Note: Either the link to the current Guild Wars topic in the Directory is broken, or the topic doesn't exist. I'm too lazy to search for the thread if it's just the link that's faulty.
So I just started playing Guild Wars about a week ago...
I love the game, it's just lacking in actual community as far as partying goes. However, Ascalon City (the main campaign's main city) can get pretty fun, especially at this time of year with all of the snow and the NPC Goblins running around and stealing presents, etc., etc. ...
I own all three campaigns (Prophecies, Nightfall, Factions), as well as Eye of the North. I'm still a nooblet, just really experimenting with professions/builds at the moment. While there's a ton of information on builds and whatnot on the GW wiki and its partner "PvX" wiki (basically covering every type of character build, blah blah blah), I can't help but feel there's no direction for new members. Which kinda just sucks in my opinion.
Anyway, where was I?
Ah, yes. :) Does anyone play Guild Wars? Or perhaps you've tried out the trial version before? Or maybe a friend of yours plays it? Etc.
Just wondering, since I'm in a desperate need of friends in the game, and while a guild can keep loneliness at bay, it's sort of absurd to ask Ascended guildies to fight nub monsters with you.
Blah blah blah, let's get to discussing this already!

WHERE ARE MY FELLOW GUILD WARS PLAYERS!? :gonk:
Personal Update:
I started a new character named Asthen Dire. He's a level 5 Paragon/Warrior at the moment.
I'm pursuing this "Imbagon" Build I found. :o I saw it originally on PvX Wiki, but then I saw this huuuge article about it on Guild Wars Guru, and it pretty much inspired me to pursue it. :P
As this is my first official time playing Nightfall... I must say that I totally love it. SO much better than Factions, in my opinion! And of course, undoubtedly better than Prophecies.
I also joined this neat guild called Embers of the Flame. Their tag is [PHX], and their cape is so pretty. :o And shiny, too!
Full guild hall, blah blah blah boring, etc. ... I think it's a Kurzick alliance, too. I forget these things. ._.;

I used to play it a ton. @gamesnanimegrl8708: That's the reason I didn't like WoW. I played GW first. XD And I'd rather play the game that doesn't make me pay every month.
I don't play that much anymore. I just...can't. First, it started lagging on the computer my dad had no idea how to take care of. And then...it just kind of lost it's appeal. I still pop on every now and then, and I'm sure my interest will be renewed with Guild Wars 2. But for now, I'm content with just an every once in a while visit to my Guild and an occasional quest.
The community is probably lacking because the game itself is several years old. At least 5 years, I'd guess. I'm not 100% sure. But I know I started playing back in High School, probably about 9th grade. And now I'm 2 years into college. So a lot of people have beaten the games, moved on to other games, and gone about their lives. Everyone's just kind of waiting for GW2. You'll likely find a more active bunch in the higher level areas, though. If you're still just beginning, the community's a bit smaller. Once you get to level 20 and can go visit places like Lion's Arch and such, there are usually a ton of people. Especially on holidays when there's all sorts of free items being given out. =]

If you ask me, WoW sucks serious ass. Like, no offence to all those WoW addicts out there, but I really hate the game. I like Guild Wars so much better (even though I havn't played it in like 4 months) I've been playing since...around 2006, and I totally fell in love with it. I had to buy a new game of it though, because the computer I had it on crashed. AGH and I had to start over on all my traits and everything. All the EXP was gone...a total depressing moment to me. >_>
But anyways I love it <3

I'm sorry if this is going to upset you...but you should still be able to use your old account. The data is an online account. And if the computer crashes and erases the game, you can download it off the site.

I play, but I just wish it wasn't pretty much dead now.
Way to go and mess it all up A-Net. Gg. :(
