Her hand left the railing, her eyes still rapt on its' elegant carvings and
engravings that she herself had spent months on. The detailed
ivy and leaves, hidden mice and birds; all in a miniature
aspect. Eyes left the piece as she took the last step into the
main landing of the second floor. Both to the left and to the
right directed hall ways, decorated caringly with art work
by herself and others, seating here and there, tables, as well
as gorgeous mahogany doors she knew led to rooms
ornately furnished for patrons. At the end of each hall
beneath the wide glass bay windows sat window seats,
comfortably piled with pillows. She mentally added a note
to perhaps put in bookcases and to find time with a
good book herself near one.

She let her thoughts pass from either direction and
move on to the landing, also furnished with seating and
in fact a bookcase. Moving forward she once more ascended
another staircase, wrought iron and spiraling to the third
landing, a much smaller scale.

The room was in the shape of an octagon and was one of
her favorites. Every other wall was a huge window, shatter safe,
with large pillows sitting on the floor near it. On one wall was
a double set of doors leading out to the wrap around balcony that
encircled the room, open to the elements. The centre of the
room housed a homely fire, set into the floor with a grate over
the top. Bookshelves were littered with books, paper, ink, pens;
everything to accomodate any artist.

Content she found her way back to the main floor and couldn't
help but smile at the outcome of all her work. The main landing was
very spacious, open and high ceilinged. She stood at the main entrance
to get the best view. To her left was the bar, polished dark oak with
stools sitting welcome. In the back corner swinging doors led to the
lavish and well equipped kitchen. The place was littered with mirrors
and draping silks, rich browns and dark reds in colour. The right wing
of the landing dropped level a bit, steps descending in an octagonal
pattern into a only slightly lower area filled with lounge chairs, chaises,
love seats and tables. Surrounding this area were more tables and
the occasional wood pillar. A large fireplace adorned the far right wall
and was already lit, warming the large room. Lighting was comfortable,
muted by the silks and drapes and once more windows left the room open
to natural light from the elements outside. She could look upon the frosty landscape with
ease as she made her way to the polished bar, smiling
contently to herself.

From the outside, The Bards Tavern stood in welcome, lights
casting a sparkle upon the light layer of snow that lie upon the grass.
The sky was a delight to look at, wide and hovering over the field
and forest surrounding the tavern. The gardens behind glistened,
stone walkways and arches, benches and foot paths and frosted. The
lake was peaceful and clear to the bottom, fish dancing their night ballet.

The Bards Tavern was open for business.

The Bards Tavern is a commerce level roleplay. As such the plot is basically not in existence. This is a place for characters to gather, defiant of species and all the likes, and enjoy one anothers company and meet others. It is a roleplay though; not a place to sit and discuss other threads. -I'll be putting together an OOC lounge for that. :3-

Being an organized establishment, we must have those pesky life guiders we name rules.

1- Follow all Menewshan rules and codes of conduct.
2- I do not mind OOC posts, but don't clutter the thread with them. Occasional outside conversations are fine, but the OoC Thread is more for that purpose.
3- Be courteous of other patrons and be friendly. (Unless of course you happen to be roleplaying enemies bent on destruction of each other; in such a case, let us not try and destroy the place. x3)
4- Romance, gore, vulgarity; allotted but follow Menewsha rules. ;3
5- Any questions can be PMed to myself and i'll happily respond as swiftly as possible.
6- I will not be on as often as I like, so don't feel the need for me to be here to post and poke about.
7- There is no need for profiles -maybe eventually-. Just be descriptive in your posts.
8- Have fun and be creative. ^^

Sinead smiled happily and resisted the urge to spin in place her excitement bubbling constantly. She pushed back the auburn hair that fell o mid back and then rest her hand on a jean clad hip, gazing about with blue eyes on her handiwork. Or rather, their handiwork. She knew Ashton was at a large thanks for this. Too bad he couldn't be here for opening night...

Nonetheless, she did not let this fact dismay her and happily began polishing the already gleaming wood bar top.

A small figure, barely able to be distinguished as female, hesitantly opened the door the the tavern. She was a wanderer, a thinker, a singer, a poet. She was a bard and needed a place to stay for a bit. From what she could see, Annaleesia (Anna-lee-see-uh) believed she was alone. With a smile she pushed the door open just far enough for her slight, 5' tall, 100 pound body to enter.

Folding back her hood and letting the fabric pool around her shoulders, Annaleesia began to unwrap herself. She was always cold during this time of year and the only way to keep herself warm was dress in copius amounts of layers. Spotting the closest chair, a big, cozy one near the fireplace, she decided to 'camp' there. She draped her coat, her heavy shawl, her scarf, and her gloves on the back of the chair but left her long sleeved shirt. Without all the layers it was easy enough to see she was a woman, about 20. Her hair, white as the snow that lay on the ground outside was long and extended far past her rear when down. As it was, she had it pulled into a high, but loose, ponytail and had ties all down it leaving only about a foot completely loose at the end. Her dainty body was accented perfectly by the clothing she wore: a form fitting, long sleeve shirt, holes cut in the sleeves for her thumbs, hooded and high necked, and a long trailing skirt with strings of beaded fabric making sort of overskirt over it. The beads trailed behind her as she walked making a pleasant sound.

She stood in front of the fire holding her hands out towards it. She'd taken off all of her protective layers except for what appeared to be some sort of furred neckpiece. Any who got close enough would realize that the dark creature was actually living...

OoC; Perfect. :3

BiC;

Sin walked out from the kitchen where she had been making a simple late night snack, humming quietly to herself. She walked absently and unobservantly, already past her disappointment of hardly any interest show. It was still early in the birth of the TBT.

Then her eyes caught sight of the sole female who warmed herself near the fire. She couldn't help but grin. A patron!

"Can i get you anything miss?" she asked, her voice carrying across the room from near the bar.

Anna jumped, having been spooked by the host. She turned and stared across the room. Her eyes, a color so light blue that they almost appeared white, took in the girl at the bar. "I could use something warming... Something preferably to take the edge off the cold..." Her voice was high and quiet but still carried across the room. It was an odd trait of hers, even when whispering, if she wished she could make that whisper carry.

Following her words across the room, Anna left her clothes in the chair by the fire and headed toward the bar. She jumped into one of the stools, the beads on her skirt tinkling. These things weren't made for small people... She thought with a smile looking down at the bar and shaking her head once. "A shot of brandy would do nice... or whiskey... Something that will warm me up."

Cold. So cold, but at least being this cold helped to numb the pain. However, the coldness was about to end. He had stumbled along the snow covered path and found the Tavern..it's lights looking warm and inviting. Now his hand rested on the door and he hesitated. Inhaling deeply the bruised and battered youth pushed the door open.

Such warmth met him that he quickly stepped over the threshold and shut the door behind him. His arms going up as if to hug himself while he stood infront of the door for a few moments, long enough for his shivering to subside some. To some, his appearance may be odd or downright disgusting. At the moment, he didn't care. He moved towards the fire and dropped to his knees infront of it. Holding his hands out towards it.

The boy was wearing a dress..or rather..it was a maid's dress. He was barefoot and it was a wonder that he didn't have frost bite. He had sighed with relief, enjoying the warmth that flowed over him. Almost forgetting the pain again..but it was still there, pulsing at the back of his mind. His face stung and he was certain there was a dark purple bruise under his right eye.

There were bruises around his neck, as if someone with a strong grip had tried to strangle him, more finger print bruises were on his upper arms and his wrists. There were claw like cuts down his back, ripping the back of the dress a bit and even some on his arms and thighs. His ribs ached, but they were only bruised.

He frowned slightly as he lowered his hands and wrapped his arms around his mid section. He had yet to notice the other people in the Tavern.

Anna heard it the moment that the door was opened. She turned in her seat at the bar, leaving one arm from the elbow down resting on its hard surface. What she saw made her heart beat faster as a cold chill ran down her spine. What happened to that poor boy?! Her mind screamed. Turning her head slightly back toward the bar and the woman there she muttered something along the lines of "Nevermind, don't worry about it..." And jumped down.

The moment her feet touched the ground Anna gathered her skirt in one hand and lifted it high revealing legs much longer than her slight frame would suggest. Her other hand went to the head of the small creature around her shoulders. She set her long legs into motion and headed for the boy by the fire. When she reached him, not as quietly as she would have liked, she dropped to her knees. She had noticed all the injuries the second she had looked at him, so when she rested her hand on his arm, right below his shoulder, the touch was lighter than a butterfly's wing. "Are you alright?" She said quietly. Her musical voice wrapping around the youth.

From her shoulder, to dark, solid black eyes peered at the boy from behind a curtain of long fur. These eyes weren't like any other animal eyes though; behind them appeared to be almost human-like intelligence.

OoC; Greatest apologies guys, my internet shut down on me last night and just refused to re-connect. Usually, in this form of thread, each new day would be similar on rp time, creating a new day, but in this case we'll pass on that. :3

BiC;

Sinead gave the woman a welcoming smile and nodded kindly.

"Of course love. Welcome to The Bards Tavern, 've just the thing to 'elp." she said but then frowned, not necessarily at her, but at the boy who had just entered the premises. Her eyes examined his every inch, trying to accumulate a reason for his battery as she followed the woman to see to his attention.

alice was walking or should we say skipping along the already cleared area it had been cleared for travelers with many things to get along without leaving many trails and well she was having fun ruining it. she saw light and well wanted to see if she could play in their the little 8 year old skipped as fast as she could her little legs not leaving a trail as she went it was like she was walking above the snow. she reached the window and looked inside and saw what looked like afew people hovering over a man in a dress and that made her giggle "silly silly people mabye they want to play with me." she knocked on the glass and ducked wanting to see if she could get one or all of the people to play with her "come on outside." her voice sounded high pitched but down to earth like it had been their for many things.

He had jumped slightly when the small woman approached him. He wasn't skittish..no she had just startled him abit. His mind had been wrapped around other things. Her touch had been so light and she seemed very kind, one hand left his midsection to run through his short blue hair as he turned his head to look at her.

A bright smile on his lips when she asked him if he was alright. "Just a rough night, nothing really to bad, at least..not as bad as it could've been." He flushed a bit, looking down and tugging at the skirt a bit. It was embarrassing, being caught out in a public place dressed like that. These kinds of clothes were meant for the alleys and street corners...not well set up establishments. He frowned slightly.

"I'll leave, as soon as I've gotten a bit warmer." He said the words, as if to reassure her that he wouldn't be there long. As if he expected the tavern owner to kick him out or something along those lines. He blinked, his head tilting slightly as he thought he heard something from the outside. A voice or maybe it was his imagination.

"Dressed like that you will not." said Sinead, analyzing the boy as he stood there and crossing her arms. "We turn away no guest 'ere, and i'll be damned if I turn one away freezing as they are. Go take a seat by the fire love, my brother is about your size, I am sure I can find you some warmer clothes."

Sinead took another look at him, photocopying his stature to memory to better find clothes to suit him when she heard a childs cry. She blinked and just barely caught sight of her in the window.

"Come inside if you'd like love, much warmer in 'ere." she responded and then set off to the double stairs, bounding up them with strange speed.

He looked away from the small woman next to him so that he could look at the woman that apparently owned Tavern. He was a bit relieved that she had said she wouldn't make him leave, and he smiled warmly towards her. Next she said she would find some better clothing for him.

A hint of fear flashed in his eyes, he had no money to pay for such things. In his experiance, people didn't give things away for free, they always expected something. His lips parted slightly, to protest, but the woman had already bounded up the stairs. "...I..." His eyes fell back to the smaller woman next to him. "...I have nothing to give in return." He spoke the words so softly, barely a whisper.

"Nothing as bad as it could've been? You look as if you've fought an angry lioness!" Anna shook her head and stood. She dropped her skirt and stepped to the pile of clothes she'd left in the chair nearby. Coming back with her shawl in hand she unfolded it. It wasn't actually a shawl at all but a blanket folded to look like one.

She unfoloded and setteled it around the boys shoulders, very gently so as to not cause him pain, then sat down beside him. Stretching her feet out she pulled off her short, ankle high boots and tossed the back to her things. She pulled her skirt up to her knees and ,when finally settled like she wanted, she turned her head to look at him. "I think that it's time for an actual introduction." She laughed quietly and a smile lit up her face. "I am Annaleesia, shapeshifter and bard. I travel the world with nothing but what I can carry on my back and grace the world with songs and stories. And this," She pulled the fur from her shoulders. It instantly stretched out and fluffed its fur. "This is Queegle. My ferret." She laughed as the long black body puffed out and he sneezed. Queegle looked at her then trotted to the boy and sat in front of him.

Both Queegle and Anna were doing their best to cheer up the boy. He looked awful and seemed to think himself completely worthless else he would have been trying harder to be able to stay. She felt sad when she looked at him remembering the time she'd been nearly as bad off as him.

Alice was shocked that the woman said to come in so alice didnt even give it a second thought she bounced her way to the door and opened it and once she did all the cold bust into the building behind her into the room making it at least 10 degrees colder "Hello all." She closed the door but the room didnt seem to get any warmer for awhile but as for Alice herself she was just as warm as could be and was as happy looking down at the man on the floor she just looked at him then when the woman returned she asked in her nicest tone "Can i poke him with a stick please." She thought he was a dead body and always wanted to poke a dead body but her father never let her he said it was bad manners to the dead "I wont damage the body i swear just one good poke." she giggled and wiggled her toes that were showing in her sandles that she had on.

"What a queer name." Sin spoke with a laugh. Odd how like Anna, her voice carried as far as she would like. Already she had returned and was descending the last few steps. Nodding her appreciation to Anna's kindness.

"And you are absolutely correct, proper introductions are a must. I must apologize, i'm not usually so giddy, and well, ditzy. It was just an interesting day. I would be Sinead, one of the owners 'ere. The other is my brother Ashton."

She turned to the boy as she once more found herself in close parameters with them and handed him the clothing. The trousers were simple and black and the shirt was a white button down with long sleeves. There was also a t-shirt she had figured might layer well for warmth.

"It is not to the best of taste, but my brother apparently took most of his longings with 'im. And no worries on returning them. We can always just materialize something else; which I will definitely set to doing for you now that i 'ave a better idea of your sie."

She smiled once again, oddly happy for her usual self and then hurried over to the bar.

"Ah..well...Was more like a were-leopard, actually, he wasn't very angry, not really. Just a bit...excited, I'd say." He said that in response to her angry lioness comment with an almost mischevious smile on his lips. When she moved to get her shawl he watched her wondering if she'd gotten tired of him yet...but..she came back.

Reveal the shawl to be actually a blanket, his body tensed slightly as she drapped it over his shoulders, not from pain..though it was still there, but it was something he understood. Something he was used to really. Now, she was introducing herself, he nodded at her and at the ferret. It was a cute little creature. At some point during her introduction, his hands had moved up and gripped the blanket, pulling it tighter about his small frame.

"My name is Valen."

And now the other woman was back. Introducing herself as well..and a child had come in as well. He turned slightly to stare at the child, only for a moment. As Sinead was handing him clothing. Reluctantly he took the clothes from her. His brow furrowed slightly.

"But..I can't pay for this.."

"No worries. I don't think she'll charge." She laughed then leaned closer to whisper to him. "And if she does, make no mistake I'll cover it." She leaned away and looked into the fire. After a few seconds she turned and looked at the child. "Why would you want to poke him? He isn't dead!" She looked back into the fire for nearly a minute.

"Now, tell me about your... state. Angry were-leopard? That ... doesn't sound pleasant in the least." She shook her head and peered at him, something other than just pure curiousity coloring her tone.

Squeegle, staring at Valens face the whole time, tentatively put one paw on the boys leg. He waited for a reaction to see if he was allowed to come sit in his lap.

"She is right Kry. Besides, why would I charge for something that as a Damnphyre I have absolutely no need for?"

Once again she had returned, this time carrying a serving tray that she set on a table. It's contents held a few steaming mugs giving off a rich aroma, the warm milk chocolate scented with cinammon and various spices and laqured with a dash of irish whiskey.

"The Bards Tavern is a 'ome to everyone. And that excludes almost no one. Including yourself." she said with a smile and turned to the girl.

"Decided to join us? And I really do not think Mr.Kry would appreciate being poked with a stick what with being alive and all."

She grinned and watched Queegle. She had a fascination and love of animals and this one did indeed seem quite queer.

His eyes on the little girl that wanted to poke him. "People can sit on the floor without being dead..My my..aren't you a rude thing." He had scowled slightly at her before letting his attention drift back to the woman next to him.

"If I let you 'cover it' then I would have to pay you somehow." He frowned slightly, holding the clothing in his arms abit uncertainly. Well, he would go change in a moment or two. Right now he didn't feel as if he could stand up. When the ferret put a paw on his leg, he smiled down at it and offered it a finger to sniff. Watching it for a moment or two before looking at Annaleesia.

Now she was asking about his situation. He shrugged a bit and smiled. "Oh..it was very pleasant.." His eyebrows waggled a bit suggestively. "...At least..until he changed forms, but even that was okay for a bit..until I called him a big pussy cat. I really don't think he thought it was as funny as I did."

His eyes drifted to Sinead once again as the scent of chocolate floated towards him. As well as the scents of spices that were mixed in it. "My name's Valen." He spoke softly to Sinead.

"No you wouldn't. I wouldn't let you pay me a dime... or any other form of payment." She tacked on to the end. Somehow, she had the suspicion that money wasn't what he was talking about when he said he'd have to pay her.

When he told her about what had happened, very vaguely of course, Anna cocked her head to the side and raised one eyebrow. She rolled her pale eyes and then smiled down at Queegle. "He's asking if he can.. um... uh, talk to you." She said then looked back toward Valen with an odd look on her face. "If you say yes... well then, you'll be in for quite a treat." She shrugged then looked toward Sinead.

"Perfect! Just what I could use!" She grinned and stood up quickly. Grabbing one of the cups she took a big swig, burning her mouth slightly but savoring the taste all the same. "Excellent. You can barely taste the whiskey." Carrying her own cup and another one for Valen she sat down once again, her skirt beads clacking together. "Here ya go. This'll warm ya' up right nice. He gave the little girl a mischevious look and an odd smile on his face. "I can't die."

That was enough of that. He shook his head slightly that look in his eyes disappearing and his smile turning back to the bright, friendly one. The girl next to him, she was a smart one. She'd caught his meaning or at least part of it, he could tell..it was her words. '...or any other form of payment.' that gave it away. He was watching the ferret. He was tempted to say 'yes' but he shook his head slightly.

"Is it telepathic?" He took the offered hot chocolate from her when she handed it to him. Bringing it to his face and inhaling the scent deeply. "Mm. Smells wonderful." He blew into the cup a bit before taking a delicate sip. "Ah..tastes even better than it smells."

"Well make yourself at 'ome Valen."

Sinead too sat with the group, taking her own mug and choosing to sit upon a table, crossing her bare feet and legs beneath her and sipping the rich chocolat.

"Telepathy? Oh Shnorzt would 'ave a field day! I knew Ashton should 'ave been 'ere for opening night. Ah well. Maybe another time." Sinead said, cathing the conversation about Queegle. She merely arched a brow and hid a smile at Valen's explanation as to his appearance.

A shiver ran the length of her spine as the child spun. An elemental she would assume.

"As long as you don't do that again then yes you may. Let's try to keep the place warm for us who feel the cold."
