I'm posting this nostalgic movie again for older users who remember it and younger users who have or yet have to discover this wonderful and adventurous tale. The story is about a young boy who lost his mother to a unknown sickness and lives alone with his father, but gets bullied around by bullies at the school. His life changes when he hides in an old bookstore from some bullies and discovers the book titled The Neverending story of which he borrows the book from the old store keeper and begins his epic tale with Attreyo, an indian boy who from a tribe who hunts the purple buffalo in order to stop the nothing that is destroying the world of Fantasia. Also many people don't hear the name that Bastian gives the child like empress and it is "Moon Child". This emotional tale has captured the hearts of tens of thousands and is still to this day a wonderful classic and if you have not seen it yet you definitely should!!

I also hear they are remaking this movie, I highly doubt it will be as good as the original and the original singer of the song which for the longest time I thought was a woman but is really a man. His name is Limahl ~ That is one of my favorite songs by the way. It has a very nostalgic feel to it if any of you know what I mean!!

Absolutely love this movie! Loved it as a kid, still love it now. Been trying to find it in stores so I can watch it again.

And they are remaking it?! Did you know they actually had Falcor, as a ride in Germany! They film you on him. And you get to take it home.

It says in one article I read because I could never understand what Bastian was saying in the storm, and it said Moonchild. I love this movie too! A lot!

@TheLupusFaerie ~ No, I can't say that I have read the book. I bet it probably is much better, and there are more than likely scenes that aren't in the movie which is always a treat to read a book once you have scene the movie. Yes, they are remaking it. Look it up on google. Really?! They had Falcor in Germany?! That would have been awesome, I wished I could have been there as a child and had myself riding Falcor, I would have cherished that picture until the day I die!!

The book is freaking amazing - I used to carry it around with me. <3 I went looking for the one from the movie and Steven Spielberg owns it - the little ca-ca. He needs to leave it to ME in his will!

I wonder if they actually sold books like that. You know they could have made a killing selling those kinds of books. There is just something mystifying about having a book that looks like that. I haven't read the book and am not sure if I will get to because I'm busy, but tell me a scene that was not in the movie that is in the book.

Did you ever see the Neverending Story 2 or 3? Lost of stuff from those they twisted from the book. I hope they twist back the last scene of the book into the movie - Bastian has to mine glasses of memory - but he only has one more of his own, and if he makes any wishes he'll lose that memory and his mind.

When I get the time I will definitely have to check those out. I have seen the sequels and they are not nearly as good as the first. Don't know why though...

The sequels suck quite honestly. But *eh* ~ I love the idea of it so I endure! *lol*

I know what you mean. I don't like the boy they chose to do Bastian in the second movie. I really wished they would have stuck with the series when they were filming it back then. I don't know if you heard but there was a Neverending Story series that I found on youtube, you should check it out. I was quite surprised as it wasn't that bad as I watched half of an episode.

Jonathan Brandis was the actor that played Bastian number two - but it wasn't his fault they made a crappy remake. *lol*

I would love an Auryn necklace myself!! I would drool for one hhahhha!! Yea, you are right, it isn't Jonathan Brandis' fault that they made a crappy remake of it. I still don't think Jonathan Brandis was the right choice for Bastian. They should have found someone who looked like the Bastian in the first Neverending Story movie. I'm going to watch the episodes when I get time. If you watch them before I do, tell me what your opinion of them is.

Loved the movie and there was a second one. Loved that too. Wish they would make another. I would go see it.

Yes I love the Neverending Story, I like the flying dragon (which I think looks like a dog!) It's adorable.

Not to be getting off topic, but what are you going to the hospital for? I hope I'm not prying too much.

I remember after the first time watching this movie I ran into my moms room and found one of her neclaces and put in on my head to be like the young queen. XD Also the Sphinx part scared me more than whatever the "nothing" was suppose to be.

I went into the hospital for chemo - I have lupus.

And I love the idea of running around with a necklace on my head! *lol*

Oh I LOVE this movie!! I always cried so hard when Artex died. But someday I'm gonna get a luck dragon! My man told me so...lol

I just watched this movie the other day for the first time <---fails at life
It was funny because one of my favorite bands, The birthday massacre, covered the song so whenever the movie started I was singing along to the song and I had never even seen the movie
