Shadow Force Alpha
A Shadowrun-based Roleplay
=X_X_X=
The year is 2050. Although technology has progressed significantly, society has stayed pretty stable, recently anyway. Recently meaning within the past ten years or so, of course. Following a disastrous attempt by China, North Vietnam, North Korea, and Russia for world domination in 2035, the entire world (Well, most of it, anyway...) has unified under the banner of Aurelius Elric, a just and righteous leader originally hailing from Great Britain. Fifteen years into the aftermath of the failed Communist Uprising, there are still some entities who deny efforts to unify the world as a single entity, most of these being located in what's left of the Far East and the remains of the Soviet States. The government has formed units of specialized people to “take care of” the leaders of these rebellious states by any means nescessary.

Roleplay Specs
- Loosely based on the Shadowrun world
- Set on Earth
- Technology has advanced to a point where it is possible to "install" physical modifications directly onto the human body (Cyberware/Bioware)
- Modifications have accumulating detrimental effects on the body. If enough modifications have been installed on a person, they experience feelings of illness and detachment from the standards of “Humanity”
- The more modifications that are installed, the more severe the effects.
- There are pills (although effectiveness is limited) that can be used to reduce the effects of extensive modification. They are called Proto-tablets.
- Only available race is Human.

There are twelve six-person units comprised of four Extractors, one Guide, and one Medic. There is also an elite unit of three “modified” people. One Hunter, one Tech, and one Healer.
Extractors are specialized military-class soldiers. They specialize in capturing people without death or serious injury, and rarely fire a bullet during a mission.
A Hunter is the elite (Alpha) form of an Extractor. Hunters are genetically enhanced to be super-human, in order to have the capability of lethaly subduing a large number of people without much physical help. The extensiveness of their enhancements require frequent doses of Proto-tablets.
Guides are standard techies. They usually stay in the background, sitting behind a computer screen, providing technological and communications support for the field operatives. Most Guides can only go so far, but the Tech (The Alpha Guide) has the capability (due to the modifications) to actually “talk” to computers. Sometimes, even argue…
Medics are pretty much self-explanatory. They have med-packs, and the knowledge that comes with. If you’re hurt, find the Medic. However, the Healer (The Alpha Medic) can almost use a form of "magic" to heal. They have the capability to use the injured person’s life energy to reduce pain, set and begin to mend bones, stop bleeding, and heal minor wounds.
