This is a story that I have been writing and I wish to share to the people of Menewsha. I'm going to TRY to get a new chapter every 3/4 weeks. So, here we go.

~Chapter One~
I look into the man's eyes, seeing the fear and regret consume his body. His tears filled with sorrow.
"Please! Please! Don't kill me!" he pleads as he drops to the ground, "I'm sorry!"
"It is to late for apologies. Take a breath and cherish it for it is your last. Say a prayer to the Gods and hope that they will forgive you for the horrible things you have done," I say ready to strike. He looks up at me strait into my eyes and in one slash, he was gone.
I walk out with a bloody red path following me. As I walk in the deep darkness of Shabone streets I look around me. What a mess the world has become. No one wanted this, the constent scream of death, the smell of blood running through the air. No one can stop it...and I help it.I was so deep in thought I didn't even notice the steps coming from behind me. I think to myself "Am I being followed? Only one way to figure out." I start to skip along the dusty roads, and so do the steps behind. I turn a corner, the foot steps follow. "Alright. Time to act is now!" I swiftly spin around and I unleash my sword. I lunge forward for a kill, but all I did was cut the air. I put my sword strait out and make it follow my eye sight. I start to look down when my sword softly taps a small child's head. I sigh in relief.
"What are you doing here?"
"Ummm...I don't know." says the little girl to me.
I shake my head, "Go home. Little girls like you should not be out this late at night."
"Alright. I'll just head this...uh oh." First thought "Crap".
"What do you mean by uh oh?"
She starts to shake and look around wildly, "I-I-I-I don't know where home is...I lost." Just what I thought. I see tears starting to well up in her eyes.
"Hey!", I tap her nose and she looks up at me, "what do you say to me walking you back?" Her tears instantly went away.
She jumps into the air and hugs me. "Yay, yay, YAAAAAAAAAY!!" I pick her up and spin her around and she starts to giggle and laugh. I put her back down and get on my knees so I am at eye level with her. "But first! Promise you will not go following random people like this. Not all people are as nice as me. People are dangerous. Especially during these times." She swings her head back and comes back for a giant nod and almost falls. I catch her and laugh, "Your such and dork."
"HEY!" she yells at me with a adorable little angry face and I just laugh harder. She starts to jump up and down in anger "STOP IT! STOP LAUGHING!!" My laugh goes to a giggle, to a snicker, and then I stop. As she stands there and says, "Thank you!" in a serious little voice, I notice she has no shoes. Not even socks! I smile and swing her to my back.
"Yay! Piggy back ride!" she giggle and squeaks. I turn around and start to run. She grabs on tighter, practically choking me. But she was having so much fun, I don't mind at all.
After a couple blocks I slow down so I could catch my breath. She needs it as well from all the laughing and squeaking. I lower her from my shoulders to my back and she slumps over her arms like noodles over my shoulders. She starts to hum a little tune. Soft and pretty, like a lullaby. A couple minutes pass and she perks up once again and asks, "What's your name?"
"Amilia. What about you?"
"My name is Penelo!" She said with great pride and honnor. I giggle a little. She is such a sweet little girl. Even with her ratty kimono that colors have faded and looked all musty, she still was beautiful. Even with her dirty face she shines like the morning sunrise. She was very young to. Must be 4 or 5. She is lucky that she is young. All the bad things in the world just seem to melt away at that age.
"You have a very pretty name Penelo."
"Thank you!" she says with a great big smile that took up her whole face.
"Hey Penelo, Why did you start to follow me back there?" I asked curiously.
She put on the dorkiest thinking face and says, "You looked sad. I say, NO PRETTY GIRL SHOULD EVER BE SAD! NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT! So...I guess I wanted to make you happy."
"Well, you succeeded. Thank you."
"My pleasure!" She says with a little song in her words. "STOP!" she yelled. I put her down quickly and reached for my sword.
"What's wrong?!?"
"I know where I live from here." she says with a huge smile.
I sigh and say, "Don't do that!"
She looked down and said sadly "I sorry." I think to myself "Oh great! You made the little one cry. Good job!". I sighed again and rolled my eyes and got to my knees and hugged her.
"It's ok. You were just excited to be close to home." A big smile reapers.
I let go and she says, "Thank you so much for helping me get back home."
"Well, thank you for cheering up my day...night....oh whatever!" She giggles at my silliness and starts to walk away. I turn around and start to walk when all of a sudden I feel a death grip to my leg. I look down and there was Penelo holding on. "I scared! I scared!"
I roll my eyes again and say, "There there. Why don't you just lead me to your place." She smiles again. Such a sparkle in her eye. She grabs my hand and starts to run off like a little race horse. I try to keep up but I still get dragged.
After a couple blocks she does a sharp turn into a ally. She finally stops in front of what looked like a convicted old drug store.
"This is home sweet home." she smiles at me. I smile back but deep inside all I can feel is sadness. She lives in such a dump. The place was covered with bums and trash.
But then Penelo's face goes from happy to deep fear and she screams, "WATCH OUT!!" I spin my head around and all I see is a man running at me with a knife. I grab Penelo and I push her to the side. Just in time I block the knife with my sword.
"Well, Hello." I say in my devilish voice. I knock us both back. Getting into a proper stance, I go "Neo" and use my hand to tell him to come. He comes at me with lighting speed and lunges forward. I flow like water and step to the side and he passes me and I give a little push to his back and he falls to the ground. He jumps back up and goes for a punch with his other hand I move my head to the side and dodge it. Quickly he comes back with a under kick. But that trick won't work on me. I jump up and round house kick him in the face and he flys backwards and I land with perfect grace. He wipes some blood from his mouth. He runs at me and I run to him. By the look in his eyes I knew, who ever hit next, kills.
That's when I hear a scream, "DON'T DO IT! STOP! PLEASE!" It was Penelo and she sounded serious. I wasn't sure who she said it to but I obeyed and I bend down, and his gut meets my side and I flip him with my back to the ground.
Penelo comes from the sidelines to the man and crys out, "BIG BROTHER! ARE YOU HURT!?!" That's when I realized I had made a great mistake. I finally get a good look at the boy. He had to be a little older then me. He had darker hair, but the same eyes as Penelo. I put my sword back in it's sheath. Penelo helps him up. He gently pushes Penelo behind him.
He stands strong and says in a dark voice, "Who are you? Why are you here? Why did you have Penelo?"
"I mean no harm."
"Why should I trust you. You have a sword and you reek of blood." I do not blame him for attacking me. I drop my sword in front of me and step back.
I bow deeply and say, "I do not ask you to trust me. But, to believe me. I mean no harm. I thought you were a threat to your younger sister. I was only meaning to protect." He looks at me and I hear heavy foot steps come near. It can't be Penelo. Am I going to get hurt? Is he going to attempt to kill me? I feel a blade to my neck. I take a deep breath. "To gain his turst I must not move. I must not fight back. Don't move, don't fight back. Don't move, don't fight back." I repeated that over and over in my head.
"DON'T DO IT BIG BROTHER! PLEASE! SHE IS MY FRIEND!!" The blade leaves my neck quickly and I feel small, little arms around my neck. It had to be Penelo. I drop to my knees and hug her back. I look up and the brother puts his knife away.
"You may pick up your sword, turn around, and walk away and never return to this place. Or your life is mine." he turns and walks into the building.
I look at Penelo and I say, "I must go now." She lets go and I pick up my sowrd and put it to it's sheath once more.
"Why are you leaving? You didn't do anything wrong!"
"Shh shh. Calm yourself. I don't want to leave either. But, in order to keep peace here I must leave."
"But, will I ever see you again?" she says with a tear starting to slip down her face but she wipes it away quickly.
"You just might." I say with a sad smile. Knowing we will more then likely never see each other again.
"I'm going to miss you." she says. But she can finally not hold it in anymore. She burst out into tears and lunges at me and crys on my shoulder. "Don't go! Don't go! I want a friend!" I hold back my tears and I gently move her chin to look at me.
"I will always be your friend. Right in here." I gently poke her where her heart is supposed to be. She nods but collapses to my shoulder and crys once more. As much as I don't want to, I push her away and get up.
I caress her cheek and say, "Goodbye my friend."
"Goodbye." I take one last look in her eyes. The pain was unbearable. I turn around and start to walk away, with her cry ringing in my ears.

wow your story is soo good. i love how the main character is a hard as but has a soft spot for Penelo, i can't wait to read the rest if you keep posting it.
