It seemed to be a nice sunny day as Kana walked through the forest. Every now and then the slight breeze blew her red-brown hair around, usually making it go back along the length of her black wings. Today she was more relaxed than usual having not encountered any greedy hunters for a few weeks now, maybe longer.
(wasn't too sure exactly how to start it >.>)

Dezik was taking another one of his rather vociferous morning naps, beneath the shade of a large tree. Being a vampire, the one thing he despised more than anything was the sunlight that was typical of night. And of course, since all supernaturals were exiled, there were no buildings to hide in. The best thing was this forest, and even some of the trees still allowed some spots of sun to peek through..
But this tree was different, it was bent over at a ninety degree angle, from a severe windstorm that had ravaged the forest a few years ago. Dezik rarely left that spot during the day, because it offered the best shade in the forest. But it also attracted many worried people, thinking that the tree was about to hit him on the head.
As long as they don't bother me today.. he thought groggily.

Kana kept walking through the forest, and eventually saw someone under a tree. She could sense that he wasn't human, so she figured that she could just keep on walking past. After all, most of the exiled liked to keep to themselves, and Kana was no exception. She preferred to do things on her own. After all.... she thought while walking away from the man, I've avoided hunters for years and they still haven't become smart enough to catch me. Pretty soon she was out of the vampire's site.

As she passed, he opened one eye and watched her. As soon as she was out of sight he leapt up and started to creep after her. A girl that beautiful was certainly worth the stinging bite of sunlight.
Dezik had always been a natural flirt, often making girls avoid him, especially since the classic line "I don't bite" didn't apply to him. He continued to follow silently amongst the trees, sticking far away and to the shade. He had a feeling she knew he was there, but he didn't truly care much at that point, he was just there to flirt with a hot chick. And probably get slapped. Or beaten. or..
Dammit, why did I come again? he thought, mentally rolling his eyes.

Kana was a bit annoyed at her follower. She choose to ignore that he was there, but by doing so, she didn't notice anyone else that was following her, until it was almost too late. Her eyes suddenly snapped to a tree only a couple yards in front of her, the tree burst into flame only a second later. A hunter came running from behind the tree, he had dealt with her before. She knew that there was more of them but they would surely be moving now, making it so she couldn't target them with her eyes. Kana decided that her best decision was to run as fast as she could, and choose to run past the burning tree. Normally I sense them soon enough...I let my guard down! Her eyes were constantly scanning the area, spotting a net coming at her. She stared right at it, but it didn't burst into flame like usual. The hunters had found a way to create a fire proof net, that Kana was now trapped in. There was about five hunters now coming out of hiding.

Dezik's eyes opened wide in surprise, then glinted red in anger. Damn hunters.. I'll show them a thing or too. Dezik sprang to the rescue, catching one of the hunters off guard, where he bit into his neck and drained the hunter completely empty of blood. The other hunters tried to shoot with guns loaded with silver bullets (the common practise) but only succeeded in hitting their fellow hunter, who was being used as a bullet shield.
He jumped up and took out another with a rough kick directly to the head, possibly having snapped his neck, which he did to the 3rd hunter.
The fourth, frightened for his life and only being a fairly young kid, decided to run off, with the final hunter persisted in the fight.
Being good with his gun, the fifth one actually managed to hit Dezik in the shoulder with one of his bullets, but the pain didn't last long, because as soon as the hunter started to close in to see what damage he had done (because they're just idiots like that.) Dezik bit and drained his life away, pretty much nullifying the pain Dezik felt.
"Mm.. Two healthy, hearty meals." Dezik chuckled, ignoring the bullet wound as he awkwardly tried to undo the woman from the net.

Kana watched as the vampire took down hunter by hunter, but letting one go. She had been trying to left up the net, but only those with more than human strength could get it off. Once the vampire had come over however, she found herself having to move her wings certain ways before she was free of the net. It wasn't long before she got to her feet. Kana turned to look at the one that had saved her, though she still believed that he was slightly the cause of her almost demise, in her eyes at least. Her wings expanded to their full length for a bit before going back to being folded in on her back. "Thanks." was all she said before turning around and planning to just walk away from the person that had saved her, not even caring about his bullet wound and if he was okay.

"Very well then. Oh, and by the way," he paused, unsheathing the blade strapped to his waist and whipping it into the trees, a satisfactory squelching noise following shortly after. "Stupid kid thought he was going to be clever, eh?" Dezik said, shaking his head and going to retrieve his blade. Once he did so, he decided to head the other direction, back to his tree. He knew full well that she would be back, very few of the supernaturals left the forest. Unless of course they were more humanoid than others, she might have been able to get away with it.
Within a few minutes he reached his tree, a bit miffed that he had saved her life and she didn't care one bit. Hell with that one, then. he thought, leaning back against the cool bark to relax.

Kana had watched him kill the final hunter. She was happy that he had done so, because then they wouldn't come back in like five years wanting revenge for the death of their loved ones and she wouldn't have to go prevent them from doing so herself. She then walked off in the direction away from where she had first seen the male vampire. Kana couldn't say that she wasn't impressed by the vampire's skills. After awhile of walking, slowly she was thinking more and more about how she should have been more grateful to the person that saved her, even if he had been the cause. She didn't turn back though because it would soon be dark, and for an angel, the night wasn't one to be traveling around in. Carefully, she flew up into a tree and used the darkness of her wings to blend in for the night.

Dezik proceeded to sleep throughout the night, something vampires didn't normally do, but he was so full from draining the two humans that it was entirely unnecessary to go find some animals to drain. He smiled to himself as he drifted off to sleep, but found later on that he couldn't. There was one thing in the way..
"Damn.. I forgot about the bullet wound.." he said, clutching his shoulder. The euphoric feeling after draining blood was now gone, and the true pain from the silver bullet had begun to manifest itself. But there wasn't anyone around to fix it.. I've no choice.. I have to find something to drain as a painkiller.. he told himself, standing up and shuffling about through the night, every once in a while grimacing in pain.

Kana sat there in the tree for awhile listening to every sound she could possibly hear. It never hurt to be cautious after all, and the first seemed to be calm for miles. She then carefully made sure she was comfortable, while still blending in, and then closed her eyes to sleep. For awhile she drifted in and out of sleep like usual, never fully being able to rest out of fear of being caught off guard or captured by a hunter while in a deep sleep. She had heard many stories about those that sleep too deeply.
It was the sound of someone grimacing that had her alertly awake again. She mostly stayed still, but moved her wings so she could look below and around her a bit to see if anyone was there.

Dezik collapsed onto the forest floor, the silver seeming to have drained his energy.. "I need to get this bullet.. out of me.." he complained, digging at his shoulder, only succeeding in scratching up his skin in a very painful fashion.
He continued to scratch hopelessly, only growing weaker and weaker in his efforts. He closed his eyes and felt consciousness starting to fade away..

Kana looked over in the direction that she had heard someone fall to the ground. The figure was too far away for her eyes to accurately see the person in detail. She didn't know if it was another sup like her, or if it was a wounded hunter. I should still check it out, she thought as she noticed it was scratching or maybe clawing at it's shoulder. Her mind than flashed a picture of the vampire that she had met that day. That's probably him...if he was really dumb enough not to get the bullet out sooner.
Kana got down from the tree carefully, and then looked around. She slowly started to approach the person who she thought was the vampire. Once she was just out of arms length of the figure, she looked down and could see that it was indeed the vampire that had saved her. "Hello?" Her voice was questioning, she was wondering if he was still awake. She imagined that removing a bullet from an awake vampire wouldn't be a bright idea.

Dezik didn't respond, the anguish having caused him to pass out. He just laid there with a stressed, sleeping look on his face. His hand was still over the bullet wound, as though he was still trying to remove it from his body.
(crap.. not a whole lot to say.)

(lol it's fine^^ There's always times when a longer post just can't be made^^)
She frowned some to see him stressed from this. It was good that he was asleep though. Carefully she moved the vampire's hand away from the wound. She noticed it was badly scratched up from him trying to get the bullet out, though this would only make it harder for her to get it out. There was no clear circle of where the bullet had entered anymore. I wonder what the hell he was thinking really...not getting it removed sooner when I'm sure he was stronger from feeding. She shook her head some before putting two fingers into the wound, hoping it to be the original bullet entrance wound. After a bit, she could feel the bullet and carefully snagged it with her two fingers. She was glad that she had practice holding onto metal things that had been made slippery with blood. Within another few seconds, the bullet was removed.

Dezik felt the bullet being removed, and opened his eyes. as he felt is strength flowing back into him. "Mmm.. What..? What's going on..?" he muttered, sitting up and looking at her.
"What're you doing here? Wait.. you removed the bullet?" he asked, noticing the bullet in her fingers. "well.. thank you, then.." he looked away, smiling a little bit.

Kana noticed that he was waking up. She got to her feet and moved away a bit, always wary of being close to any vampire. "It was the least I could do." Was all she could think of to reply back to him. She tossed the bullet into the bushes and looked at her blood covered hand. Her face turned into disgusted look as she looked around for something useful to wipe the blood off on, though in the dark she could never see anything too far away.

"Here." Dezik said, using his cloak to clean her hand of blood. Somehow he had mysteriously gotten up in a matter of 5 seconds. "How's that? better?" he said with a smile, displaying his fangs for her to see.
"My name is Dezik. yours?" he said with a gentlemanly bow.

Kana backed up some and tried to smile, though she was becoming more uncomfortable around the vampire. "Thanks" was all she said while looking at her now clean hand. At least it's clean. She thought while looking at the vampire, whom had now introduced himself as Dezik. She wasn't too amazed at the fact that he was up already, vampires tended to heal quickly and seem un-phased by anything. She looked to the ground a bit, "it's Kana." she said before turning to walk away, hoping that being slightly cold to Dezik again would make more distance between them.

Kana sighed and shook her head. Vampires were definitely more pests than monsters. Once you were nice to one, it seemed like they would never leave you alone, especially the male ones. "I don't like vampires." She decided to be straight forward and as truthful as possible with him, still hoping that he would go away. It seemed that she had completely ignored the fact that her name had been positively commented on.

He sighed. "Very well then. But when the hunters kill you don't come crying to me. I'll be the one licking up your blood the next day." he scoffed, beginning to walk back to his shaded tree.
Hates vampires.. feh! Who doesn't? he thought angrily, taking a seat underneath his tree. Should've just left her in that net.

Kana now looked totally peeved. She jumped up into a tree and went back into hiding for the rest of the night. She couldn't get to sleep though because her mind was racing with thoughts. Vampires are always so selfy absorbed. They'll always flirt with you, follow you around, and try to guilt trip you into hanging around them. The words practically rang in her head, the voice was of her mother though. Kana's mind then drifted to the day she actually first encountered a vampire. She had been younger then, so of course she didn't believe the last thing that her mother had told her. They'd drink your blood in an instant if you are too kind to them. They're predators, not friends. Kana sighed some more. She had every reason to dislike vampires from just that first encounter. After all, it had left her practically motionless for a week, and the pain of it lasting longer. She was only thankful that she wasn't able to be turned.
