It was common knowledge that Azula had since lost most of her sense. Ever since her father was defeated by Avatar Aang and her world came crashing down around her. She sat now, in her prison cell in Boiling Rock. Her hair, lack luster, hung in front of her face as she stared at the floor, staring at the same spot that her vision had become accustomed to. She missed the spas of the Royal Palace. This was not where she was meant to be.

Soon.

Soon her time would come and she'd be in her rightful place again.

"Dinner time." A crude almost tin pan was pushed through the slot at the bottom of the door while the slot at the top opened up to reveal the face of a Fire Nation guard. It hadn't been so long ago when that face would have been serving her, fearing her but now that face could only gaze down at her with pity. He would be the first. "Do you follow me?" she asked in a soft voice. It was the same question she had asked each and every guard for the last twelve years. The guards continued to question her sanity, said she was crazy to ask and to think that they would answer yes. Little did they know that she was just waiting for the right person, biding her time. "Eat your dinner," the guard said, shaking his head as he closed the slot. Azula continued to stare at the ground in her dark cell.

Soon.

The slot slid open suddenly. "Do you follow me?" she asked, softly. "The Earth revolves around the Sun."
The ground beneath her shook for a minute and there was an unusual crash of rock against metal before her door opened. A small smile appeared on Azula's face. She rose lucidly to her feet and called out in a sing-song voice. "Oh, guard."

Screams broke out as Ba Sing Se was caught in a surprise attack from the inside. Walls could protect no one and it no longer mattered which circle one belonged to as everyone who got in the way was taken by not only by Firebenders who too sought to regain some sort of control and power but also by the infamous Dai Li, who had not been as disbanded as previously thought. Smoke clouded the sky. Avatar Aang flew through it, over the city on his glider, using water from the waterskins at his side to put out the nearest fire as the smoke clogged his airways.

"GO!" he called to those who could hear him. "GET OUT OF HERE!" He watched, helplessly as those who fought were captured or – or worse. Giving his glider a yank he flew back to the apartment that belonged to his family. Katara came running out when she saw him from the window, visibly pregnant and yet that didn't stop her from using her own waterskin to bend water into a whip, knocking back an approaching Firebender.

"Katara!" he yelled as another Firebender attempted to sneak up behind her. He landed, swinging his staff in a fierce arc, knocking their opponent away and clear through into another house. "Go inside!" he said and Katara nodded, coughing as she went into the house. "Aang!" Aang spun as Fire Lord Zuko came running forward, helping along his elderly Uncle Iroh. Mei was in front of him, their one-year-old son Houjin held tightly in her arms. It must have been planned this way, Aang thought as he motioned Zuko and his family, who had been visiting Ba Sing Se, into his house. Whoever was behind this had wanted them all together at this time. Taking a deep breath, he stomped and punched forward, raising a thick rock wall in front of his house. He did the same thing to each side until his home was surrounded. This would hold the Firebenders off until they could get Earthbenders through.

That would be enough time. He rushed into his dark home, the amount of people surprising him. He hadn't seen Sokka or Suki run in or Toph but there they stood. Eleven people, including his unborn child, looking to him for an answer, for what to do now. "You all need to leave," he said, much to the surprise of the rest. "What?" Katara stepped forward. "Aang, we're not leaving you here!" "Katara, you're not fit to fight!" He shook his head. "No, you have to go, you have to take care of Spirit." Almost on cue, Aang felt someone tug at the bottom of his trousers. He looked down into the large grey eyes of his two-year-old daughter. Smiling sadly, he gathered her up into his arms, holding her to him tightly. "I love you," he whispered softly. "Aang," Katara said, tears in her eyes. Aang stepped forward and pulled Katara into his other arm, holding her there for a moment before transferring Spirit into her arms. "I love you both. Here," he said, handing Katara his staff. He smiled at his daughter. "She'll need it soon."

The ground rocked beneath them, a signal that the opposing forces were attempting to break through. He looked to Sokka and Zuko. "Appa's out back. Make sure they get out of here safely." "I'm staying with you, Aang," Zuko said. "It's my crazy sister out there. Sokka will get them to safety." Sokka looked torn but he nodded as the ground shook again.. "Come on, ladies." He grabbed Toph's and Suki's hands, pulling them out the back door. Mei leaned forward, kissing Zuko before following after, Uncle Iroh's hand gripped in hers. Katara stayed a moment and Aang smiled at her again. "I'll meet you wherever you guys end up." Katara nodded, a tear falling down her cheek. "I'm holding you to that," she said, her throat constricted.

He kissed her and then placed a kiss on Meifeng's forehead, sending them out the door as the earth seemed to shatter around them. "You not planning on getting out of here are you," Zuko muttered, stripping off his robes so that he was left in only his trousers. Aang followed suite. He smiled at the other boy. "I'm not going to stand here and not try though." "Well." Zuko placed his fist on his palm and bowed. "It was an honor fighting beside you and being your friend, Avatar Aang." Aang bowed back. "The same to you, Fire Lord Zuko."

The two of them shared a glance before bursting through the front door of what used to be Aang's home. Dozens of Earthbenders and Fire Nation soldiers stood outside in a crescent. There would be no where to run now. Zuko flung out his arm, a fiery whip appearing in his hand. Aang pulled all the water from the waterskin at his side, long tendrils of water now on both of his arms. They didn't even get a chance to move, however. "Zuzu." The two friends looked up as the crescent parted slightly to let Azula through. She shook her head sadly. "And here I thought we might be able to chat and come to some sort of agreement." She nodded and the two Dai Li jumped forward, the rocks around their hands shooting and enclosing themselves around Zuko's wrists, pulling him to the ground. "Azula," he started. "Azula, you don't know what you're doing!"

"I know exactly what I'm doing," she said, angrily. Lightening crackled in the air and on the tips of her fingertips. "I'm finishing what no one else could. Are you ready, Avatar?" Aang stood up straight, arms at his sides. "You should know, Azula, that it doesn't end with me. Your world conquest will not succeed. You will not win." "I will win!" Azula screamed. "And no one – not Zuko and not you or any Avatar; certainly not some insignificant Waterbender – will defeat me this time!"

The lightening in her fingers shot out viciously. Zuko cried out his friend's name

(( I wasn't exactly sure what to put for the introduction, but here's a before-they're-teenagers intro post. If you wanted something different, feel free t bonk me on the head and then talk to me. ))

"Papa!" A little girl cried at the top of her lungs. She had recently turned one year old and did not know of the world outside her family. Her green eyes filled with tears, and she petted her dark brown hair in frustration. It was all so strange to her but her mother knew better. Her husband was summoned to join other Earthbenders to defend Ba Sing Se. She knew, however, that they may not make it in time.

She put a hand on his cheek and grinned. "You will come back, won't you?"

"I will," he answered. They both knew it could be a lie. For his daughter's sake, he put on a brave face and a hopeful smile. His daughter, however, could not see him through a fog of tears. He picked her up and rested her against his shoulder. There was nothing he could say to calm her down. Instead, he brushed back her bangs with his thumb, planted a kiss on her sensitive skin, and then handed her over to his wife. "I will come back after we have returned peace to the capital. The Avatar and his family are there, but we won't leave all of the work for him. Ba Sing Se was attacked by the Fire Nation and the Dai Li."

"The Dai Li?"

He nodded. "Don't worry." He put a hand on the top of his daughter's head. "Kanon, take care of your mother, okay?" His daughter had quieted considerably, but her nose was dripping phlegm and her finger was getting wrinkles from sitting in her mouth too long. She looked up at him, saw his mustache, and then giggled. To her, it looked like there was a caterpillar glued beneath his nose.

"Come on, Haru! It's time to head out before it's too late!" A man in green and brown clothing waved him down, rushing him to join the ranks.

Haru turned around to yell back. "All right, I'm coming!" Then, he turned back to his small family. Haru picked up a handful of dirt. Using both of his hands, he molded the earth into a form. He revealed it to Kanon, who rested her hands on his open fingers to get a closer look. He whispered to her, "Always keep it with you." Kanon picked the artifact up. Distracted by his craftsmanship, Kanon did not see her father leave. By the time he was gone, her mother decided it was time to go inside. Kanon held on tightly to her gift, seeing it only as a toy horse.

The Fire Nation palace was buzzing. A little boy could easily get lost in the crowd of people going here and there. One little boy walked down a street of Royal Caldera City. His neighbors went into their homes and locked their doors. "Youh!" The little boy turned around to the sound of his mother's voice. She grabbed him and lead him back to the house. Once inside, he walked into the main room. Sitting around a table was his father, uncle, and two older brothers. They were talking excitedly about something.

"Can you believe it?" said his father.

His uncle asked for another drink, and his brothers watched their fatehr in awe.

"I heard it not too long ago when Haul got a message from a messenger hawk!"

"Has she really escaped?" the oldest brother spoke.

His father smacked him on the back of his head. "Of course, you dolt!"

After Yoh's mother brought a new tray of drinks, his uncle picked up a cup and took a sip. He put his cup down before speaking. "She has not caleld for arms yet, so there's no reason to get too geared up yet."

"Ahh," Yoh's father swat the air between him and his brother, "what do you know? As proud Firebenders, we should be ready to support our nation's leader at any time!"

"But Princess Azula isn't the Fire Lord," said the uncle.

Yoh's father drank his tea in one swallow. "Ah! But that is ure to change!" He laughed heartily and raised his glass for a toast. "To Princess Azula and the Fire Nation!" Just as the other men lifted their glasses to his, Yoh's mother scooted him to his bedroom.

"Yoh, get some rest, okay? You've got a big day tomorrow, and I don't want you staying up too late."

Yoh was left by himself in his room. He picked up a ball, and threw it against the wall. It bounced off the wall and once on the floor, and then into his arms. He was almost five years old. With no friends and arrogant brothers and a stubborn father, Yoh only knew happiness when he was with his mother. He was already thinking that if his fathers and brothers went off to war, he would no longer feel anything but happiness. Yoh smiled and continued to play with his ball, wondering in the back of his mind what should be different in his life.

(Aang and Katara had kids at 14? Oh wow. In the begining they were only 12, and one year later they defeated the fire lord. And that made them 13 and one year later they had kids at 14 & this is supposed to be a kids show? XD lol)

Kia ran into the battle where Aang and Zuko was and Aang and herself out of the way. The lighting was gone and Azula looked to see who had stopped her battle and world conquest. "Theres no way your gonna hurt Aang or Zuko crazy princess" Kia yelled. "Crazy you say? I'm not a monster to you?" Azula asked kinda teasing. "A monster? Hah, a monster is way better looking than a crazy old hag like you" Kia replied as Aang stated "That's not a good idea" "Kia, get out of here now" Zuko added. "No way, daddy. I might be only 4 1/2 but come on you're barely 17. And this witch can't stop me that easily." Kia refused to go at all for any reason. "You are just like your father" Aang commented laughing a bit. "And she looks like her mother a little bit, don't she" Zuko added and by that time Azula made a lighting bolt crash through the house and aimed it at Kia. She was hit right on the spot and when the bolt dissapeared she still stood there. "Nice try crazy hag, but you can't take me down that easily" Kia replied sending the power of the lighting bolt that hit her back to Azula and her little gang. Kia was able to control energy, anything with energy but she was only 4 so she knew only little and learned to copy her opponent's moves. Thats what Ty Lee taught her. "Daddy..." is all Kia said before she passed out and Aang caught her. "We have to stop them Aang, we have to do something."

The ground beneath a Dai Li officer and a Firebender beside him shook violently. Before anyone could realize what was going on, the two were shot up into the air by a giant pillar of earth. The moments it took for the Dai Li and Azula's Firebenders to react appropriately, a line of Earthbenders encircled the group, and began launching rocks at individuals.

"Aang!" Haru came running toward the three. "Sorry we're late. Where're the others?" He looked around, aware that Azula stood not too far from them, but the unconscious Kia in Aang's arms and the lives of his friends concerned him more. "I'll take her to safety." He looked over to Azula. "It looks like you've got your hands full." Haru nodded to Zuko and Aang in turn. As he spoke, a few of his comrades were rendered useless by the Dai Li's stone gloves. Whatever defense they had was slowly deteriorating, but it allowed Haru to buy some time to talk to the Avatar and Fire Lord. It had been a long time since he last saw the two of them. Now was not the best of times to become reacquainted.

Aang looks at Zuko "I'm going to try to get into the avatar state. Mind holding her off for me?" Aang asks and Zuko nods "Sure thing Aang" Zuko replies looking at his insane sister and attacking her without saying a word. "Whats the matter Zuzu, can't hit me" Azula teases. As they throw fire back and forth the Dai Lee tries to attack Aang but something moved under the earth and came into the group of them making them turn and look. It turned out to be Toph whom was distracting and taking out whomever she could get. "Toph?" Aang asked confused thinking she had left with the others. When he looked over his shoulder, Katara and the rest of the gang including the children had appeared and was ready to battle. "Hurry up Aang don't worry about us" Katara yelled and they started attacking people. Aang sat down on the ground indian style and made the earth form around him to block out the sounds.
