Okay. So where in the world have you been and/or where do you WANT to travel? :)
With me, I've never been out of the United States, but I've been to Florida, (states on the way to Florida) New York City, (states on the way to NYC) and I go to Penn a lot to visit my grandparents. I'm always stuck here in Ohio. :P But I can't complain. Can I? Lol.

I have been to Florida a few times as well. I have not been to New York, how is it? I would like to see it someday I think. I have been to many states in the U.S., Canada only once, England (just London), and France. I've been to Paris, but I liked going to northern parts of France a lot more. Lots of cool little towns and pretty countryside. I hope to someday see some more west coast U.S. states, Egypt, Australia, and Japan someday.

I've been to Florida to go to Disney World but that's the only place i've really traveled.
I'd like to go to Australia and Japan. Australia because i've heard so much about it, and it's supposed to be an amazing place to live. As for Japan, i've been fascinated with the Japanese culture for a long time.

I am from Ohio, but I have been to:Pennsylvania, New York, Florida, St. Thomas and St. Johns, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Michigan, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Utah, Nevada, Texas, Kentucky, and West Virginia. America is a really cool place, and I have enjoyed all the time I have spent in different parts of it. I have also been to Canada, London, England and Mexico. Most places I have gone I would love to return to.

I've been all over the U.S. XD Military Family... yay? I've lived in Massachusetts, Ohio, California, Texas, Alabama and Virginia...and have visited Colorado, Maryland, D.C., North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Maine, New York, Pennsylvania....and I think that's it. I would LOVE to go visit Arizona, Hawaii, and a few other states.. XD
As for out of the country, I've been to Canada, Germany, Austria, Bahamas, and..a border town of Mexico, but still technically Mexico.... haha. I'd love to get out and travel everywhere, though. I don't speak Spanish, but I would like to see a little of what the rest of Mexico is like and I've heard that Spain is great. I really want to go to Australia and Japan as well. And...England, Scotland, Ireland, Iceland, Hungary, Korea, and...really....everywhere. I love the idea of traveling everywhere. And basically, I want to travel anywhere that has a language I'd like to learn and a culture I'd love to learn about (again, literally everywhere..)
I used to get so mad at my dad for never taking me on any of his trips to Belgium. I was already mad enough at him for never letting us live overseas. It's so frustrating when you're the only military kid you know that actually started school in the U.S. and never spent 1-5 years in some far off country (I have a friend that was born in South Korea, a friend that started school in Germany, and a friend that spent several years in Finland). Military's not for me, but I'm totally gonna find a way to travel everywhere. mwahaha

I live in the U.S., and wish I could travel more! <3 I've only lived in Ohio and Nevada, and I've been to about nine other states. Not counting ones I just passed through or only visited as a child and don't remember.
As far as other countries go, I went to Spain last summer. We spent most of the trip in Barcelona and Madrid, but made day trips to Toledo and Segovia, both of which were just breathtaking. I loved Madrid, even though crossing the streets was mentally scarring each and every time. Barcelona was neat, but not somewhere I think I could spend longer than a few days at a time. A little too metropolitan, modern, and busy for me. Madrid was great, more imperial and stately, but Segovia and Toledo hold my heart. <3 I'd love to study abroad in one of the three for a semester in college!
I've only spent a few hours in Puerto Rico and St. Thomas, but I soaked in as much of the culture as I could! Tried to spend more time roaming the streets instead of tourist traps. :)
As for where I want to go... EVERYWHERE. I plan to major in international affairs in college, specifically so I do have an opportunity to travel as part of my career. I want to study abroad in Spain, Poland, Russia, somewhere in the UK, Ghana, Austria, Egypt... so many places, it'll be so hard to decide. I wish I had the kind of money to study abroad for a semester every year! I plan to go to Kabul after I graduate college, and Mumbai shortly after. Not sure where I'll go from there.
As for more short term plans... Next spring, I hope to go to South Africa and do some volunteer work there. <3 My mom went this spring, and told me I can do it next year if I come up with the money. In the meantime, I'm looking for opportunities to go do volunteer work here in the States or in Haiti....Or elsewhere, so long as I can afford it! :gonk:

THAT SOUNDS SO EXCITING! If I weren't going into Art/Animation, I'd be going into Linguistics or Foreign Affairs. 'Cause the only other thing I'm that passionate about besides art is languages. Thing is, I didn't really want a job that dealt too greatly with politics. I'm really not a business person. XD But I love going into Animation, 'cause I'll be able to do anything. So much goes into it that I'd have plenty excuse to go off learning some more. bwahahahaha
I'm going to find a way to fund travels, though. Totally. rawr...

I live in Canada and I think it's a little funny that I've never been to the United States. I have been to Germany twice and Italy though. The big excitement is that I'm traveling to Europe next year for three months. I'm starting in London then going to Scotland for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival then working my way to Belgium, then slowly traveling toward Greece and Turkey.
And there is nowhere that I want to go more than Greece and Turkey. =)

I don't know if I want a really political job, either. I've thought about being a dipomat or working for the U.N., but the thing I really want to do is be an interpreter for (and maybe one day start) some sort of global aid organization. Or even just any charitable organizations I find in whatever part of the world I'm in. I'd love to be able to have a job that allowed me to move around a lot. I really want to not live in anyone one country for more than six months to a year up until I'm thirty, at least.
Animation, cool! I'm considering a minor in animation, if any school would actually let me do that with an international relations major. What sort of career are you looking at with that?
And, ah, getting back on thread topic (sorry I'm derailing you with my questions!), I've heard travel isn't as horridly expensive as its made out to be. Sure, flights are costly, but what I've been told is that if you avoid tourist traps, don't insist on nice hotels, and try to live like a local as best you can, it's suprisingly inexpensive. I mean, it's not cheap per se, but it's much less expensive. ...Or so I've been told.

Oh my gosh, that's amazing! That will be a GREAT expirience to have. When next year are you going? And what is your particular interest in Turkey and Greece, just out of curiousity? Family there, ancestors from there, just think they're cool places...?

I have been to Hawaii, and that's pretty much it. Hawaii was a very lucky one time occurrence, and now I'm itching for more travel time. I would like to go to San Francisco, New Zealand and India. India mostly for the food. All the travel shows make it all look soo good. :D

I go to Puerto Rico for at least a month every two years or so because the vast majority of my family still lives there.
I'd like to go to Italy and Greece someday but I can't promise I'd ever come back if I did.

Oh I also have plans to take my cousin to Comic Con as PR doesn't have many cons.

Mmm I'd love to live like a total Nomad. I mean...it'd be nice to have a sort of Base or whatever that I can always return to, but I'd really like to go out and see more. Once I get bored, I can return and chill in a familiar spot. haha
And I'm going to an all art school. XD I'm planning on going into Animation. If I can't get a job with a company, then I'm not really afraid of going freelance and doing my own stuff. It's tough, sure. But it'd allow me even more freedom to do what I do. I'd just have to be reallyyy on top of all my work. haha
I know traveling can be way less expensive if you're not out going overboard. I'm not too big on tourist traps, but some of them I might like to check out at least once. But I'm honestly not even used to having money to begin with. XD I'm not great with my finances, and I currently have no income. hahaha but I'll see.
My biggest worry is becoming a slave to my work. I'm going into art because I love it and I love the opportunities it could open for me. But if it tries to tie me down, I'm more likely to just up and leave. I'm not good at settling in one spot.

Iltu, I'm leaving for London halfway through August and I'm not coming home until halfway through November, so it's going to be quite an extensive trip.
Speaking of traveling cheap... For room we're staying in hostels and abusing the couch surfing system. If you don't know what couch surfing is, it's the cheapest way to have a place to sleep while you travel. It's basically a website where you find people who are willing to let you sleep in their house while you're in their town. My brother used it for a month in Europe and said it was great, and I'm going to do the same thing.
