i did get to sleep a bit last night but after a few hours i am up.....again.
i think i worry about too many things in my sleep and it wakes me.

Yeah, the past few nights I haven't slept hardly at all. Too much drama going on. Even with my sleep medication I still only slept like an hour last night before I woke back up.

Normally I only sleep a few hours a night anyway unless I take something for it due to other things that stress me out. That and I'm more of a night owl anyway. That doesn't work too well when I have to be up at 3am for work almost every day though.

I might as well be one. I'm a night owl and an early bird (doing well if I get 3 hours of sleep a night), so life can be interesting sometimes.

I'm an insomniac, but I've got a prescription for Ambien now and that's worked wonders for me. xD I only wake up once at night, and then I'm only awake for a minute or ten at most.

Before though, I'd wake up around 3 AM and not be able to get to sleep until 5 AM, which isn't good when you wake up at six.

Good luck with your nighttime woes, though!

I think Ive slept a total of 12hours over the past 2 weeks. If not less. I hate not being able to sleep, it effecting my job performance. -.-

I have insomnia off and on during my life. It appears more when I'm stressed...especially so when my depression flares up. Other times I have no trouble with it. But I agree with Daria - melatonin helps me some. It's not addicitive either so I can stop using it when I want too...I haven't used it for months :D

Oh, I have it. My friend can come on and say so as well. I can take pills and fall asleep but I usually avoid them. =/ I probably can go to sleep earlier (I guess) if I didn't have internet. >>; Though I didn't have internet for a month and I still was up, so I don't know. Dx

I've tried melatonin, but it was over the counter stuff that you could just buy. I built up an immunity crazy fast.

I have just something in a really low dose. when that is gone ill talk to my doctor again about getting melatonin.

Oh my god, I was sooo tired earlier--after I got home from the funeral and stuff..I almost fell asleep on my laptop. I went to go lay down and my mom had the tv on (which wasn't all that bad) then she turned on the lap beside my bed in the hotel room and stirred my from the sleep I was trying to get..it's hard enough for me to sleep in stranger placed as it...grrr..and she had the nerve to whine about me not going to bed at a decent hour...I'm trying to make my eyes tired again...it's taken four hours now :(

I'm a light sleeper :O I hate it soooo much...I was on insomnia stuffs a few years ago...they took like 6+ hours to kick in I got a weird high from them and then I just crashed

Is insomnia heritable or something you get since birth or is it something you get when you are used in sleepless nights?

It's not inherited it's usually caused by a major disruptance in ones life...I got it when my parents started to seperate I was scared half the time because I don't like being alone--so with that I have adandonment issues--mine comes and goes like a bitch lol...I forcibly tire my self nine times out of ten...southern weather help me sleep too when i get out in it since it's still hot most of the time the heat make me really sleepy

Seeing that your internet is keeping you up, I would suggest going to bed at a decent hour, the internet will always be there get some sleep, lol don't let me you can't because you can't and you need to

Heheheheh. Yeah, I started sleeping 8 or 9 p.m. not like my other sleep (12-3 a.m. lol dawn) :D and it's a relief! :)

Yeah, it helps if things that cause insomnia can be eliminated for the people that are affected differently, it makes life a little easier.

Mine started when my parents were separating too! (every day i swear we get more and more related kayla)
But its been 5 years since and now it just comes and goes...
lately its because ive been stressed with living at home.
