better than the manga. However, there are some like Shugo Chara! (which ended horribly in my opinion) where the anime distorts the story so much that I like the manga better. There are also some, like Kimi ni Todoke, where I like both equally. But there isn't really any major difference between the anime and the manga version of Kimi ni Todoke.

Enh, I generally prefer manga for the practical reasons that the story is more compact and it's easier for me to get my hands on. I don't have unlimited access to high speed internet or a lot of money so it's pretty difficult for me to get to watch a lot of anime, so generally volumes of manga are easier to get.
However, sometimes I do prefer one medium over another. I like the Sailor Moon manga over the anime, but I prefer the actual video game Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time over the manga I've read of it.
