The Idea
Okay, so we've all seen the Pokemon threads and they just seem to die, so I'm wondering if we need to change the way we go about it. Would anyone be interested in just being a Pokemon? You could run around and run into a trainer or two (which are also playable). Sadly, the Pokemon will talk, but that shouldn't be a show stopper.

The Characters
+Pokemon - you could be wild or captured
+People - trainer, gym leader, team rocket member, just a random person, etc.
+You could play one person and up to two Pokemon

The Setting
Wherever the majority of people wish this to take place. It could be Hoen or any other PokeWorld. But it could also be NYC, Egypt, the Village Hidden in Leaves, or anyplace else.

The Storyline
More or less, the world's in danger because someone's gotten a hold of the legendaries. Cliche. Yeah, I know. Got something more original? Please share.

Suggestions
Anyone have any thoughts?

The Limit
+There isn't really a limit, but let's not go to crazy. We don't need ONE MILLION people in this. So how about 5 to 13 users?
+The number of repeat Pokemon shouldn't be too high. How about no more than 3 of one species. And let's be somewhat original. We don't need three Pikachus and only one Gliscor.

I could try it. I actually like the idea of being a Pokemon. I've done that before a while back.

Been in several pokemon rps. Never played as a pokemon before. I'd love to try me out some Umbreon. But only if no one else is gonna play one. If someone else is gonna play one, I'll be something else. Erm... what kind of sound does Umbreon make anyway? =/

As for a setting... I'd be VERY interesting to use an animated real world. Not sure how that'd work out exactly, but it's be an interesting experiment for sure.

I think Umbreon just says its name clearly. Gary had one in the series and I've seen a few episode where it says it's name.
As for me. I am thinking of being a Pichu or Pikachu, but I could be a Raichu, too. In the past my Pikachu had blue eyes like that one in the Pi-kahuna episode.

Oh my. I actually remember that pikachu surfer episode. Honestly, I stopped watching the anime after the third generation or something. Once James got a different voice actor because of that stunt he pulled, I quit. But, I'm still a hardcore gamer, so there's always that. Oh, and Raichu is by far one of my favorite pokemon. I always do what Lt. Surge did and evolve my pikachus right when I get them. I'm a terrible trainer... but I love me some Raichu.

:P That's kind of funny. I've done that with my own Pikachu till I figured they have to be atleast after level 44 when it has gone through all its attack choices.
And actually by the time the Diamond and Pearl Series came out all the voices changed. Not for any reason, though. At least one that makes sense. Apparently all the original voice actors got fired I heard.
I'll still play the games, too. I love those. I'm kind of scared when the new ones come out, though... Seems quite different than the first ones I've played and I started with Blue.
During the mystery dungeon games, I always have to start myself off as a Pikachu. It's just one of those weird urges... Heh.

Yes he was. Despite being old... He was much older than Ash's Pikachu by comparison.
Whenever I role-played as one similar, I used an image from the flashback of the first meeting when he still looked young. So cute! Especially on the little raft.

Oh, and by the pokemon being able to talk, do you mean like with each other in their own languages? Or can they actually talk with humans too?

That's a good question. I was curious about it, too. If it was like that, it would almost be like Meowth and those telepathic Pokemon or something. Like how they spoke with human language...

I might be interested in this, actually. It's been aaaaages since I joined a Pokemon roleplay...

That sounds like a fun idea, do you mind if I join with a Zuruzukin? ( if you don't accept 5th gens then I'll go with Wartortle )

I really like the idea of the legendaries being taken away actually.

This would actually be my first role play ever if I join. I must warn you though that I'm only really familiar with Kanto and Johto Pokemon; the rest are very fuzzy to me.

They would actually talk. No "Pika pi pi pikachu"s happening. It would just get confusing. The Pokemon would just be wearing collars that would translate their actual language to English (or whatever language you decide to use).

Again, it would be a collar that would translate their voice. Much like the collar's in the movie Up.

That's fine. I don't really know many of the regions that well either. I'll post a map of the section we decide to pick.

Okay that's good to know. I imagine if the Pokemon wanted to talk amongst themselves without a human knowing they could switch them off or something, too. Maybe. Just a thought. If it was possible that is.

Either that or some kind of sensor. Mostly for the ones who can't turn them off. Those who stand on all fours with short legs. I'm sure some of them would feel uncomfortable if others had to turn it off for them. Maybe even embarrassed.
Though they could maybe use their paws or paw nails to turn them off if it were in button form...

Is that so if they want to say something that only other Pokemon can understand they don't run the risk of humans hearing/understanding?

Through Our Eyes: A Pokemon Roleplay

One question. I'll understand if it's not allowed, but would slightly different coloured pokemon (not shiny) be allowed? Like the blue eyed Pikachu for example.

That's perfectly fine. I'm not picky, so you can use shiny or wacky colored ones.
