Name: Samuel Larson
Age: 17
Bio: Samuel had the unfortunate circumstances to be born into a aristocratic family.
Other would find this a blessing, but for him it was just a pain. He was an inventor, mechaninc and scientist. He wanted nothing more
than be allowed to work in peace. Unfortunately he was the only son and heir of their noble blood. He found himself in trouble when his parents died leaving him
with aunts uncles cousins and others who would find it no hardship to bypass the only obstruction left in his family for their fortune. Himself.

He turned to a crazy washer woman. She said she could help find him a suitable servant that could watch over him and allow him to get back to work in piece.[/QUOTE]
He sounds great. Mine doesn't have much of a back story worked out, as I'm just changing one of my own characters to fit, but this is what I've got.

Javan Imella has more pride than he needs, but he's been around long enough that it would be silly to agrue with it. He is honest, but still enjoyed taking edvantage of others. He can act very irresponsible, but he knows when he needs to pay attention. He once had a strong relationship with a human. The other died in a fire while he was away, but it doesn't seem to affect him now.

Samuel walked warily down the road. He had taken no other servants with him, for he was told he would receive one when he was finished with his work that night. In fact he did have another with him. The gas lamps flickered in the night, giving an ethereal air to the night.

He wondered if perhaps he had done the right thing. obtaining, "hired help", in this way was nothing he was ever experienced with. What if there was more to this contract that he was unaware of. alas his stubborness wouldn't let him try to back out of it. He would just have to hope for the best. Perhaps he could finally get back to work, and he could finally stop looking over his shoulder from his murderous family members.

"It's a bit of a walk from here in the lower quarters. If need be we can call a cab when we get to the wealthy district." He spoke glancing over to his new companion.

Javan nodded once, walking just one step behind the other man. He wasn’t sure if he was looking forward to his work or not, but now he had something more to focus on, and in the end it would probably be worth it. Hasn’t sure if this man completely knew what he was getting himself into, but he didn’t really care about that part either.

“That’s fine.” He spoke calmly, his voice sounding near emotionless, but he was curious about what was ahead of him. If they were going to walk the rest of the way or not didn’t make much of a difference to him. Someone like this really wasn’t what he’s expected, though he was never too sure what to expect, so he knew he was looking forward to learning more about the man that he was now contractually tied to.

He continued to walk, his steps strong and quick. The air was a bit chilly, the autumn air starting to turn toward winter. He shivered a little despite his big coat.

he glanced at the small mark upon his left hand. I strangely illuminated star lay faintly in red on his flesh. The mark of the pact, the washer woman had called it. this would make sure that he never forgot his deal. A paper document could be destroyed, but in order to remove this, he'd have to destroy his own flesh.

Javan smirked as he noticed the man looking at his hand. He had and identical marking showing his side of their agreement, though his wasn’t on his hand. His eyes again focused on where he was walking, but he spoke to Samuel again.

“Do you like it?” This wasn’t at all a serious question; he doubted that the other would even answer him, but he was still a bit curious, hoping that he would get some kind of answer. He paid little attention to the cold weather, his mind more focused on other things.

"Like it?" He asked surprised by the sudden question. Was he asking if he liked their contract or perhaps the brand now upon his hand.

"I'm not sure what you mean..." He answered a little nervous. he brought up his hand showing off the brand to the other.

"do you mean the mark or our contract?" He asked sincerely.

((We should work out the contract ooc.. What if in order to keep him bound to the mortal plain or to give him power, their needed to be physical action. Of course the washer woman had told him he just needed to feed the death god. :D We can discuss it more in the thread... ))

Javan grinned as he saw the mark on Samuel’s hand. It was the proof of their agreement, and he was pleased to see it there on the other man’s skin. His own wasn’t on such a noticeable place, covered by the shirt and coat that he wore.

“Yes, the mark.” He glanced back down at the other’s hand before focusing on the sidewalk again. “I haven’t got much interest in how you feel about our contract.” His voice showed clearly how uncaring he was, but he was very curious about the rest of their deal. Samuel didn’t seem to be the type that he would get along with well, which would probably make this more interesting than it already was.

"Well I guess it means that I can get back to my work undisturbed....so.... That pleases me I suppose. It is a strange design, I think for public appearance I should take to wearing a glove. It would raise unnecessary questions amongst my peers." He walked along his gaze drifting over to his new body guard. Was he really a being whose work was to carry off the souls of the dead to their proper place?

As a more grounded man it seemed odd to have been involved with something so mysterious as this. He wondered if he would regret it.

Javan very much liked how it looked on the other’s hand, but it did make sense that he would want to cover it. Wearing a glove would probably be best while being around others. They didn’t need any attention drawn to it. While it didn’t matter much to him who knew what, he was sure that it would easily cause trouble for his new employer, which wasn’t something he wanted for the man. It only really needed to be between them, and he would prefer to keep it that way if it would make either if their work any easier.

“Yes, that would be best.” Still, he hadn’t been told much about Samuel’s work. Javan didn’t know what exactly this man did, but he would find out soon enough. It didn’t matter to him much, as it probably had little to do with his own part of the job.

Walking onward they turned at a new block, entering a more higher class of town. the buildings were less shabby, bigger and there were even a few street lanterns. he glanced once more over at his new body guard.

"If you have any questions,... or needs, please let me know. As my body guard you will need to address me as sir, at least in the company of others. Also I will need you to sleep in the same room as myself. It would be best for my protection.. at least, I believe so. I do not trust anyone, especially my family. While I am sure that not everyone is out for my blood, I am not a... uhm. People person, so I could not tell you who those are. I will leave it for you to judge and see to my safety. For tonight it will be enough to get some rest. Tomorrow we can go over anything else necessary." He cocked his head in question, seeing if this was permissible.

He listened carefully to what the man was telling him. These all made sense, and they had all been expected. Still, it seemed odd to him. Samuel was clearly not the type to enjoy having others around all the time. He would surely want some time on his own. Then again, Javan probably wouldn’t be speaking with him much during his work, so it may not make much of a difference anyway. He nodded once before answering.

“Of course.” He sighed quietly and looked up from the sidewalk, taking a moment to admire what was around him. He hadn’t any idea how much longer it would take for them to get home, but he was enjoying their walk.
