Bio: Malin is the only child of washerwoman Caloki Gray. She raised Malin by herself in a very lowly house in a small village. Never having much money Malin and his mother never really enjoyed life much and Malin never really had many friends. At the age of sixteen his mother passed away and he was left alone, still not legally an adult by law his immediate guardian ordered him to work down in the mines, digging for gold until he could earn his keep. Seven years on and there is still no sign of Malin's freedom.

Bio: Doodle was raised by the mines owner so his fate was always with the mines. He now works full time in the mines he is sometimes even obliged to sleep in the mines.

Malin woke up early when the alarm bells sounded throughout the airy shaft. There was a unanimous grown throughout as all the sleepy men stumbled from their beds. Ok, Beds was a little rich, they were ditched filed with hay with a pillow and a blacket threw on the top. Malin scrambled out of his nightshirt and went into his white shirt and blue dungarees, sitting down to pull on his sturdy work boots. He yawned as he stumbled over to the corner of the room to collect his work gear and his lunchpack and then paired up to venture off into the mines for the days digging.
Today Malin was with Doodle, someone whom he had never shadowed before and was quite excited to meet him.

Doodle was all ready and waiting for a certain Malin, the dwarf he was paired up with for tha day.
"Hiya im Doodle, you must be malin?!"

Malin nooded to the Dwarf that must be Doodle. He smiled.
"Yeah, I'm Malin. Your Doodle yes?" he said and extended his hand to shake Doodle's. Malin had heard of Doodle before, he apparently was raised by the mines owner. Did that make him a favourite, did it mean that he got better dig sites? Malin pondered this but then returned to earth to ask Doodle a question.
"Any idea where our dig site is?"

"yes im doodle." Doodle accepted Malin's hand shake and was looking forward to digging with his new friend.
"IM sorry, i usually get the worst sites and the most dangerous so you'll have to be more carefull, its situated on the west line."

Malin smiled and began to walk along towards the West Side with Doodle. His heart lightened a little to realise that there was no favouritisim going on between the owner and Doodle, no-one particularly liked the West Side because the rock there is very hard and very acidic so it can play havic with the tools.
"I am no good shakes at digging either, had a fair few accidents in my time so I think its safe to say that we can be bad together," Malin said happily, swinging his pick-axe over his shoulder.

"Lets just hope we dont get caught in a RockRumble, i got caught in a small one yesterday. there have been more and more. You know what to do when there is a rockrumble right?" Doodle informed Malin on the dangers. and hope he knew what the emergency procedures were.

Malin shuddered. He hadn't been in a Rock Rumble since his first week in the mines seven years ago. Him and his partner were trapped under a huge pile of rocks and he feared for his reescue. They were both fairly new and had no idea of the safety proceedures. The more they shouted for help the more fell onto them. Malin was sure that he wouldn't be saved but luckily after five hours the two of them were safely dug out. Rock Rumbles have been a huge thing since, Malin knew the safety code like the back of his hand, he is always keen to educate others too.
"Are you OK?" He asked Doodle worredly before saying his signature peice. "Yeah, keep right close the the walls, protect your head and keep as quiet as you can."

"Thats it. Ye im fine, it was a fairly small one so i was able to escape. i was paired with Lein who made it happen." Lein was the worst Dwarf to be paired with, he hated everything and everyone and made sure to never work and always mae you hurt.

Malin nodded. "Thats allright then, at least it was a small one. Lein, I have only worked with him twice before, the first time he hit me with his pickaxe and I was in the infirmary for a week, lucky he didn't blooming kill me, the second time he knocked me out of the cart. I know what you mean."
Lein was definately not one Malin's favourites.

"I just hope he wont be working on the west line today!" Doodle said, he really hoped Lein got a day off today, the forecast for RockRumbles were greater than ever and Doodle was sure Lein would take advantage of it. Lein was awful he would do everything to get the others in trouble and get hurt. He had a way of doing things that seemed to cause trouble for everyone.

the ground shook violently. "We;re gonna have to e ready to run any time now..." Doodle said.

Malin gulped as the ground shook. He struggled to keep his balance. He prayed that Lein was somewhere on the East Side, he didn't want to be trapped in a Rock Rumble. He nodded as Doodle spoke.
"Yeah. Not the best start to the morning but it can't be helped. You think the carts will be running since there is the high chance of Rumbles? I don't really want to walk down to the West Side, the pathways need clearing."

"Carts always run. although they may get stuck and never return." Doodle shivered at the thought of taking a cart, he had always preffered walking, but he was prepared to go in a cart for his new friend. He didnt like carts as loads went missing for days and returned empty or filled with corpses.

Malin nodded. "That's good. I feel that the carts are much safer than the paths, you always hear those horror stories about people falling down a shaft or getting rammed with a cart. It just makes me uneasy," he said with a shudder coming to a stop at the cart bay, waiting for the next one to arrive.
"Hopefully it won't be too long."

They waited quiet a while and when their cart arrived someone else came in with them... Lein... OH NO!
he smirked, "What ya doing here!" he said shoving Malin over.

Malin nearly fell when Doodle shoved him. He sighed when he saw Lein.
"Exactly, should you not be on the East Side somewhere?" he asked impatiently.

"NAh, i got moved to the West Line, FOREVER. You see i bribed his dad," he said pointing at (my carrie whom i momentarily forgot his name lol).

Malin blinked and looked to Doodle and then back at Lein.
"Why on earth would you want to go to the West? I mean this is the hardest side to make it in. Why are you really here Lein?"

Doodle wasnt sure what to think of this... Lein was going to hurt them today, as he always did. He wasnt looking forward to it at all.
"I am going to make your life living hell!" he laughed meanly and started scolding the driver for not getting them there fast enough.

Malin sighed and clambered into the cart, harshly pushing Lein out of his way to make room for himself and Doodle.
"Jeez. Budge up will ya?" he said angrily and then turned to the cart driver who was watching in wonder. "How far into the mines are we going?"
"Pretty deep."
Malin sighed.

Doodle wasnt looking forward to this AT ALL, to have Lein at the West Side was bad enough but to share a cart was worst! He kept shoving them around and scolding the driver.
ONce they arrived Doodle rushed out of the cart and dragged Malin with him to a closed in cave thing, "This is where we are, we are going to have to be careful, look." he said pointing at the pile of rock that had already come down.

Malin gulped when he saw the large pile of heavy, jagged rocks scattered about the floor of the cave. He set down his pack in the corner and put on his hard hat, not something he normally did, but today felt the need. He began to hack away at the rocks, shaking them every so often to see of there was any gold, this was a relativcely untouched part of the mine.

Doodle had already started filling a cart with gold, the gold was rich here but no one liked digging here as the rockrumbles were forecast for here. Doodle didnt understand why his dad had made him and another innocent young dwarf do this part.

Malin began to find pieces of gold and threw them into the cart as he checked them. Soon the cart was full and had gone back rumbling up the track. It was just Lein, Doodle and Malin now. He gulped.
