[Quick little disclaimer, any images or resources used are property of their original creators]

Name: Steele Razéous Danateia
Age: 20
Appearance: Image Linky
Personality:
As the first in line for the throne, you'd think Steele to be rather arrogant, spoiled, and well aware of his own wealth at all times. But he's remarkably relaxed half the time, even with pending pressure from parents to find a future queen, the constant duties and of course being prepared for the role by one boring tutor after another.
Steele is a little unorthodox for the Danateia family, and while out in the open he shows to smile and be normal or relaxed, there are times when people have seen him on his own, only for brief moments, where they could catch a glimpse of misery in his face before he returned to the usual routine.

BIO: Steele's birth was a concealed affair, whether it was simply covered up was unknown, but since then he has always been considered the most unusual son of Danateia's royal family.
Although he took to aristrocracy rather well, he seemed to share few of the Danateian Kingdom's vices, noted for his abilities with a blade and even having some degree of combat magic available.
Steele has, most of his life, been somewhat troublesome, either by being a little lazy at times or other times just not being able to concentrate on what he actively called boring things. How serious he actally takes becoming the king often always comes into question amongst adults, or those older.
Steele had been known to occasionally romance pretty girls and entertain them, but never did anything serious, simply enjoying the company. It is said his younger brother, who by no means looks related, dislikes his older brothers rather aloof attitude.
Oddly enough when he manages to get out into the town, the civilian population, for the most part, seem to consider him rather welcome company which, in turn, makes his suitability even more ambiguous and confusing.

__________________________________

Something about the day made Steele wonder, it made him feel as though something were wrong, but then, it always did. Perhaps it was the rain, pouring upon the rooftops and verandas of the great castle, hammering the tiles like the hail of endless arrows, the footsteps of a million tiny feet, an army of foreboding.
Way up on a sheltered parapet, the strange prince stood, a regal cloak wrapped around his shoulders as he stared down at what looked to be a prison carriage drawing into the castle, though it remained covered and no-one would be able to see whatever cargo was on board. But somehow he knew.. Perhaps it was this that made the day feel so wrong..

His parents simply turned a blind eye to the immorality of it,
Oh-ho-ho! Dear boy! Slavery is like a tradition, it has worked for so long, why should we simply stop now? His mother had replied once,
Steele wasn't sure he even had an answer that didn't sound even a bit naive,
It is what it is, there's no use complaining about it, brother.
"Arrogant little bastard.." He muttered. His younger brothers words rung a little too clearly in his mind for his liking and he pulled a scrunched face of disgust, they spoke like that in front of their slaves all the time, probably figured it would put them in their place to know that they were in the clutches of people eminently willing to punish or even execute anyone who didn't agree.

Steele, the strange prince.. It was a name uttered like a whisper for fear of it resulting in the demise of those foolish enough to speak it. Maybe he was strange. Maybe his ideas simply needed a little rehabilitating so they put it.. But for now he stared down at the carriage and grimaced, watching the new soon-to-be-slaves of the royal family being filed out.

Something about the day felt wrong..

Name: ? ? ?

What she goes by: Roselina Willis

Age: Eighteen

Personality: She's quiet. Rarely even speaks, which makes people wonder if she is actually mute. But when she does speak, its usually rude things, which make people think that it is better if she doesn't speak at all. She cares for things she loves, which, people wouldn't guess that she loved at all. Plus, she sometimes is overprotection to the thing's she loves, and she is very cautious around people. She's very good at lying, and hiding things from people. Other then fighting, that's her specialty, and if it wasn't obvious, she is also very Conservative, she doesn't like people getting too close.

BIO: Well, she's good at lying right? Even if you did ask her to tell her past, then it'd probably all be a lie. How do you know she's not lying? Well there is trust. But, how can you trust a liar?

----------

"You know what to do."

The words of the old man, who's face was hidden by the shadow's of the dark alley, still rung in her head. The hidden assassin opened her eyes revealing the baby blues, she stared up at the celling of the slavery carriage. Wishing to see the blue sky, or maybe the diamond stars. But no, just rotting wood. She closed her eyes again. Listening to the sound of the rain drops.

"Failure is not an option."

"Failure is not an option." She repeated the words in a soft whisper, which was drowned out by the sound of the rain. When she opened her eyes once again, they seemed to glow red for a single second when a familiar voice spoke.

"Get out, we are here."

The slaver spoke.

"You guys should be honored to serve in a royal family."

Honored? Oh yes, of course the assassin was. That's what she wanted. Even if the wealthy employer didn't ask her to murder the royal family Danateia, she would of done that anyway. Memories ran through her, not good ones. Memories that could never be erased. She wanted blue blood on her hand's, she craved for it. She wished for the moment to come sooner. But, the employer didn't want it to be so soon.

The assassin got dragged out of the carriage, along with other slave's.
And just as she suspected, she was assigned to be a maid. But, unluckily, it was only to take care of the garden's, and she could rarely take care of thing's inside the castle. Cheh...This is bothersome. She thought, as she was still being pushed along. How could she get close to the royal family while working in the garden's? They even marked her so that they knew that her job would be in the garden's. So now she couldn't even change job's with another maid.

She glanced at large door's that lead to the throne room.

"Patience. Wait."

The assassin turned her head away. Even though she could easily use anything as a weapon around her, a different plot was running through her head. One that would keep her hidden.

Steele's eyes focused through the rain and rising mist from the torches to try and look a tone of the slave sin particular, it wasn't a hawk-like vision that let him hone in on this particular one, but without a second thought he hopped over the edge of the precipice. The nearby guard could only manage a startled cry and looked over to watch as the silver-haired royal slid down the banner hanging from the tower. He hit a scalloped roof and skidded down along it until he landed on a walkway, but hopped onto the wall and dropped again, hitting another sloped roof until he landed on a veranda further below.

The prince hopped off the veranda but caught the edge so he could swing into the shelter calmly before making his way down the flight of stairs leading into the courtyard, a half jog being enough to catch him up tot he pack of slaves being led.
He weaved in-between the indeterminate faces one by one until he found the one he'd spotted from high above. There was an odd gleam in his eyes. Not the kind given off by desire, but a curiosity, something aboutt he girl struck him as odd. He couldnt really identify why, but then looked overhis shoulder at the rather shocked slaver,,
"M-majesty-" The man had begun, only to be cut off by what sounded like an obnoxiously pretentious voice, the prince spoke in a way that could only be described as fake by any keen listener,
"I'm taking this one. I've wanted a new servant for quite some time."
"But she-"
"Don't question me!" He raised his voice, feigning a temperament that made the man withdraw, one advantage about being the strange prince meant some people were afraid of him. He turned to look at the somewhat younger woman, the slave he'd chosen out of the blue,
"Your assignment has been changed, you'll serve me directly," He stated simply, a wry smirk on his face before he began walking back towards the stairs, but looked over his shoulder at the still-confused slaver,
"Get it seen to, or you're next for the guillotine!" He barked, the man jumped almost clear out of his skin before nodding, he was about to grab for the girl but a sharp glare from the prince, who turned swiftly and pointed at him made him freeze still,
"And if she's damaged in any way, I'll be there to behead you myself. Not a scratch, do you understand..?"
"Y-yes your highness..! Come on you!" The slaver barked afterward, pointing towards the door where the castle-assigned servants were going. The advantage of being castle staff meant she'd have her own room, after all she needed a place to store tidier clothes than what the gardeners and grounds workers wore, she'd also be allowed to bath more frequently, for sake of keeping up appearances for castle visitors.

Steele meanwhile had to go break the news to his current personal servant, which would bring him a certain level of personal amusement..

The assassin was shocked. Surprising since she was trained to always be on guard. But, this was so odd-- She just couldn't believe it. Why would the Prince ask for her? Actually, she was a bit disappointed. Ah well, at least this will be easier. She thought, she waited for the other maid's and butlers to go ahead of her before she followed along, and then began to follow him in thought. Even though she was thinking, she still knew what was happening around her.

The prince made her Curious. Why exactly did he want her? Did the prince know himself? The assassin gave a small, unnoticeable smile. "How odd." She whispered, no one even noticed her soft voice.

She was told to take a bath before getting changed into her uniform, out of the dirty rag's she was wearing. She did everything she was told, without a word of disagreement, without a complaint. When she was done, she was told to go to her room, and wait for any further order's from the Prince.

The assassin fell unto her bed, and closed her eyes. There was a bell above her bed that could be rung at anytime by the prince. She just hoped that it wouldn't come soon. She was exhausted.

Now, all I have to do is wait for the sign from my employer.

The argument could be heard over half the castle as Steele broke the bad news to Jeize, his cureent, or indeed, now-former servant. Having served the pricne without any real problem for five years, he was stunned, especially when the prince flat-out stated to him that he couldn't be trusted. Anyone who knew Steele would have been shocked at this sudden choice, it wasn't a surprise that his mother had come knocking to ask what was wrong and why he'd gotten rid of the man. She wasn't used to her son being obtrusive or demanding in such a manner, he rarely wanted anything so bad he'd go out of his way o throw full authority behind it.

He simply smiled and suggested he was being spontaneous, the castle had been so boring lately, a little uproar couldn't hurt to throw up a little excitement. Stunned, she left rather silent, Steele popping his head out to watch as Jeize complained to his younger brother then. And that was why he couldn't be trusted.. A man on the large payroll of a prince couldn't be trusts, simple as. With no spy for his younger brother to plant beneath Steele's feet he felt more secure. He'd been dying for an opportunity like this.

But his mind returned, for a moment, to the worn-looking girl that he'd chosen.. The image of her struck him as odd, not exactly right.. The dirt and much made a good mess of things, a good disguise of hiding what she was like underneath, but her stance, even her physical shape.. Maybe he was just imagining it.. She seemed healthy, and compliant at least..

He would wait a while, things were bound to die down again, but he would refuse to take Jeize back, his term with the prince was done, he could serve some-one else. The prince had found his way to the balcony of his room, again in the rain. It wasn't long before the slave carriage pulled out, they'd gotten their pay.. Time to go round up some more merchandise..
The prince shook his head to himself and stared up into the rain with a slight smile.
Something still felt wrong.. But at least he felt a little happier.

It would be hours later that not the bell would be rung for the girl Steele had chosen, but the door would receive a knock from the matron,
"Come on girl, time to wake up, his majesty has asked me to make sure you're uninjured," She called from the other side of the door, grabbing the handle and calmly opening it to the candlelight from the hall, it was late afternoon by now. The matron herself wasn't exactly the most desirable thing, but to call her ugly would be false, she looked nice enough, pleasant, a roundish face and the signs of age beginning to take their toll, a rather well-fed look to her too.
She looked rather happy herself as she made her way in to light the few lanterns in Roselina's room,
"I'm Melna, the Matron," She introduced herself, placing her hands on her hips, "I usually oversee the maids but I also tend to first aid duties. Come come, lets have a look at you, dear, any pain anywhere? Any bruises or cuts? Scars?"

Even though it seemed as if the Assassin was asleep, she was still wide-awake. But once she was told to 'wake up' she slowly sat up, and watched as the Matron walked in. She looked like a nice lady, but of course the Assassin didn't take that in.

She gave a small sigh. Might as well speak up, she thought. "Bruises. But other then that, some old scars." She pointed at her arm, right underneath her thread-like tattoo, where bruises from the grip of the slaver when he first took her from her so called 'Home Town'. The scar's she was talking about, was all on her back, but she didn't want to show those. They where old, not like she could get rid of it.

"His majesty...Why does he want me?" She asked quietly, curious. She didn't know if the Melna knew or not.

[Its fine ^^;;]

"Bruises.. Oh dear.." Melna frowned softly, checking on them, "He wouldn't really kill some-one over a few little bruises.." She reasoned, smiling in the new maid's direction, "Don't let his act fool you, but still, those need taking care of," She stated calmly, placing her hand on the bruised arm. A soft glow surrounded her fingers, a palue blue and green light, mixing in turqoiuse splendour as it wrapped around the arm and began to soothe away the lingering pain of the bruises and eventually the bruises themselves,
"There we go, much better. Now dont you forget Melna is here for you if you need anything, okay? You're one of my girls now and its my duty to look after you all." She proudly thumped her own chest with a smile.

"Anyway.. Prince Steele is.. Difficult to interpret for the most part. All I can tell is that he's just nicer than his family," She leaned in closer to whisper the last words, adding softly, "But dont tell anyone I said that, okay..?" The rotund woman winked and stood straight again, "Anyway dear, you've cleaned up nicely," The matron remarked, placing a hand on her chin and examining the new maid,
"Well perhaps he just took a wild guess that you'd be quite pretty cleaned up.. He certainly wouldn't have been wrong." She mused, motioning towards the door,
"Come on, I'll show you the way, I'd always find myself toddling on over to his room to fix cuts and scrapes from when he'd get into fights with his brother or when he was training. He stopped recently.. I'm not sure why exactly.." she frowned slightly, seeming both confused and disappointed,
"Oh look at me! Blathering away like a nattering bird, practically talking your ears off! You must be absolutely nervous about this whole ordeal! Do forgive me, I simply get so excitable."

((Sorry I haven't posted ^^' been busy...))
The assassin didn't speak a word as she listened to Melna. She wasn't shocked as Melna as she used some sort of magic so that the bruise's went away. She thought it was unnecessary. It was only some small bruises..Little pain to the amount that she experienced over the years.

Melna sounded so kind, and caring. But Roselina didn't let that get to her. "Don't get attached" one of the rules she went by. Getting close to someone only got her, and them hurt. She'd rather not go through that again.

As Melna said that the Prince was hard to interpret, she felt that this would be even more bothersome. It was going to take longer, she thought. Much longer.

The assassin followed along behind Melna, still not saying a word as she began talking away. She still listened to her, since she was trained to listen to everything around her. Sometimes she wished that she could block out unwanted things.

[That's fine lol]

"Yeah.. I'd be quiet if I were you too." Melna chuckled softly, patting the girl on the shoulder and leading her on a little more quietly. The hallways were decorated oddly, about what one could expect of such a family, portraits of the family together, grand, elaborate paintings, sombre faces, eyes that felt like they were staring and judging all who passed.
Suits of ornate, gothic armour lined the halls at five meter intervals, black steel laden with gold trim, hands crossed atop dark long-swords whose blades were shaped in the form of a cross at their ends, secondary short-swords sheathed at their left hip. They were old, but kept in good condition, proven as they closed on a pair of maids carefully polishing and buffing the black steel, however they stopped, staring at Roselina with some confusion.

Melna quickly took out a cloth and knocked them both on the head,
"What have I told you girls? Come now you have work to do, you dont have time to stop and stare, you know what happens if anyone gets upset with how we look at them, that also means you cant be rude and stare at a new maid too, move-move!" Melna ordered. She wasn't being harsh, but rather more concerned. The two girls bowed apologetically before continuing their work, evidently a little upset themselves.
The woman sighed and shook her head, leading Roselina on.

The next halls displayed various collected weapons in glass cases, however these ones were in more of a state of disarray, broken swords, rusted axes and damaged shields, even parts of charred and wrecked armour, preserved as well as could be within the cases, perhaps the most curious one was a pair of stone slabs, inscribed with ancient runic texts, one held a diamond shaped sapphire at its centre, the other had a spherical ruby pressed into it. As they sat beside one another it could be seen from the way they were shaped that they fit together much like a jigsaw puzzle, but there appeared to be additional shapes on the tops and bottoms of them that suggested there were missing slabs.

With a final turn down a rather less-decorated hall, Melna stopped at a doorway, two guards relaxing outside of it, calm looks as the two of them seemed to take almost unprofessional stances, one smoking from a long wooden pipe, the small of tobacco was rather strong, but there were other little touches in it, hinting at the possible use of other little narcotics. They barely looked at Melna, but for their rather chilled look there was a little something more.
Their eyes shot in Roselina's direction, hands on their swords like a flash, but they froze, looking at Melna then, who folded her arms, puffing her face a little fatter than she began,
"Now now boys, you can play with your toys some other time, this is the Prince's new assistant." She stated, the men looking at her a while then at Roselina again. A second later the one that was smoking simply grinned, the other chuckling and they returned tot heir relaxed position,
"The Strange Prince strikes again.." The smoker snorted, shaking his head and popping a silver coin through the air to the other,
"Told ya, buddy, never bet against the Prince doin' somethin' weird. I'mma have a nice cold one wi'this silver,"
"Yeah-yeah, quit bragging.."
"All right you two, enough, you know you're not meant to call him that." Melna chided them, waving her finger. THe non-smoker and apparent winner-of-a-bet raised his hands defensively,
"I got it, I got it, well c'mon in, new girl, this's Prince Steele's personal quarters," He motioned tot he doors, grabbing the handle and pushing it open before entering himself and holding it open.

Steele's quarters seemed to consist of three areas, the entry, with a mahogany desk and a shelf full of books and various reading material, a bedroom to the right of the entrance and an access to the balcony where it seemed his cloaked form was standing once again, still in the rain and staring out at the surrounding town, his form illuminated only by the covered lanterns outside.

The assassin was on guard. She wondered how the Guard's got their job while they where obviously not that alert. She thought they should be able to tell someone coming before they came into the hall like she could. But I guess they turned out to be a bit lazy with not doing anything for hours on end.

She looked back at Melna, before heading into the Prince's quarters. She was a bit curious as to why he picked her. If it was for a friendly conversation, he wasn't going to have that. She was hired to kill, not to act. She looked out into the balcony seeing the Prince in the rain. Drenched. She wondered why he was out there. He would get a cold...But it wasn't her part to worry for him. "...I'm here your highness..." She mumbled quietly. Wondering if he heard her.

[Sorry, xP I was particularly motivated with my last post]

The door was closed behind Roselina, quite calmly, the chuckles of the tow guards exchanging quips could be heard still, but Melna had evidently left. So in truth there really was only the prince and the new servant.
When she spoke he raised his hand so that the back was showing, but kept his attention outward,
"Just.. One moment.." Looking out across the town and up at the rain just a moment longer before he turned. Though his features were young, silver hair plastered to his face from the drenching affect of the rain,
"I rather like it out here.. The rain relaxes me." He stated almost offhandedly before making his way in and shutting the door to the balcony.

The stone of the outcropping was cut and angled just right sot hat rain would pour off it, never into the quarters themselves, though the prince did a fine job of having his cloak drip a small shower of water onto the stone-flagon flooring.
He grasped the simple brooch holding the cloak to him still and removed the black folds, hanging it on a nearby coat-rack. He lacked the more regal-looking attire one could expect, though the materials for his more plain clothes were no doubt still expensive, a long sleeved white shirt, thick, woollen, finely stitched, tucked into a pair of black slacks that fed nicely into half-length boots. It was as if he was prepared to go out somewhere, though faint signs of mud at the hem of his cloak and the bottoms of his boots would suggest he already had been.

He walked over to Roselina with a smile, but then past her,
"I'm Steele, Prince Steele to some, The Strange Prince to others and, of course-" his tone became almost sarcastic, "Heir to the throne!" he gagged on the words but then shrugged to himself, "I'm barely comfortable with those around me as it is without having to worry about how many people are looking to stab me in the back, one less is a blessing I can't help but indulge in." He turned sharply to stare at Roselina, his face curved into a calm smile,
"Its nice to have some-one nearby who isn't looking to slip a knife in between my ribs,"
Steele stood quite formally with his hands behind his back, head tilted off to the side slightly, not paying attention to the tiny trails on his skin made by the rain slipping down his jaw and threatening to drip form his chin,
"Would you honour me with your name?"

( No, nothing was wrong with your post...I was just saying that I have a hard time making long posts, so sorry if mine are so short >.< )

The assassin watched his every movement closely. Was he really a prince? She had never seen a royal, or even a Lord, get out in the rain is such a manner. He seemed to enjoy it. But she saw other noble's cower away in fear at the sight of a gray cloud. They didn't want to get their cloth's soaked.

She listened to the word's of the Prince, still wondering why he wanted her. If it was because he didn't want to be stabbed in the back, then he got it all wrong, and he has a horrible sense of luck since her very job is to jab a knife right into his heart. She wondered if she should grab a towel for the Prince, like any caring made would of done. But, she wasn't caring...Nor was she an average maid.

She pondered on giving him her name. Surely she wouldn't give him her Real name. But of course she would give him the name that she was given by the evil society she was in. Roselina. Like a Rose, she was beautiful. But she had thorns.

"Roselina. Forget about your old name. That is no longer needed."

She closed her eyes in thought. She couldn't forget the name that was given to her by her Father. Which was O---"Roselina your highness." Before she could think more upon her name, she had given an answer. She shook away the unneeded thoughts, before opening her eyes again, looking back at the Prince.

When the Maid closed her eyes to think, Steele raised a brow curiously, leaning in as silently as a shadow could move, practically face to face with her as she thought so hard. Perhaps the delay was merely because she was still shocked about how all this had happened, or maybe she really was thinking about her name..? Why would she take so long honestly? When she opened her eyes again he leaned back sharply, going slightly off balance and knocking his head against a nearby fixture as she answered.

He sharply put a hand to his head and hissed slightly, as one did when taking an accidental, but rather painful, knock,
"Roselina..?" He asked, quickly recovering his composure and placing the same hand on his chin, "Well whoever thought it up sure was inventive." He nodded to himself, looking at her, "I mean after all your parents had to think it up right?" He immediately turned away,
"Well, if you had parents, never know, maybe you didn't and I'm making an utter fool of myself," He turned his head to wink at her though, "And that has certainly been known to happen."

The Prince quickly made his way to his room, but only grabbed a towel from a drawer so he could apply it to his head, vigorously rubbing it over his hair tot he point that he ende dup disorientating himself and falling over the foot of his bed and off the other side with a thump, though oddly enough he was practically almost laughing all the way, but had to get up just as quickly to regain his composure once more,
"Ahem! Roselina! There's the matter of your duties to discuss, though really it all just involves being on hand if I need something important or need to get certain things done, I take it that you're willing to do that for me, yes?"

The assassin tilted her head to the side as she saw the Prince fall back. She should of noticed him getting closer, but she was off guard. She mentally slapped herself, before listening to the prince. She didn't answer him. I mean, what should she say? "Oh the head person in the assassin society gave me that name to use for uncover missions like this. Its like a codename" No, that wouldn't work. So, she didn't say anything.

She watched him curiously. She's never seen a prince act so...Strange. Strange enough to make her laugh...No not really. She didn't even crack a smile. "Yes, your highness." I mean, what else was a maid suppose to do?

"Blegh.. Your highness.." The prince gagged slightly, mostly as if speaking to himself before making an almost grand flourish, "Since I'm making this up as I go along, I will instate our first rule! You wont call me Prince or Highness or Majesty or anything like that, other people can do it but you're going to be spending a lot of time with me so-" He rubbed his chin, thinking a bit, "Just call me Steele, or Razéous, though the latter is a more honorrific term I suppose.."

A knock on the door to his quarters made him frown a bit, as though his fun were being ruined, but he simply shrugged to himself and sighed,
"Just.. Keep it in mind, please Roselina. It'll make a nice change, I like nice little changes, they're too infrequent, like good luck and genuine smiles." He smiled himself, but moved to leave the room shortly after, to find himself stumbling sideways and using the door-frame for balance, a hand pressed against his ribs as if nursing an injury, but he withdrew it as quickly, clearing his through and standing straight once more,
"Little light-headed there for a sec, guess I'm just giddy," He spoke aloud, waving off the incident and going to his doors, hauling them open, one of his guards was holding up a tray with a silver cover,
"Dinner's here,"
"Ah, good! Thank you," The silver-haired prince took the large tray and pushing the doors shut again with his feet before taking the tray to the table and setting it down. He'd opted to eat away from his family for many reasons, though the risk of being poisoned was a lot greater,
"Hey Roselina, have you eaten yet?" He asked, gazing her way, he could guess what the answer to that was, but it was polite to ask.

Roselina nodded. She hated calling him Highness anyway. But, she thought it might cause problems if she called him by his name. She didn't know if the other people in the Castle will do anything to her for it. But, she shook those thoughts away. No need to think of it now. "Yes, Steele." She said it in a lower tone then usual. It felt awkward, but she had to deal with it.

When the prince left the room, she turned to her left, and looked in a mirror. She tried to raise the corner's of her mouth, but failed to do so. What reason was there for her to smile? Let out a small sigh before beginning to answer his question. She didn't know if he was joking or what. If she said no, would he tease her with showing her food? Or would he actually give her something. But, might as well tell the truth, she thought. "No." She answered.

Steele wasn't really surprised, as far as he was aware she'd gone to bed and been left to rest since first being inducted into the castle. The prince adjusted the tray calmly and then pulled out one of the chairs. The table itself wasn't too sizeable, the kind a small family would sit at, he didn't exactly need something too big in his own quarters after-all. The young man then guided Roselina over to the solitary seat and motioned to it whilst he himself restedon the edge of the desk, tapping his fingers on the cover.

The closer vicinity tot he food allowed the smell of it to waft on through, though the mixture of scents made it difficult to tell what was actually in there, at least until he pulled away the silver covering.
He revealed a small assortment, but certainly a meal that was too large for one person. The prince had made a habit of leaving a lot behind simply because there was always too much. There was on bowl of soup, tomato definitely, the red surface giving it away quite clearly. On one plate there was an assortment of salad, lettuce, tomato, cucumbers and various other tid-bits, it was the radishes that the prince really didn't like.
The last plate was about as simple as you could get, meat and potatoes, carefully carved slices of beef, cooked finely and decorated with gentle spices.

The prince took one spoon from the many utensils lying about and stirred the soup a moment before liftting it to his lips and sipping it before shrugging,
"Well, no poison, looks safe enough." He chuckled, putting the spoon aside, "Dig in?"

Roselina couldn't help her mouth from watering, so she just elegantly, placed a hand over her mouth so that just in case drool came out, it wouldn't be shown to the Prince.

She at least thought that someone would taste test it for him first, but no, he took a sip, like it was nothing. But was he being sarcastic? She wondered as she slowly approached him. She didn't speak a word as she looked at the food. The food was calling her. Forcing her to ask. But what could it hurt? It was just one question? "Am I allowed to eat?" But no, she wouldn't budge. She was trained not to speak. She wasn't going to break over some food.

"Um...Am...I allowed to eat?"

Steele stared at her in an odd sort of disbelief before chuckling, having to cover his mouth with a hand as he almost laughed so hard that he began coughing slightly before wiping away a couple of tears with his wrist,
"You know, if you weren't allowed to eat, you wouldn't be here to have this conversation, of course you can! I wouldn't have offered otherwise." He chuckled once more and sighed shaking his head, "You're certainly strange, Roselina, but I suppose that is a good thing. After-all a Strange Prince couldn't do without a strange maid at his side.."
On the words Strange Prince he held up two fingers on both hands and curled them twice, once for both words, mocking the phrase himself.

He ran his hands through his hair to straighten it out a little better, realizing it probably was slightly disarrayed after the towel incident. Though with that done he stood up, making his way to the bookcases behind the desk and grabbing a volume from it, the title was obscured, as though it had been rubbed off from continuous readings, that didnt seem to bother him though, he was probably so familiar with it he knew it by its cover alone,
"I need you healthy and ready for anything, Roselina, so I would prefer you do eat, you wouldn't do much good as my trusted servant if you're too weak to do anything,"

Roselina rubbed the back of her neck, holding back her embarrassment from reaching her face.

She then sat down, and starting eating. She was eating rather fast, but not fast enough to choke. She hasn't had good food like this since...Since...Well...
Memories ran through her head. A child sitting beside what seemed like her father, and what looked like a caring mother served food to them. Tomato soup. Beef. Salad.

Roselina shook away her memories as word's reached her ears.

He needs me healthy? What, does he want me to murder someone or something? She wondered. But even without eating she was strong. She was hired to kill the Prince. She was able to handle herself if she was hired to kill someone. She wanted to ask why, but she held her curiosity back...Or maybe the thought of food being taken away made her hold the word's back.

Steele flicked through several pages of the book until he stopped at the page he wanted, though his eyes would shift occasionally back tot he maid, seeing her eat so hungrily made him feel a slight pang of guilt, he could only imagine how underfed she'd been while being transported here, not to mention the possible abuse, yet she came out none the worse for wear, it seemed.
But she was definitely strange. She wasn't afraid, she certainly didn't look it, in fact she was calm, calmer than any new servant normally was, expect for the specially bought ones, those tended to and disciplined into perfect slaves, but they were as much dead as they were alive, so little hope and life left behind those faded eyes.

But Roselina had a little fire back there, just the right spark of life to tell Steele she wasn't some broken toy. He could see it in those eyes. He wasn't sure how, or why he felt this way about her, but it made her all the more interesting. He sensed a key in her, unturned yet, it would be fascinating to find out more, the very thought making him like a giddy child wanted to peek at his presents early.
The prince flicked through the book a few more pages, staring at several sentences int he nameless book before shutting it quietly,
"I know this is all new to you, Rose," The prince began, having decided to shorten her name for convenience sake, "But you don't have to be nervous or worried around me. If you want to ask something, you can ask me. If you've something to say, speak your mind. Perhaps not around the others, they probably wouldn't understand.. But when we are alone, go for broke! We'll be spending a lot of time together, may as well be comfortable about it, right?"

He probably could have worded it all better but the thought slipped his mind as he stared at her, he couldn't help but think to himself how rather pretty the maid was. Probably the prettiest he'd ever seen.

Roselina raised an eyebrow. What is he? A perverted prince? She wondered as she finally finished her food.

But, she wasn't going to ask any questions. She held herself back, even though he said that she could ask questions to him. I'd rather not. She let out a sigh before standing up. "Is that all?" She asked, acting a bit cold towards him. Get comfortable? After that statement she wanted to be even more alert. "Or do you want me to do some assignment. If so, I believe I am strong, and ready now."

(Gah...Sorry its short.)

[Thats fine xP]

"Eeeyep, I think that about sums it all up.." He responded quickfire to her question, though looked at her with a mildly amused smirk when she claimed to be ready, "I don't think so.. First of all you shouldn't exercise on a full stomach, the cramps are killer." He then placed his hands behind his head with a grin, "Besides you don't look too physically imposing, are you even trained? I knew that trader was worried about something, you haven't been trained for anything yet, have you?" He asked, shrugging to himself, "We'll get to work on that tomorrow I suppose,"

"It is a real shame that we cant get to the good part tonight.. I'll miss my chance to get some more of my work done.." The prince stated in a manner that could be considered sarcasm but also a strange mocking. He stood up and stretched calmly but no sooner had he done that he recoiled sharply, holding a hand over his ribs again. He placed the book down and sat, head lowered while he focused on willing away the sharp pain,
"If you want to make yourself useful go and find Melna for me, and not a word why, got that?"

Roselina didn't give him any expression. Better then glaring at him right? Actually, I've gotten used to doing things on a full stomach. Cramps don't bother me at all. Its pretty much heaven compared to the things that have happened to me, and, I've been trained to kill. Kill you. So yes, I believe I am trained, very well.

She turned around, and walked away without a word. Not even a goodbye.

When she opened the door, she completely ignored the guards, and closed the door behind her. She then continued her way down the hallway. Where would Melna be? What does he want with her? She wondered.
