When ever I put up one of my stories, I always get "hate mail" from people. i even say no hating. That was about three years ago, but now I am thinking about putting up one of my new one I have been working on. My problem is, I don't want all the hate again, so I don't know if I should put it up or not. If anyone can help me, many thanks!

Its hard to help when you're not really listing the genre or topic of your writing. But even so, as a writer I think most of us who would like to pursue a professional career of creating stories will suffer the hate mail phenomenon. It happens to the best of us and, as always, the worst of us. But it may help to not look at it so much as "hate mail" and more like criticism. I had a problem for a while where I didn't take criticism well, 'specially considering a lot of it wasn't exactly constructive so I couldn't learn much from it. Still if this hate mail even has a slight hint to what you should maybe change about your writing, consider taking the hint and trying it out next time you write. It might get you a few more fans and improve your writing where it lacks.

I'm curious as well whether you're getting 'hate' mail or poorly handled critique. I propose this to you. Read some of my critiques to others on this forum. They're in the main section not in a sub-forum. If you don't find them to be hateful then I'd be glad to offer critique on your writings. Mind you that I've only offered critique for short stories here but my approach is much the same for poetry as well. If you find this offer to be palatable then just send me a PM or leave a message on my profile. I hope that either way you get the help you desire. :)

Thank two both of you! I have read over some of the mail I have and most of it was just me taking it the wrong way, but I think now I can take those critiques and make my stories even better. I know that every once in a blue moon, I will get those "it sucks" mails. But after talk to my friends and hearing what you guys have to say, I will put my stories out there, and if they like it, they like, if they don't they don't. I'll just be a duck, like my mom would always say to me. Again thanks for hearing me out and for your advice.

No problem at all. I look forward to seeing what you have to offer. :D
