Character Skeleton
Name:
Age: (plausible for high school)
Gender:
Bio: (optional, defines character better if added)
Personality:
Description: (picture optional)
Small details: (if using a picture, describe what you want that the picture does not, i.e. height or weight. optional)
----------
Name: Kihaku Yamaguchi
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Bio: Kihaku was born in Osaka, Japan and moved to Kyoto when he was 8. He is the only child in his family, although he firmly believes he did have a little sister at one time. He did indeed, but she was stillborn. Kihaku was always a rebel; If it upset his parents, he did it. It wasn't because he hated them or anything, it was just his way of getting back at them. His mother and father always argued, which tore at him because he hated seeing his father yell and his mother crying because their marriage was failing.
Kihaku blames himself for whatever happens to the family; Late on bills because they have to pay him into school, barely anything to eat for new clothes, or whatever. Which is why he usually uses the same backpack and clothes until they're ratty and do not meet school uniform standards. Yet he buries this down inside and tries to hide it with his rebellious nature.
He is not technologically updated like all the other kids at school. He still uses a walk-man and headphones that are three years old. He doesn't carry a cell-phone, but he gets by on what his parents can provide him.
Kihaku is convinced if he never existed, his parents would do fine. They'd always have something to eat, they would never be late on bills, and they could live the fine life, and maybe not even argue. He constantly tries to find ways out of his life that do not involve suicide, but it is a promising idea.
Personality: Kihaku is very quiet. He usually only speaks with friends, which are few because he is so shy. Many think he's emo, because of his pale skin and small frame due to malnutrition.
Small details: Kihaku stands at 5'8", and weighs around 110 lbs. He has scars along his arms and wrists from cutting himself, but he hides it with bandages and tells others he just has burns.
----------
Name: Keibatsu Hayashi
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Bio: Keibatsu was born alone in the wilderness, raised by a she-wolf mother. His original mother, his human mother, was a servant for a nobleman in the town that she worked. The nobleman had an affair with Keibatsu's mother, and got her pregnant the second time around. Fearing that his wife would find out that he had been sleeping with another woman, let alone impregnating her, he had her taken away by his guards and cast out of the village on her own, and with child.
Keibatsu's mother did what she could to survive on her own, scavenging for food and such until it was time. She found a clearing of poppies to lay in while she attempted to give birth. Being as young and as frail as she was, when she gave birth to Keibatsu, she gave her life and breathed it into him.
Crying all alone in the field, his wails attracted the she-wolf mother, and she pitied him. Gingerly, she picked him up and took him back to her den to raise him.
Keibatsu spent the next twelve years of his life, raised by the wolves around him. He was taught to act like a wolf, to stalk, to howl and he prospered. He was a good warrior for his adoptive family, as he proved his ingenuity at hunting time and time again.
When he was about fourteen, local hunters found him, cornered him, and captured him after a good hour or two of chasing. He was very elusive, and proved difficult for the men to capture. They brought him home in secrecy, and thus began the long difficult years of teaching him how to speak, and to learn of human things, and eventually they broke him of his trouble making.
However, the primal urge that had been instilled in him burned on, and he never forgot the ways of the wolf. He did not talk much, even though he had excellent command of the human language, and manners were not his thing.
It was easy to anger him if someone disrespected Keibatsu or questioned him of his birth origin. Those who did, were severely beaten. His second adoptive human parents recognized the call of the wild in the boy, and began to teach him how to hunt in their ways, which he quickly proved capable. It was no trouble, albeit his odd techniques which he adapted from his wolf brethren.
More years past, and the villagers slowly warmed up to Keibatsu, while he got distant and cold, and calculating. He grew his hair long, and clad himself in leather wrapped in wolf's fur, which brought him a little closer to his true home.
None matched his skill in combat, nor in hunting, as his adoptive parents had grown old and given him the title of chief hunter, even though there were others. Those others implored Keibatsu to teach them, but he could not. One must grow around the technique to understand them.
When Keibatsu was twenty, and he had spent a good deal of time with the humans, he left. Up and gone in the middle of the night. Some say he vanished into thin air. Others say he returned to his wolfish roots, and many say he just simply got up in the middle of the night and left, wandering down the road to wherever this call of the wild took him.
Six years have passed now, and Keibatsu is in the prime of his life. He wanders the countryside, hunting to keep himself fed. He has improved his skills beyond hand-to-hand combat with a knife, and now wields a sword he had commissioned in a city he passed through at one time.
Small details: Keibatsu's hair is black as the night, and his eyes are a cunning silver. He is decked out in leather armor, padded with wolf's fur and the overcoat he is always seen wearing, along with the gauntlets and boots ringed with fur. He wears a necklace tied to a lone wolf fang, hanging in plain view, to further remind him of his primal ancestry.
Personality: Cold, unnerving, calculating. Growing up with wolves who were silent and unaffectionate left him much the same way. He is like a wild animal still, ready to be truly broken, if one can hold his attention long enough.
Weapon(s): A single short-sword he wields for protection, commissioned in a city he passed through during his wandering days. His body is riddled with daggers hidden in every conceivable place, so he is never without something to stab his enemy with.

Name: Anton Kierkegaard
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Bio: Anton Kierkegaard was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. He comes from an eccentric family. His mother, an heiress of a wealthy family, was a professional ballerina until she got into a car accident, permanently damaging her legs. Unable to be a ballerina any more, her parents forced her to marry, and so she wedded to first man who showed any interest. Her husband was a mentally unstable philosophy major who had convinced himself he was the philosopher Soren Kirkegaard. Thus, when the two had their one and only child, he wrote down "Kirkegaard" on the birth certificate, despite that not being their legal last name. That was how Anton Kirkegaard was named.
While growing up, his parents spent more time fighting, his mother obsessed over her former days as a ballet star, and his father obsessed over long-dead philosophers. Anton was thus largely raised by his grandfather and grandmother, who stressed hard work and academic achievement, without showing much affection when Anton succeeded and met their expectations.
Although he was tutored until middle school, and went to a private all-boys middle school, he was so thoroughly sick of living among wealthy snobs that he begged his father to let him go to a public high school. His father, who always liked to anger his in-laws, gladly enrolled Anton in a public high school, which he has been attending for the past two and a half years. He is now a high school junior.
Personality: Anton is a very sarcastic teenager. He makes snide remarks often, and annoys his teachers, who unfortunately have difficulty punishing him, since he is technically an ideal student, as far as grades go. Anton is able to have a few superficial friendships, but he has always kept himself at a distance from those around him, never wanting to let anyone get to know him too well, due to various fears of abandonment and intimacy issues.
He loses his temper very quickly, and is passionate about what he loves. Unfortunately, he isn't exactly sure exactly what it is he loves -- it changes day-to-day. Somewhere in him, he'd like to be able to make close friendships, and live a fairly normal life, but even he isn't completely aware of that side of himself.
He tends to overanalyze people and situations, and even though it might not seem like it, he always puts a great deal of thought into everything he says. He is obsessed with pleasing people and being liked by everyone, even though he dislikes most people he meets. If they like him, he can feel "safe" and even superior, to an extent.
The truth of the matter is, he really, really hates himself and his family. He acts selfish as much as possible, because he's resigned himself to being a bad person. He figures, if he's going to be hated, he might as well get as much as he can out of it.
Small details: Anton is 5' 10". He weighs about 135 lbs, and would never be caught dead wearing the hat that he has in this picture.
Name: Masaru Nakao

How shall Kihaku and Anton meet, if in the primary world, or shall they both come into the secondary world through a different portal, but at the same location?

I was just thinking of that myself. I think the solution isn't too hard, though -- Anton hates his family, and wants to get as far away as possible. He's rich, so he's probably been tutored in plenty of languages. Probably, he could go to Osaka to do his schooling?

That could work. Anton could be a foreign exchange student. And it's Kyoto, by the way. ;p

Kyoto! ><; That's what I meant. When I think "exchange in Japan" I always think "Osaka" because of this exchange program I applied to. But, yeah. Kyoto.

Also, I'm thinking that we should spend a little while in the primary world before casting them to the secondary. Y'know, to get to know eachother first.

Definitely. They don't necessarily have to become friends right away, but it'll make more sense if they know each other at least kind of well.
Also, that'll give me some time to fill out Masaru's profile... (I made another male character, in the end.) Out of curiosity, do you know any good way of getting character pictures? ._. I never know where to look.

I found Kihaku's picture via photobucket, and I used deviantART to find Keibatsu's after I requested to use it. Otherwise, I'll draw it.

Hmm. I think I'll go draw up a quick picture of what I want Anton and Masaru to look like. I should be back in ~30 minutes. If you want to do an opening post in the mean time, feel free, or if you'd like me to start, I will as soon as I get back.
